Chris smirked at Ana's excitement for the upcoming match, and felt a small surge of pride as she put her hand on his arm. He let out a hearty laugh at her comment about him holding back, trying to mask his concern. Of course she was right, he could not adversely effect the trials just for his own concern.

Oh, Ana, the way you've been training, you may hand me a loss before your mutation!

She had washed away any awkward feelings he had so easily that it reminded Chris of why he wanted to get to know her better. The thought occured to him that she may not even know of how she became who she was, since she had no recollection (as far as he knew) of her past. However, Chris knew that she grew up in Pylae, making her almost "bred" for the resistance movement. No one was more loyal than her to the cause of dethroning Harrow, and freeing the world from the clutches of the Dark "Presidency". Chris was gradually building his resovle, and becoming more himself around Ana. He was very comfortable and secure around everyone in Vis, especially women, but Ana always made his words either clam up in his throat or spew forth too fast to control. It was almost as if she were intoxicating.

Chris turned to Corey and shook his hand. Chris barely ever said the right thing to this guy, or at least Chris thought he never said the right thing. He always got barely any response at all, the guy was so dang introverted. Still, Chris was always trying to find out as much as he could about everyone.

Hello, Corey. We were just going to go to Palmer's lab to see about Project X. would you like to come with us and represent the Spy division? I'm sure Palmer has some useful things in store for you guys as well as the soldier division.

Things were finally starting to move along. I certainly hope Palmer is ready for us; I have a feeling we are going to need to start really fighting back sooner rather than later. I just have this stirring feeling in my gut...

"Hm, so you've been taking note of how I train. A curious observation. I'll have to make sure to throw in a few surprises then when we have our turn sparring. Someone has to keep you on your toes physically after all." Ana had dropped her hand from Chris and taken a step back to look up at him squarely. She would have to be more mindful of this one it would seem... Or had it been out of assessing her skill level for Pylae's rebellion? No matter now.

Turning then and having listened to Felton intently as he explained what he believed the proper steps leading up to the procedure would be, it was time. Nodding her head she closed her eyes briefly and crossed her arms over her chest to collect herself. The desire to get to the lab and start was maddening as she had been waiting for this for far too long. Emotions of refusal to not appear as the likes of a child in front of her fellow comrades set in and quickly took over. Preferring to conduct herself with a more mature fashion, it was difficult since the things were beginning now. Her mind had wandered over the possibilities of what it was that they would be receiving as their mutations. Now having Felton said in so many words that they would be receiving different DNA strains of the serum made it much more enticing. Here she had thought that they would all be unified soldiers down to the same training, outfit, and mutations.

A first for her with happy to be leaving the training room, she began to follow Felton as he started through the doors and began leading them down one of the tunnels to Palmer's lab. She followed as Felton began to question Korey's new diet that he had been put on. Eyeing over the male, she saw that he was slight of build but strong. To her there did not seem to be any health issues, perhaps it was something for his procedure?

The prospect of genetic change was wasn’t just some hypothesis slithering through a labs and research facilities and fringe science anymore. If the mutation was successful Ana would because the first of many (Korey among them) and a symbol of scientific ingenuity. How was it that a rebellion would bring about such a huge leap in science? Their little band of rebels had thrived in the face of a superior enemy. It was cruelly odd that one of the greatest leaps in human history was going to be made hidden underneath the earth by what the government called vagrants and misguided revolutionaries. These mutations, this research, and this amazing advancement could cure diseases, add years to people’s lives, and yet it would be used to end so many.

If Korey was captured after these mutations would be tortured for information or cut apart in the name of science? So then, what was more dangerous, the information that his body held, or his mind?

“Not as of yet.” Korey said, managing to throw out a coherent sentence as he hurriedly crawled out of the depths of his distracting thoughts. His mind was hung on how the economy, medical communities, and world leaders would respond to these mutations; more than conversation. He didn’t mean to be rude so he gave Felton a smile.

