It was a rather lonely alleyway, plus it was night time. Silence surrounded all the three individuals present. Nothing seemed to go wrong, neither of the two noticed that they were followed... at least until Coren did a marvellous job and tripped over nothing. With the noise he produced by accident, he caught both the attention of the huntress as also the vampire not far off from where he now was. Defencelessly, he sat there on the cold ground with wide open eyes. What should he do? What should he say? There were countless questions streaming in, but not a single one of them was he able to answer. He couldn't even focus to what the circumstances had given him; even as the vampire suddenly went for him, he remained on his spot unmoving; still shocked from what happened. Although his eyes gave him away as lifeless and clueless, his heart on the other hand pounded, pounded and pounded as though it would burst.

Without having Coren react, the man was already right in front him, ready to strike--! As in an instant, the man's visage disappeared from his sight and the angelic purple haired figure stood there proudly. Yes, she saved him, once again. Only seconds he needed after the rescue to break his trance and get his brain working. He didn't know what exactly happened, but it was clear that once again, she did a heroic act that Coren would never forget.

Yet he shuddered upon her tune of voice directed to the man. The first time he heard her voice, he was sure that he felt warmth, although playfully conveyed. He could be assured of that she meant good; but listening to her words now made him hesitant and uncomfortable. But above all, he was frightened. What, why, how? Countless of question he posed in his thought while passively watching the fight with horror displayed on his face. He despised the doubts he had surround the figure he called 'angel' but he also detested the fact that he might be the one causing her to act like this. Because she wanted to protect him, she needed to kill. Was that it?

The strong scent of blood was in the air, almost made him dizzy. His sharp smelling senses was killing him, almost suffocated him even. He only wanted to leave, to go far away; dig a hole and hide in it. He was sick and tired and fed up about everything that he learnt of the world; it was enough for his inexperienced being to handle. It was enough.

As the purple haired girl approached him, he twitched surprised. Tensed, he watched her do circles surround him. Suspense took his whole person, made him frightened despite her comforting like and excuse searching words. It was her job? Coren knew about the conflicts of vampires and humans, as well as the purple haired girl was a vampire. Yet the outside world was still new to him and plus he didn't really get why her job lead her to kill her own kind.

Utterly confused (that made him rather tired for using his brain too much), no words was able to escape from his lips as he stared up to the huntress with a pitiful look displayed on his face. Well at least that's how a stranger could translate his gaze directed to the purple haired girl. And the arrival of others didn't really make it better for Coren. He sure did follow the conversation, but it wasn't like he understood even bits of it. He surely was surprised that the purple haired girl took his hand. He didn't protest or anything although the blood all over her tickled his nose so much it hurt as he wasn't completely against her touch. He rather liked it even, although only slight wonder was expressed.

He disliked the disinterested older vampire. There was something like an instinct telling him to keep a safe distance from him; plus overly beautiful man weren't to trust. He spoke out of experience here. Basically he was just glad that he left the scene. For the other vampire, he wasn't really sure. His overly familiar way to speak bothered Coren, not to speak from the manner he approached the purple haired girl. Suzie Mio. Yes, he remembered her name, repeatedly uttered it in his thoughts so he won't forget.

Feeling rested and clear enough about everything, Coren stood up cautiously. Only then he noticed that he was bigger than the purple haired girl, and it rather pleased him. For seconds it seemed that Coren stared up to the rooftops, wondering of an unknown presence hiding there but soon lowered his gaze to concentrate on the scene in front of him, having his senses all confused by the mass of blood.

By Tommy's words, his tightened his grip on the huntress' hand and looked up the massive figure of Tommy. A question concerning a certain situation/ action in the third person... he read that such thing can actually be referred to the one posing the question. Basically, the third person was supposed to be himself... Coren now saw Tommy in a whole different light, therefore spoke up without holding back. "That's stealing. Additionally your action may indirectly kill people." His voice was monotone, almost emotionless. His eyes focused and calm, as if no tension ever existed. "And doing a crime because you refuse to drink the provided fake blood is egoistical and childish." Those words were said with such an indifferent way that one may think there was mockery hiding along the lines. Yet, that wasn't exactly the case. Coren was just too honest, painfully so. Like a kid scolding a grown-up, yes, that'd be the best how to refer to the scene.

