Different cookies for different sites. Like if you set your computer to remember you on Gaia, you won't be logged out until you say so or until you clear your browser's cache (I do support on another site, apparently I automatically try to help people with problems like this ^^; sorry if its annoying)

I just recieved my sixth candy and I received the clue for day 1 XD that seems strange....

However I will decide if I should get yesterdays event item or keep saving up for todays later.

Glad to hear you know what to fix. Its an automatic thing now, I've been in support for almost a year so whenever I hear of problems I try to trouble shoot >< I think I scare some people when I do that though.