Korey shook Chris’s hand trying to pull a faint smile back across his lips. Chris thought right, Korey was rather introverted. As a spy Korey was supposed to be charismatic, charming, and an illustrious weaver of lies. When out on a mission he was that and much more. It didn’t matter the mask, he could make one for any role. He spent so much time creating lies and pseudo-personalities that his true self was left almost awkward and bare.

“I still can’t break hundred-and-fifty pounds.” Korey had grown up to become a stringy 5’10 skeleton wrapped up in thin bound muscle. “There's not exactly a great selection of food here anyways.” He took a sip of his coffee. It tasted of sugar and sewage.

Chris slowly strolled up to the door to Palmer's lab, with the others close in tow. He placed his palm on the door, feeling the grain of the wood, and reminising about how far the rebellion has come. He remembered when they first aquired automatic weapons, and even though the enemy uses them as well, how valuable they still are. He remembered when Palmer first brought the idea of genetic manipulation up, and the seemingly endless possibilities they provide. He thought of how he had devoted everything he had to this rebellion, to the rescue of his brother. He thought of his brother, sitting in some cell, hoping for the end of his suffering. His brother, who he loved more than anyone in the world, was in grave danger, and it was Chris's responsibility to make sure he comes home safely. Chris thought about how far they still had to go, as well. They had no idea if the capitol had moved, or if Harrow was even living in this country still. They just needed to take this one step at a time, but this would be one gigantic leap. One, Chris hoped, they were prepared for.

Well, let us see if he is in...

Chris knocked on the door, deliberately and slowly...

The schematics were written up and there were papers everywhere, tacked to the dank looking walls and scattered about his desk. Messy thinker, really. Palmer had been going over his notes, checking and cross checking to make sure he didn't make mistakes. In this experiment, there was little to no room for any error. After all, he was altering someone's genetic makeup, permanently. Ana would be changed in an intense way, become more of a super soldier, assuming this worked. That was what Plyae needed. They needed the newest brand of soldiers to fight this war. Each member of the team to be sent above ground had requested options for mutations, but Ana had chosen the most simple, as far as things went. She choice a hyper enhanced ability that would make her the essential 'first perfect weapon'.

When the knock came on the door, Palmer ran his fingers through his hair and took off his reading glasses, safetly tucking them in his front shirt pocket. Pulling the door open was a task, more mentally than physically. What he didn't expect to see was a giant audience, which was what seeing all these people felt like. If he failed, everyone involved would know. If there is a god, Palmer pleaded not to fail. He looked over the mismatched looking group and sighed.

"Nice of you all to gather.. I don't have much room in the lab, but please, come in.."

The words came out more nervous sounding that he'd like, even if they sounded nearly confident. It wasn't enough confidence to actually be believed. He opened the door a bit more to let the small flood of people come in, primarily focusing on Ana, assessing her visually to determine what to start with. The process would take about a week, due to the lack of strong electrical current down in the tunnels. They were lucky that they had any, really. But Ana appeared ready, which was a good sign. She knew the risk, Palmer had made damn sure of it when he first started talking to soldiers and spies about the candidacy for the first to change.

Palmer offered the space, designating people into certain areas of the room so that it wasn't come complicated. Of course, it was still complicated due to lack of space, but the young specialist would simply have to learn to manage the situation. It wasn't every day that a major scientific breakthrough was made. That he knew of, anyway. They really had been cut off from the world above. But today was going to mark the future of science, and hopefully, the future of a successful end of the war against Harrow.

The trip to Palmer's lab had been briefer than she had remembered, then again she had been somewhat lost in her thoughts of the moments leading up to this very one. Having stopped with the rest of the party in front of the lab door, she remained silent as Chris knocked an waited for them to gain entry. She watched the door intently willing it to open, feeling a relieved that indeed it did. Palmer stood peering out in the entryway to the group. As she watched his face, she thought she could detect the a slight change in emotion and wondered if he had the same glimmer of a thought of there being an unexpected audience today for the procedure. The good doctor's voice wavered slightly as he addressed them, still he managed to look as calm as one could when about to be conducting an experimental procedure.

