it's pretty unfair. someone can have the same classes and the same grades , except one person can have a slightly lower grade than another person and then that person is considered 'better'. Pretty sad.

It really is.
I think if classes were super small so that there was individual understanding possible with each student, that could change, and everyone not stood by the same measure. But that's a faraway dream especially as people being people will still be judgemental. There will be those participating in this that would be broad minded and further it, and others who could ruin it.

it's not just smaller classes that we need. We need better teachers. Good teachers are hard to come by.
Very rare. A teacher who makes the material clear and doesn't make you hate the class.

That's what I meant by those that can further it or ruin it. Although students play a part too, it's mainly teachers. And the lack of controllability is what's difficult. You won't just find it hard to get good teachers, sometimes it's hard to tell who will further and who will ruin.

I feel that people who go to college tho are more controlled than those who go to highschool. People are paying for the classes so they won't be as disruptive. If there's a good teacher, students won't hate the class and won't drop :/
which is usually a problem here. Lots of students drop because they don't like the teacher.

I see. So the controllability would be in terms of the teacher...

...and that's still hard

Not everyone is perfect lmao. I feel that we can learn a lot of the things in class, at home. Because it's by reading textbooks. We can read those at home. Right now, i'm not learning anything that i can't teach myself. I literally am watching lectures on youtube on how to do problems. And just teaching myself. Because my teacher is too confusing haha

They are. Especially the mean confusing ones. The ones that like to watch their students struggle and fail

Even worse are the ones that like to bully. Even when they know you work your ass off. That's worse than leaving us to our doom because it makes things so much more stressful.

Teachers that bully are scumbags. When you ask a question and they say "It's SO easy how do you not get it?" and they make you feel stupid for asking. :/ that's not a teacher.

Tell me about it. Sometimes they go out of their way for opportunities to put you down. I had the scummiest physics teacher in high school. I thought she'd at least leave off bullying me in the final board practical exam, but nope. I finished my experiments, so I went to the other instructor and asked her softly when I could take my viva, since I'd finished. I'm talking to this OTHER person but this scumbag yells at me 'why will she know' and that the external examiner would decide. She yelled IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING EXAM, there in the exam hall, when I wasn't even talking to her.

And my friend burned her finger while titrating oxalic acid. She put ointment and stuff and continued. Obviously she wouldn't be able to work at the same pace because she burned her finger, but the teacher said she was working too slow and 'wasn't holding the apparatus properly' and made her EMPTY OUT THE FLASK AND START AGAIN. Seriously. You KNOW she burned her finger, how the hell do you expect her to hold things and do things like before?

Oh, and that physics scumbag? On the farewell, last time she's ever going to see me, and she says 'Why did you come late?' That's it. The only thing she said. I should've said to her face, 'My parents drove me here so why don't you ask them?'

Sorry for the random rant this is why I made a hangout for textwalling lol

That sounds like the worst teacher. I've had teachers that made kids in highschool cry. It was horrible. :/

*teacher gives insane amount of work due by the end of the class on top of reading plus homework after every class and only starts making it a bit less work because they get tired of students complaining*

Fortunate things about not owning a pet: not owning their mess.

Oh, I forgot about that philosophy. Set the bar really high at entry to separate the truly interested ones from the rest. I like that philosophy, but being the student in that situation is very stressful.

Ugh, I couldn't do it. Even if I liked dogs. But I don't like taking care of anything in general.

Keeping our house clean was a priority, so pets weren't allowed. Besides fish. We had lots of fish.
