I read both manga and anime. I always read the original production first though, if light novel, then light novel first, if manga then manga...

Detective Conan's plot is... draggy. It has MANY filler cases. DX

I have been meaning to watch Detective Conan. Is it good?

that really depends on what you like.
Conan is kind of light hearted, the tricks and logic of the cases are logical and believeable. But lack of creativity in motive. I care less for motive though.
The most unlogical part would be how 17 year old become 7 and various gadgets that assist him. XD

lol, I like light hearted and logical on stressful days... like today >_< So that would be something I would enjoy I think... minus the various gadgets....

Oh yeah, though I say light hearted, still those are murders, can't be all light hearted in that way. The characters is what I mean, light hearted. XD The most fun cases are with Kid, the Phantom Thief. No bloody murder, it is a battle of brains!

Kind of like Leverage in terms of stealing. But Kid case is reeeeeaaaaally minority.

Another anime I liked when I was younger was Sailor Moon. Now that I am older, I have enjoyed Pretear, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. Right now I am working through both Hyouka and Fate Stay Night. Super excited to see AIR and Clannad After Story too.

I haven't seen it before. The art style makes me think of One Piece. Is it by the same person?

Pretear sounds familiar, but I remember what it was about.
I think I had a few of the mangas of Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, but never read it because I was missing too many of them.

I have no idea. I never did look at who illustrates these. I just really like them ^_^ Don't mind a little romance in my anime, though ones without it are great too.

I don't mind the romance, I just hate it when they drag them out too long.
I have read a lot of shojo manga, usually end up annoyed by how long it takes for the stories to progress.

If you haven't read One Piece you should try it sometime. It is a great adventure.