Oblivious about how his words could stir a fight, his gaze wandered to Suzie. He was grateful to her, even though she frightened him at first. She was doing the killing for the sake of others, right? She couldn't be bad, no, Coren believed she was not. Then he did a peck on her cheek. Just like that. It came so suddenly out of nothing, pretty much spontaneously. "Thank you." A sweet voice was heard and a smile displayed. A kiss was a form of gratitude, was it? At the very second he had remembered that he read that once in a book, he did it. As simple as that.

Suzie jokingly saluted to Edward, "Aye sir!" There was something off about him, but she didn't question it. As the disinterested man left the alleyway, she fidgeted slightly. He was dangerous-- something about that vampire made her feel sick to her stomach, and she was glad he left like he did. The hidden one made himself known and stepped out; much taller than she was, and looked a lot more muscular. She realized the other man's aura seemed to have outshine his, because now Tommy's aura matched hers, if maybe slightly stronger. At his compliment towards her, she nodded proudly, "This vampire was'a toughie, 'felt good gettin' him off the streets."

She turned her head and looked at her mess, now how was she going to clean that up? Ideas whirled around her head, cutting him up, stuffing him in a garbage bag, putting him in the dumpster nearby, etc. Before she could act on any of them, a handkerchief was put in front of her. She put her (bloody) knife back under her skirt and took the cloth, giving Tommy a smile, Thanks man, you saved me there! She wiped the blood off her face-- most of the open wounds on her face almost healed by now, save for the one on her leg. At his next question, she peeked out from the handkerchief and tilted her head to the side, wondering. However, before Suzie could even answer, she felt Coren's hand tighten around hers. Woah, the guy spoke! Wait a second he's taller than me! So unfair! She put the handkerchief on her shoulder before she patted the brunette beside her, "Hey, you don't need to be like that...." She mumbled, though her words didn't make a difference.

She pouted, I didn't even get to answer the question.... she complained in her head, visibly sulking about the whole ordeal. The girl didn't really have any objections to what he was saying, so she decided to add upon the male's words, "It probs does count as stealin', but I don't come after peeps like that. Thas for my human friends to handle, them 'petty crimes,' they call 'em." She pointed her thumb to herself and proudly stated, "I'm huntin' down the meanest of tha mean 'round these parts. Y'know, the serial bloodsuckin' rulebreakers! But only on my list, I ain't one to go round willy-nilly, my friends tol' me it wasn't good." By friends she obviously mean the human hunters, but most humans were her friends, so to her it made no difference what she called them.

She almost forgot Coren was next to her and even holding her hand, so when her head turned to face him, his lips were already on her cheek. Like a thermometer quickly rising to the top, Suzies eyes widened and her cheeks flared a dark red. Questions buzzed around her head, making her dizzy. Why did this man kiss her on the cheek, what was his intention? At the thank you, she almost exploded with embarrassment, how stupid, getting so worked up about a thank you. Cupping the cheek Coren kissed her on, she smiled nervously, "W-well yo' welcome...? I g-guess?" The foreign act of affection thoroughly perplexed the smaller girl, and she kept thinking, He's probably not from 'round 'ere, com'on Suz keep yo shit togethar!

Suzie was going to inquire him about why he kissed her, but then a clap caught her attention. It was a fellow hunter, though human. She wasn't very familiar with the hunter, as he was a newbie, but he pointed to the body and his nose, and she knew that the scent had probably attracted attention from vampires and they had called him. Nodding to the hunter, she tugged on the mans hand. Giving him a smile, she coaxed him,"We 'oughta go now, they gonna clean up," She turned to Tommy as well, "You too man!" She pulled Coren out of the alleyway and with her hand on Tommy's shoved him out at the same time, though not before picking up the knife she tossed aside and putting it somewhere under her skirt.