Allowing the others to file into the room before her, Ana waited patiently as Palmer ushered into the small lab before stepping over the threshold. Since today was all about her she made no move to go stand with the others but remained near the entrance way awaiting Palmer's direction. Her eyes wandered over the sketches and notes placed about the walls of the small room that served for Palmer's purpose. From what she could glance over her enhanced DNA would not be as impressive as some of the other possible mutations may have been, but it was the first trial and one that Ana had felt was the best match for herself. Having already been quite the acrobatic combative femme, Ana was curious as to how much further she could push herself with little to no effort and with even greater results.

ChrisChris looked around the room. Like a lot of smart guys, Palmer had never been an organized person. Chris smiled to himself as he thought of how he would berate a soldier that kept his rack like that. However, Palmer was no soldier, and soldiers alone would never win a war against power like the Dark "Presidency". They needed information, strategy, technology, and most of all, courage. Ask anyone in Pylae, Palmer was courageous. This was a historic event, and every one of the most courageous people is Vis were gathered to witness.

Well, friend, what do we do first? Gather up some eyes of newt? Maybe some dragons beard?

Chris had often joked about how the technology, even down here, was beginning to feel like magic to him. He was trying to lighten the mood.

Assessing the situation, the young specialist tried to make a decision. He didn't relly want an audience for the procedure, so he would need to make this quick. Of course, quick in retrospect, might be difficult. Pointing to Ana, he smiled as calmly as he could. "I need you to come sit over here and Felton, I need you to take all her starting vital signs. No need to dawdle." He couldn't start the actual procedure yet, not until he had done all preliminary checks and set everything up. A little organization couldn't help, either.

"Chris, I'm afraid that I'm all out of Dragon's with beards, so I suppose one without will have to do. I assume you could easily fetch me one, being a strong soldier like yourself." Palmer disliked the idea of science being called magic, but played along quite well. After all, he was used to it. It was a bit magical, in a sense, after all. He was about to go full wizard, changing someone into another version of herself, but stronger, more agile. Magic wasn't too far off.

Next, he addressed Korey, a spy that was also on his list for the procedure, assuming all worked out as planned with Ana. "Is the coffee just as awful as it always is? Maybe a tip could be made to get adequate food source, so we dont kill off all the men before the opposing side gets the chance.. I need you all to be healthy." Next to Ana's mutation, Korey's would be the second easiest to achieve. Rapid cell regeneration was already part of the DNA, much like enhancing agility. Naturally, that meant he could be the second to get experimented on. Of course.. Palmer hadn't mentioned that to anyone yet, aside from brushing it off to Felton a few nights ago at dinner.

Palmer took a breath and gathered some of his notes, handing them to Felton offhandedly. "Make sure to check off everything on this list. Everything is important for the procedure. Unfortunately, I cannot have an audience, so anything else that must be addressed, if you could please do so now. My basic plan is that I need to make sure everything with right with Ana, both physically and mentally, then I will do a few tests, and then she will be out for a week while the procedure takes place. After everything is done, I will need someone, or a few people, to train with her and make sure that she is faring well and the mutation went as planned.. Understood?" Putting into casual speak was difficult for him, but he thought he managed well enough.

The good doctor with the title as 'Tinkerer' was one of the few people in the Pylae Army that Ana had always felt a certain sense of calm around. Yes the man was nervous with what was about to take place, which was understandable, but his feelings of slight unease did nothing to make her own strong resolve waiver even the slightest bit.

So when he pointed at her and gave her direction, she returned his smile with a small and genuine one of her own. As she sat down, she looked over to where Felton stood, "Where are we starting first? The last time I had my vitals checked it was a pretty quick procedure. I'm guessing this one will be a little more extensive?" She wanted to act as cooperatively as she possibly could to get the proverbial ball rolling. Her eyes went over to the table and the few trays that stood nearby. Implements were of course covered by the usual small surgical sheets found in any medical office. To no avail was she able to make out any of the tools that Palmer would be using on her for the experiment. Not that she had an issue with needles or anything.

