I haven't read all his books, but read The Oath when it came out. This is horror fiction on a par with Steven King, but for some reason murkier to get through. I don't think it is because of the religious themes, but just that King is a more polished writer.
Peretti's biography is interesting too -- apparently he had an appalling birth defect and had a miserable childhood. It's no wonder he is a successful horror writer and I wish him all the best.