Now out of the smelly alley, she saw there were a couple other hunters on the scene too. One came up; a fellow vampire, and wrinkled his nose, "Damn Suz, you'd think you'd be a little more clean by now." He handed her a bag with what was assumed to be clothes in them. Taking the bag gratefully, she saw a clean cardigan, fluffy skirt and new shoes, inside (All taken from her locker).

With an excited smile, she quickly let go of Coren and took off her fancy top; revealing a black tank top underneath. She slipped on the cardigan, and went to take off her skirt. Upon removing them, it revealed shorts underneath all the fluff, and the weapons that were belted around her legs. Knives of every shape and size were sheathed around her legs, and they quickly when out of sight when Suzie pulled on the new skirt. After putting on the last item, clean shoes, she turned back to Coren and Tommy, grinning, "So you two! Now that I'm back-in-action, what'cha wanna do?" She looked from Coren to Tommy eagerly, though was giving Tommy a bit of a distrusting evil eye since he was a vampire. Coren was still a human after all, there was always something suspicious about vampires when humans were around. At least to her there was.

The further into town the brighter the lights got, the stronger the smell of beer, cigaret smoke, and day old trash. People moved about in a different flow then when the sun was burning high in the sky. Some rushed off to the safety of their homes while others gathered in groups laughing loudly into the night and moving about with out a care in the world. Moonlight lite up alley ways as a shadow cut across from one building to the next. From her perch on the corner of the churches roof the red haired human could hear the sounds of two of the local drunks stumbling home. She had gotten a late start and was pushing forward to find her mark.

Earlier that night in a small room on the top floor on an inn the once orphan Adaline Weaver prepped for her nightly routine. Long dark auburn hair had been pulled back into the tight fish tail braid, tight black pants covered to just below her knee by a pair of sturdy well loved boots. A dark leather jacket hid the array of knives-mostly- from view. The outfit had been picked for functionality and stealth. To say nothing about how the materials clung to her enough that the older woman who had been her last foster mom would have had a fit.

For the last four nights she had been following a single girl, human by all outward appearances. There was just something off about the blonde girl that raised the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. Vampires seemed drawn to her as well as her to them. She was an oddity and one that had led Weaver to several nest in town.

Now hazel eyes were scanning the streets below passing over a group of twenty somethings as the loudly cheered into the night. Celebrating something or other. From the light shinning down in one of the upper windows she could see into the alley net to the bakery. Other then a pile of clothes and newspaper gathered around a homeless man- and her nose scrunched up at the sense memory of that smell- it was empty. It was a quiet night and that put her on edge.

It wasn't an unusual rushing noise and if she had been a normal twenty eight year old she night have written it off as the sound of a dog or other such night time noise. But the sound had a tinge of a grunt to it, a fight, but the thuds of flesh hitting flesh were coming to fast to be a brawl between to drunker. Vampires.

Pivoting of the toes of her left foot she twisted around and took off towards the sounds of fighting. Two rooftops and an intersection if her ears and memory were right. They were of course, she had spent hours standing on top of the tallest building in town memorizing the lay out. She was a human going against monsters with inhumanly tightened senses. Passing over the roof tops with ease the gap between buildings gave her pause. She didn't enjoying traveling on the ground while she hunted, less foot traffic n chance of bystanders getting caught up in the fight. Moving half ways back up the roof- the bank- Adaline took one deep breath and ran towards the roof ledge.

When jumping off building she always got that feeling for a few brief seconds like her internal organs were rearranging themselves. It was that moment of free fall before her body did what she wanted it to do twisting her her back so that her feet tumbled over her head she let the momentum and weight of her boots pull her down. She had a small oepning for this to work she was either going to land on the light post or break her legs. The toe of her boot grazed the cold metal on her way down and without giving her heart enough time to sink into her stomach the reached out and grapes the bar swinging her body around so that she crouched on the top. Deep lungfuls of air were being pulling t her body and slightly wider eyes took in the scene a little ways off. The fight was over and...oh well that was just dumb luck.