It was just that she was curious, and excited with the anticipation of this all working. "It has to work. There is no way that it won't. Brilliant minds with proposed preposterous ideas are the ones that make the history books after all." She could not help thinking positively about Palmer's work as she again looked around the room at the various notes. This was the moment that she was trained for, and possibly even born for. Perhaps this was why she was abandoned by her parents. It was her fate to be part of such a breakthrough.

Those hazel green eyes of her's were alert as she listened and watched the exchanges between Chris and Palmer. It was then that she began to truly study the faces of the others. Were they nervous for her? Were they hoping for her to turn into a mutated failure? Not that their opinions really mattered ever or at this defining point.

Closing her eyes, she sat back in her chair and relaxed as best as she could in the small metal seat. She waited patiently as Palmer explained as best as he could what was to take place in the near future. Waiting for volunteers to say that they would train with her to test her new abilities, and for Felton to start with whatever vital checks that he needed to do.

"Poke me. Drain me. Cut me. Do whatever it is that needs to be done. I'm ready and wanting to start the new phase of my life." The thought was not verbalized, it was just her will manifesting itself as a silent prayer to do what needed to be done.

"Okay, thank you, Doctor. Will do." Felton quickly went into his bag and pulled out a set of gloves and slipped them on with ease. "If you would please allow me to touch you." Felton didn't wait for an answer as he gently grasped her hand and started to take her pulse. Good. A good pulse. He started to pull her arm up and looked at her whole arm. He placed it down and picked up the other. No visual signs of abuse or alteration. Felton took a stethoscope and placed it chest to listen to her breath and her lung functions. Very good. Very little mucus build-up. Felton took out a measuring tape and started taking down lengths of her arms, her legs, her torso, her chest, everything down to her ankles and wrists. He took note of her hair color, texture and length. Complexion, skin color, skin tone, every mole, every blemish, every thing. He took out a medical hammer and lightly bumped her knee. Normal reaction. Again. Good reaction time. The next. Very good, very good. So far nothing was amiss and there was nothing he could see that was wrong with her. Yet.

"Now if you would please take off your clothing down to your undergarments." Felton turned to the others. "You guys would probably want to do the same. Strip down to your undergarments so my examinations go that much faster." He turned back to Ana. "And as soon as you are done, I will need to take a blood sample, skin scrappings, hair and tissue, cheek swabs, and a urine sample. I'll also need to make a much thorough exam, so if you wish for privacy, please tell me now." Felton wrote all of his notations down on the pages that Palmer handed off to him. Quickly, this project has such a small window of opportunity.

Felton started to think of the things that Palmer had somewhat said the last dinner they had together. Enhanced? To what extent? Felton threw his voice to Palmer. "Doctor, how thorough an exam do you need? Full physical or general?"

Chris raised an eyebrow. We are all getting our preliminary physicals today?Well, he had never been shy, but he certainly did not expect to disrobe in front of Ana or anyone at all today. Still, he suposed that they were all going to need updated physicals eventually, so he peeled off the close fitting shirt while averting his eyes from the only female in the room. Chris then removed his pants, and briefly examined his body to make sure everything was in order. He was proud of his body and he had no problem showing it off, but for some reason he felt that he should have worked his abs a little better this morning. He almost glanced over to Ana, but thought better of it. He wanted to see her body, that was an undeniable fact. It could even be pointed out that in swim training he had seen her in less, but in this environment it seemed more intimate, and therefore more like he would be dishonoring her by peeking. He also wanted to avoid getting caught and embarrassing himself.

Chris thought about the different aspects of training and the different exercises she was going to have to endure to fully test her new capabilities. Racing through the wilderness, sparring, survival skills, many things were going to be affected by this transformation. His mind did stray briefly to the less honorable benefits that advanced reflexes brought, but he quashed the thoughts before they dominated his mind and body. geez, I really need to get a grip. Chris decided to preoccupy himself with strategic positions and the last few battle exercises to get his mind off the underdressed attractive woman less than ten feet away from him.

