It really depends on the size. I read about anything from 100 pages to the harry potter books. It takes me about 4-5 hours. Manga, it only takes about 20 minutes.

I've read a novel in under 12 hours, but it's not that often--I'm usually reading longer, more involved books. Or I'm just too busy doing other stuff.

Hmm, I read Gone With the Wind in about ten hours.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix from about 10:00 A.M. until about 4:00 P.M. so six hours.

It also depends on how much time I have. I can generally read most things in one day if I have the free time to do it...

I remember reading one part of Harry Potter's books really fast, but I don't really remember how many hours it actually took me. -___-
Didn't count.

I usually take a day to read a novel that is about 300 pages. Depends though if I am interested enough in it.
A small novel takes about a couple of hours, but it depends on if I am interested in it, or if I have enough time on my hands to read a novel.
Manga, it takes about 15-20 minute read =3

I think I read the longest HP book in about five hours, I read it on the way home from a vacation.

Usually though, I don't read things straight through, I read parts whenever I feel like it.

It depends on the novel..
There was one time that I've finished a 400+ pages novel in just three or four hours I guess..
It also depends if the book is interesting or not...

The first time I read Deathly Hallows, I finished it in a day and a half. I started reading it right when we got home from the bookstore, read until about 5 in the morning, went to sleep, and I read it in the morning until my mom and I had to go to our belt test for TaeKwonDo, then I read it when we got back until 3 in the morning. I know that a few phone conversations took place in the reading, and a lot of other stuff distracted me (like crying for Hedwig and Dobby).. but yeah, that's the fastest I've read a novel.

Read 'The DaVinci Code' in a couple of days. I guess it's not that fast judging by the other posts in this thread, but it's a big book and I thought it went by quickly ;)

I'm not really sure, I don't really time my reading XD
But if I really like a book, I can read it pretty fast. I think I read New Moon in less than a day. :3
I keep on talking about that series now >.>

My friends say I'm a pretty fast reader, some even asked if I've attended speed reading classes, in which my reply to that was a big fat NO! I can finish any novel I like, especially one that I just can't put it down once I start (ignore the cliche expression) in about 3 hours depending on how many pages.

I'd roughly estimate that I read about 100 pages per hour. I remember one week in 6th grade when I read the Harry Potter series books 1-4 Monday-Thursday just during the breaks between classes and lunch time. I have to say though, that while I read fast, I'm not quick to pick up the details or remember them for that matter. *.* That's kinda bad when I have to take a test...yea. So, if it's a book I really like, I would go back to it and read it over and over again, such as Pride and Prejudice.

I read the entire collection of The Lord of the Rings including "The Hobbit" in less that two days. (Which is also including the amount of time it took to track all the volumes down)

When I was younger, I used to read really fast. Granted, the books I read then weren't as long as the ones I read now, but I was more interested in reading. I've kind of fallen out of reading, which isn't a good thing, but I'm forcing myself to pick it back up with reading at least one chapter a night. So, as you see, I read very slowly now. However, a couple weeks ago I read a lot (for me) in one sitting. It was about three hundred pages. My boyfriend finally interrupted me by coming home from work and I was drawn enough out of the book to actually realize what page I was on and I was all, 'o_o Holy crap.' I need to find more books that can draw me in like that.

I think I read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer in about 6 hours. And I read aff four books of The Song of the Lioness in less then one day, but they're pretty short books.

Oh, I read the seventh Harry Potter book in 8 hours.

It might not be fast, but it was faster than my older brother, so...
>>;
xD;;

I'm a fast reader compared to my friends, though. =P

It depends on what I have to do (I'm a mom) and how interesting the book is. When I was a teen I could off pretty much any romance novel tossed my way within 8 hours. Harry Potter was the last one I read and it took me about 2 days of on again off again reading. The one I'm on now has taken me the better part of a month and I'm still not done. Holidays and children don't allow for much reading time.

I can read a book in one or two days, when I have nothing else to do. I finished the last harry potter in a day, i think it took 10 hours or less. I'm a fast reader, and I remember everything I read. Sometimes when I finish reading one book I start on another.