In an alley about two streets down and four turns away from what was left of the fight, probably a vampire on vampire if the amount of blood was anything to go by. Personal she didn't understand them killing off their own kind but it made her ob much easier. Either way in the flash f the most unnatural blond she had only seen on n that particular girl. Giving her heart and lungs time to regroup after that near miss jump Weaver made her way along the light post dropping off of it unto the awning of the deli. There would be some scuff marks there but she doubted anyone would notice.

Slipping unnoticed by a bunch of vampires- the humans in the group stayed her hand from reaching for her blades- was actually a little trickier then pulling off impromptu gymnastics in the air. there was the fact that her heart was till slightly beating a little to fast and she had been told several times since her late teens she smelled positively human. She had never really got a handle on what human smelled like and since everyone who had told her that had ended up with a blade embedded in some part of their body she never fond out.

Ten minutes and mental grumbling she was pressed against the side of a wall listening to girl, Marin and the male vampire. " I can do whatever I want."

At the males words Weaver unscathed two long daggers from their place at her hips rounding the corner to stare at the scene before her. Evan as a human she cold practically taste the fear coming off the girl. She looked like a little doll being held by the school yard bully.

"I think you need to let her go now"

Marin wasn't sure what to do, though she didn't have time to think about it before she heard a female voice ahead of her; behind the vampire. Annoyed, the vampire released Marin and turned around. When he saw the second woman standing there with daggers, he smiled. It was a cocky smile, and a hungry one.

"Mmm, two human girls in one alley. How lucky is that?" he spoke, though barely audible as it was mostly to himself. He licked his lips at the hunter and took a few steps toward her. "You're awfully small, and female to be a hunter," he remarked, moving closer. "Put your daggers away and surrender your blood now, and I'll be very gentle," he said, smile widening as he stopped walking just out of arms reach from Adaline.

The vampire was overly arrogant, which would ultimately be his downfall. He reached out to take away one of the blades...

Meanwhile, Marin peered around the vampire with lapis lazuli colored orbs, worried. Why would this woman have interfered like that? She was endangering herself, for Marin. It wasn't right. She would surely be killed, and for what reason? To protect a homeless nobody with no memory of her life?

She looked down at her bare feet, incredibly saddened. If she had just stayed in the diner, like she should have. Then this wouldn't be happening. She reached up to clutch the pendant around her neck. Why? Why was she called out here? Why was this woman risking her life for her? Why couldn't she remember who she was!?

The pair had begun to fight, and Marin couldn't bear it. "Stop, please!" she said, stepping forward, bare feet padding through puddles of grime and God only knows what. She reached out for the vampire, hoping to place herself between them.

"You can have it," she said, somewhat confidently. "My blood," she clarified, offering her wrist. She let go of him. "If you, if you promise to go away and leave us alone then...". She didn't much care what actually happened to her, but she certainly couldn't let something awful happen to this stranger who had tried to stand up for her. It just wasn't right.

The moonlight danced long the edge of the blade resting in her right hand. Her expression hardened eyes briefly scanning Marin to check for any injuries before her sole focus was on the vampire who had been moving closer. The corner of her lips twitched downward at the comet about her being so female for a hunter.

Tilting her head down she watched him through her bangs. The hand folding her left blade slackened as his hand drew closer. The timing had t be just right s that as the pale hand drew close enough she swung the blade in her right hand in a tight arch to remove the offending appendage. A quick flash and the vampire's hand was wrapped around her blade taunting smile in tact.

Swinging her left leg up she caught him in the stomach with all the force she could. Switching the grip of her left hand she swung up catching the tip of his nose as he dodged. The hand not holding on to her blade cut though the distant between their bodies faster then she could see connected with the right side of her hips.