His brown eyes had glazed over, displaying a muddy brown. Palmer’s voice caught his attention, the glaze broken Korey offered the man a light smile. “I’ll be sure to grab some,” he said, offering it not as a programmed response but a promise. The President’s men were crawling through every nook and cranny, soon they’d be moving through the pipes and tubes of the city’s underground networks… the Resistance wouldn’t be safe down here forever. Though hunting for a supply of ground coffee beans stood on the opposite side of caution the Resistance needed such occasional pick-me-ups. It was far beneath what the men and women of the resistance deserved but maybe it would remind them for a moment of the life they fought for. That life that seemed so long ago before the government’s power had turned sour and corrupt.

At Felton’s request Korey blinked stirring out of whatever dredged stupor he had been induced to. His eyes drifted to Chris as he watched the man plunge straight into the order, Korey was left to follow suit without muttering a single rebuttal or comment of distaste.

Korey’s flesh was a canvas spread with thick slick layers of burned, pocketed, and brutalized flesh. Doctors would scrunch their noses and give sympathy and others would gawk and stare unconditionally as their active imaginations were endowed with violent inspiration. Penny sized craters marked where small arms fire had torn unforgivingly through his flesh half a dozen times. The spy’s flesh was profoundly misshapen by the remnants of shrapnel that had torn through his backside. Third degree burns had left his right leg nothing but pink and white sheaths of skin wrapped around bone. His toenails hadn’t even grown back. Friction, glass, knives, concrete, beatings, torture, and countless surgeries had their own markings and mementos. Korey had given his resilient body to the resistance’s fight again and again. Each time he recovered to fight again.

The man tried to smile but it was dim, lopsided, and awkward. It was a failed pathetic attempt to break the ice. Korey’s spine tingled as he looked about the sterile medical room, anticipation and anxiety eating away. The spy went about folding his things his tight wound muscles flexing with his muscles corresponding movements. He blinked, again, and again. Finally he set aside his things on a nearby gurney each article of clothing folded, his sidearm and spare magazines resting on top.

Korye’s mind pulled itself into a momentary hallucination. Barely three second had passed but a thousand images had taken a hold of his mind. This was really happening. They were about to change, forever.

"Be my guest doc." Ana had shrugged her shoulders as well in response to Felton's request to begin touching her in order to begin with the standard physical examinations. She sat still and remained quiet unless asked differently. The stethoscope he had produced to use on her had caused her to start slightly as the metal was quite cool against her skin. "Sorry." She mumbled the apology as he listened to her heartbeat. The rest of it all was still painless and quite easy. It was when Felton requested that she remove her outer layer of clothing and spoke of a more 'thorough examine', caused a brow to raise quizzically. "Uhm. Just how thorough are we talking here?" As she posed the question to Felton, she bent to unlace her boots and pulled them off. It was not the actual issue of modesty that concerned her for the moment, but the idea of feeling like she was a lab rat on full display for the others in the room as she may have been prodded further.

Standing to slip out of her pants, she folded them and placed it atop the chair she had been sitting on prior. Next she slipped off her shirt and folded that too, resting them on her pants. Aside from the feeling of being even more chilled than when they all had originally entered the lab, she was feeling comfortable. This was one lucky lady that never had an issue with being in her own skin. There was nothing extreme about her physique. She stood at five feet, ten inches with a slender build. Sure she had muscle definition, but Ana preferred to keep her frame more slight as she was better situated to moving quickly. Muscle was necessary for being able to throw punches and take one or two hits along with other benefits. It was all her favor of speed that had always gained her the upper hand with making an impact on how much she caused someone to hurt.

The few only real distinguishing marks on her otherwise flawless body was an old ragged and still angry looking welt of a scar on the right side of her abdomen, and what appeared to be three lines staring on her left shoulder and flowing over the shoulder blade. Aside from these there were the usual faint scars from training that one accrued over time and would otherwise vanish with more of it spent.

"Whatever you need doc, just go for it and get it over with." She sighed out the words without looking at him or anyone else in the room. Ana was about to make some comment about privacy when she turned her frosty gaze onto the other two males who had gotten the same request quite suddenly from Felton, and was shocked to see that they had already obliged. Blinking in disbelief at how quickly they had undressed, she shook her head slowly and rested a hand on her hip as she looked between the two of them. It was noted that Chris was doing his best to not look at her, or at least not directly for the time being while the three of them were practically baring it all. The notion was rather nice, though Korey seemed to be a little more at ease with what was happening.

