I think I read little house of the Prairie, but forgotten most of it by now since it was around 4 years ago..

It was an Ok book, but it didn't catch my interest that much, so I never bothered to read the other books in the series.

they helped define my childhood. my mom always said she was "pioneer" blood like others would say they were irish. i not only read all the little house books, but was very much into the american girl Kirsten that was a pioneer.

xD! I LOVE THOSE BOOKS. I used to read them when I was little. I skipped Farmer Boy, I wasn't interested in learning about her husband until later. :B

I stopped reading them over halfway through Little Town on the Prairie or something like that. >_>

Oh man. I read those so many times when I was younger...freakin' awesome books. I need to re-read them, I really do...

Anyway, the list of books is this:

Little House in the Big Woods (awesome)
Little House on the Prairie (a little less awesome)
On the Banks of Plum Creek (has leeches!)
By the Shores of Silver Lake (don't remember it very well, but always liked the name 'Silver Lake')
The Long Winter (my favorite)
Little Town on the Prairie (I think my other favorite?)
These Happy Golden Years (wait, no, this one was my favorite)

And:

Farmer Boy (probably better than I remember)
The First Four Years (borrring)

  • Ohh, wow. I remember reading those books when I was little. I actually liked them too, but I haven't read any lately at all. I didn't even remember them, but I remember there was a show too! I remembering I loved watching the show with my mom. It was a really good show to watch. Very funny at times too. :]

But I wonder if they have any newer Little House on The Prairie Books.. :S

Read most of em. The first two were the best.

@Julianna - they likely cannot have any newer ones. Unlike, say, the Nancy Drew books, the Little House books were based on Laura Ingall Wilder's diaries and so unless someone makes up new stories based on fiction, all there will be are Laura's books and maybe Rose Wilder's books.

I've read them, but I can't remember what comes after farmer boy, which by the way, after Little House in the Big Wood, was my favorite book I didn't much care for the other books mostly because they didn't have the family bonding that I saw in the others, I think that was what drew me in on the first ones.

I own more Little House books than I've actually read. ^_^; If I could find them, maybe I'd bother to finish them... But there's so much I want to read, and I don't have the time nor patience to do so.

I think I read one or two of the Rose Wilder books...