"My Chris, you certainly couldn't resist jumping at that chance to take off all your clothes for us now could you?" It was a weak attempt in order for him to not feel as awkward she supposed by making a friendly jest, a poor one at that as she was not very good at this whole socializing thing. In the meantime while they waited, Ana had no trouble with looking over the other two forms, as she was a touch curious as to what she would eventually be training with.

Both had strong physiques that were uniquely beautiful, but differed greatly. At least this was what she had deduced while looking at them carefully. Where Chris had skin that appeared to be smooth, and unblemished, still remaining untouched by Harrow's forces, Korey was the opposite. Korey's body was a permanent map of what he had endured to get here, and what he still continued to put himself through. Tempted to ask why he would do such a thing when he gave so much of himself already, she thought better of it and averted her gaze. If anything she was probably making the other two uncomfortable with her shameless staring.

Kendra slowly slid the luscious, genetically enhanced to be oversized strawberry into her mouth. She thenbit down, letting the slightest bit of juice escape her also genetically enhanced (although slightly) lips. She took a long slow swipe of her tongue to clean them off, and then she seductively sucked the remaining juices from each finger, eyeing the pretty-boy Lieutenants sitting at the table across from her. Each one was cute, each one obviously infatuated with her. She relished this power over men. She revelled in their blatant stares, their various tactics, and their fumlbling over themselves just to get her to notice them. But most of all, she craved the feeling that rose up when she turned brother against brother. She loved the idea that a man could betray a friend he has had for years just for the miniscule chance at being invited into her bed. She also liked to put on a show, and see how many men she could hypnotize at the same time. But this was a time where she wanted a quck romp before a long journey, so she had little time to play. Still, she would play with the little time she had. She unzipped the top several inches of her tight shirt slowly, showing more than the regulations would normally allow, but who was going to report her? She laughed to herself, then winked and waved at the boys. She slowly leaned forward to whisper to the Junior Lieutenant directly across from her. He was her mark from the start, with his jet-black hair and auburn eyes. He seemed to be the most calculation of the group, but, like all men, even he could be led around by his fifth limb.

I want to to start a fight. I will be yours for five minutes for every one minute of fighting that transpires. Oh, and don't worry about guards.

Kendra leaned back, puffed her chest out seductively, and yawned. At that signal, all the guards took a smoke break, and almost on cue, the Junior Lieutenant took his tray with hot chicken in it and smashed it across the face of the Lieutenant to his right. The recipient of this abuse, a blonde, shouted profanities, and held his hand to his nose. Then the third officer, who had light brown hair, took his pistol and swung at the dark haired one. Dark hair ducked, punching brown hair in the gut. The wind immediately left brown hair's lungs, and dark hair took advantage of the situation, and used the tried and true "smash his face with a tray" tactic and hit him right in the nose, hard. The crunch of the nose receding into Brown hair's face was sickening to most, but actually got Kendra slightly aroused. Black hair then turned to face Blondie, but was then greeted by a chair to his face, knocking him out cold. Blondie turned to Kendra, blood streaming from his face, and informed her that he heard what she whispered to Black.

Honey, that was before you guys got each other's pretty faces all fucked up. Who would want to be with that?

Kendra then walked outside, and immediately wrapped herself around the head guard, inviting him into her tent, as promised.

Palmer had wished to have more privacy for each other them, but Felton seemed to be equally as nervous and making a bit of rash orders. Sighing, he measured each other them visually, in taking data of psychical appearance and possible injection sites. "Felton, I would prefer that the physical examinations were more thorough after we got each alone for their own. Just mark the basics, catalogue scars and blemishes, check for good veins."

There was the issue of each of their personal privacies and Palmer wanted them to be comfortable, which clearly not everyone seemed to be, judging on their body language. "We will separate just Ana to begin with after you finish these. I'd like to talk to each person individually before we actually do anything, but because Chris and Korey aren't today, just give them the basic examination. After all, Ana is the only current absolute." He gave her a slightly pitying glance, feeling bad that she was the guinea pig for an experiment that wasn't even sure to work.

-------

Idiris had rested fitfully the night she returned, no longer used to the sounds of a busy military fort. She had gotten up rather early for the journey, preparing herself, mostly mentally, for the task in front of her. Infiltrating and the like.. It was a very showy job that she was almost shocked to be granted for. After all, she was mostly intel.

But how else could anyone ever find their way through the tunnels? The younger girl left her tent after strapping on her boots and pulling on her non-military issue jacket. She couldn't be in uniform when in the tunnels, seeing as how that would be a dead give away. Her long blonde hair was braided in the back, little stray pieces falling from behind her ears.

The fight that had broke out caused her to give it attention, but it didn't last long, thankfully. Of course, Kendra had been seen there and Idiris didn't find it shocking that she would be. That woman had a knack for causing men to go mental with lust. Not speaking a word, the young lieutenant made sure to eat, packing away several pieces of fruit in her knap sack for the journey.

"Understood." Felton immediately went to work. He started to take a good look at Ana. He noted some good veins on her arms, a few on her legs and two particularly prevalent veins on her hands. He marked down a flawless body, physically in-shape and nearly no blemishes. He noted the color and placement of the scar and asked, "How long ago did you receive that?", pointing at the scar. He wrote down note after note and made sure to get everything.

Calm down. You have to get this right. Anything that you mess up on will ruin the experiment and possibly kill her. Don't fuck this up.

Felton glanced over Ana's shoulder towards the men. "Chris, if you would." He waved him over and started to write down his physical description. "Thank you, Ana. Go ahead and wait near Palmer, please." As soon as Chris made his way over to him, "Please describe all the scars: where they were obtained, from what, and how long ago."

As he was waiting for Chris to arrive, he wrote down some notes on Korey's physique. Just some quick notes to get the ball rolling faster for Palmer.

He couldn't help but feel sorry for Korey. He had been through so much and for so little. It was so hard for Felton to understand this.

Chris laughed nervously at Ana's comment, and let his eyes slide over to peek at Ana's response to his body. Of course, he could not tell for certain how she felt through her usually stoic face, but he felt that she may like what she saw. For a fleeting moment, he let his gaze fall; he certainly liked what he saw...
Chris shook his head slightly, attempting to banish the thoughts that often tried to surface when he was with her and they were both clothed, let alone now, both half naked and a handful of feet apart. The very thought of her touch sent tingles to his fingertips..
(clearing throat) Okay, Doc. This one on the inside of my hand is from my foolhardy attempt at cooking, as is this one on my thumb, and the one on my big toe. As for the small one here (pointing at the small scar on the left outer edge of his lips, speaking in a much more hushed tone) is the one i got from that, uh, unfortunate incident with the Turkish barmaid, you know, the one with the piercings? (normal volume) Other than that, I have had the great fortune of only small, miniscule, shrapnel scars from the few times we have had all out battles with the enemy.
Chris realized that although the rebels had indeed been growing, they had not really fought the Dark Presidency head on very often. That just wasn't a good idea, so the spies had actually done most of the fighting from the shadows, and that was all the more clear in the sharp contrast. This was actually representative of all that the spy division had gone through, and Chris knew that in the future, he needed to slack up on their load. This stuff had to not just work, but be a tremendous success. It would not only allow the spies to do their job easier, but then the soldiers could really do their job, and the spies would be even more effective with the distraction of a frontal assault. He couldn't put any more pressure on Palmer, though. That guy had enough on his mind.

Ana was suddenly glad for Palmer's decision of splitting them up. Despite being excited over the anticipation of the procedure that would take place, she was relieved that she would not be constantly watched over by the others in the room. Sure they were her comrades in the war, but that did not mean they got the privilege of getting a sneak peek of just what was to be in store for them. Then again, different procedures, different mutations could mean diverse reactions as whether their DNA was able to bond correctly to the rearranging that was about to take place.

She saw the small glance that Plamer had given her, his eyes belying his emotions to her once again even in that brief moment. Inhaling deeply she closed her eyes and let it out slowly and quietly, it was due to that look that anger had begun to flood her being. She was growing weary over the nervousness in the room. Sure she understood why Palmer was feeling the way that he was as this was a large leap for humankind and a key turning point in this war, but if she was feeling comfortable with having her original genetic map manipulated why the unease from everyone else? This was her purpose after all. Perhaps it was an overraction on her part and she should be reassuring Palmer that she was confident that all would go well. The problem was, that just was not in her nature.

Felton asking her about her two most prominent marks caused her to subconsciously touch the one on her abdomen, slightly turning her head to look down at the ugly thing.
"Just an accident on my part from a knife during a training mission. The one on my shoulder is just... Another accident as well from a mission." She shrugged her shoulders and dropped her hand to look at Felton.

Her scars' history were not from anything nearly as colorful or brutal as Korey's or Chris for that matter. His hushed tones indicated that something made him a bit sheepish about the scars near his mouth. At that Ana had a few subject matters narrowed down as to what they may have been from, not that it was any of her concern.

Ana had decided to move closer to where Palmer was and asked, "So I'll be out for a week? Do you really think that it will take that long for the procedure and for me to recover? Finally, is there anything else that you wanted to go over with me personally before we started this?" She thought about lending some sort of comforting words to him but though better of it as she would undoubtedly botch the moment of trying to alleviate some of his stress.

Felton continued writing down notes and making measurements on Chris: height, weight, arms, legs, chest, etc. He was very impressive as a man. Very impressive, indeed. Felton kept his pen to the paper to try and keep working. He only really took in small details about where they had gotten any scars or blemishes. I don't need a novel.

Felton took out his stethoscope and started taking the last of his measurements. He listened to Chris's heartbeat and breathing. "Thank you, Chris. Go ahead and wait where you were before."

Felton took out a new sheet of paper and started to write more notes down. He leaned over and signaled to Korey. "If you please." Felton immediately started to write down locations of each scar.

Felton couldn't help but feel so much pity for the poor scarred man that had done so much. He tried to shrug it off and continue on with the examination. "Tell me how and when you got these scars."

Felton looked over to Palmer and tried to figure out what was going on in his head.

Straightening his back when Ana approached him, Palmer put on the casual smile that he knew he could pull off. "A week, at the least. It's not just a simple in and out procedure. Tests need to be run in order to make sure that you aren't suddenly going to collapse in the middle of battle. It won't exactly be a week of bed rest, if that's your concern." It wasn't so much as the look in her eyes that told him he needed to be honest with her, but rather, that he felt as if he had to. "You could easily die from this. After all, you are essentially like a rodent, when being a test subject. I'm near positive that your molecular changes and genetic shifts will occur properly, but I'm not 100%." When he spoke, his voice was low, but the sound of concern faded from it. Just running over the specs in his head while he talked made him more confident. It was the overthinking part that didn't necessarily help.

He definitely wasn't done talking to Ana, but he glanced to Felton for a moment, giving him a slight nod of approval. Taking Felton, one of the few qualified medical practicing people, on as his medical help was a good idea, he hoped. Even if the boy was a tad high strung and seemed to lack basic social skills. At least, that was at first glance. Palmer figured that Felton would lighten up, in due time, but he wasn't positive. It was more a matter of needed to keep privacy, even down underground, that Palmer valued, even if he seemed to be one of the only ones.

Palmer went over to his desk, motioning Ana over with a slight wave of his hand. "These are outlines of what I expect to happen, and the order in which the procedure will be performed. If you could look them over, familiarize yourself with them.. I tried to write them as straight forward and non-science like as possible, for easy understanding. If you have any questions, please ask." The documents outlined the potential side effects ranging from numbness to potential death and possibility of sprouting limbs from no where. He didn't take chances, clearly, of not mentioning things that had happened in his testing phase with the rodents.