Using all the strength she hand she pulled the blade back slicing into his palm before twisting her body the left and slicing up the side of his arm, fast but not quick enough to catch the back hand that he sent her way. Her whole body crashed into the side of the alley.

She world went sideways and she was sure she was sure she heard bells. No not bells the soft chm of Marin's voice. "Idiot." what was that girl doing.

The vampire was angrier now than he had been. He had merely been annoyed before, but now he was bleeding, and hurting, and that woman, it was her fault. He'd kill her. He'd drain her of all her blood and take Marin for desert.

She sliced his arm and he batted her away. He prepared himself to lunge, but the pale girl with strange lapis lazuli colored eyes was tugging at him now, and in his way. He snapped down at her, and she flinched, but he paused. She was actually offering herself? The girl wasn't right. But that worked in his favor. He needed blood to heal, and he was hungry anyway.

Blood seeped from his abdomen and dripped from both of his hands. He clutched the wrist aggressively, instantly. He didn't even think twice about it. He'd planned on draining them both, either way. He wasn't going to promise her a damn thing, though chances were he'd leave when he was done with Marin. But only because that other woman was a pain, literally. But who knew? Maybe he'd kill the hunter anyway, for fun. The nuisance.

His fangs pierced the soft flesh of Marin's wrist easily, and she let out a soft whimper. He was biting her rather viciously, unnecessarily. Still, something stirred inside her. Was this, familiar? She couldn't tell what she was feeling exactly. Blood, his and hers, ran down her arm and dripped from her elbow and wrist, the crimson liquid like the first rain drops of a metaphorical downpour. What would come of this now?

At the taste of Marin's blood on his tongue, the vampire clutched her tighter, making her wince. The taste was something like a fine wine, though sweet like candy, and so deliciously addictive, like a drug. After a moment, Marin began to register feelings that confused her at first, and she frowned deeply.

She was angry, and hurting, and wanted more blood. More! It was so good! But those weren't Marin's feelings, she realized. They were the vampire's. And as he drank more deeply of her, she found more to him than just those initial aggressive instincts. There were fears under that arrogant shell and terrible agonizing memories of his turning. He hadn't always been this way.

Marin felt genuinely bad for him. A great sorrow filled her for him that made her heart ache. He would certainly pick up on those feelings from her as well, but it didn't matter. The vampire was going to drain her completely. He couldn't stop himself now. But, something, in her blood... The vampire was feeling what he'd felt as a human now. The fears he'd once had of vampires. The love and affection of his parents and friends... Her blood was opening up feelings he'd long lost. Feelings of sympathy, and feelings of hope.

She reached up with her free hand to gently grasp his, desperately wanting to comfort him. The action startled him and his eyes snapped up to her, and he snarled. But finally, those fangs slid out of Marin's wrist, and the pair locked eyes for a moment. He looked something like a small child then. Confused, and scared.

He looked down at his stomach, where he'd been stabbed, and his hand where he'd been cut. He was healing quickly. Far too quickly; almost instantly. It was impossible. This girl. She wasn't normal. Was she even human? Anger registered on his face again as that hard outer shell replaced itself. What he would do now was anyone's guess.

He was still holding onto Marin's wrist, and he looked past her at the hunter, formulating a plan. Meanwhile, the vicious bite was gaping and blood still ran steadily from it. Marin hardly noticed though. She was busy watching the vampire. The broken spirit, the sorrowful soul. He didn't want to be this way at all. She knew for certain, she'd felt it. But what could she do? A great weight placed itself on Marin's heart as she realized how badly she wanted to save him, but having no idea how.

Blood bubbled around the tear on her lip her tongue poked out to clean it. Cold hazel eyes started into the harsh unnatural gold of the vampire still holing Marin's wrist like it could snap the poor girl at ay minute. The child was an idiot or had some twisted death with Weaver wasn't sure but either... "I didn't say our fight was finished." A few shorter hairs slipped out of her braid "And you didn't call time out."

Letting the leather jacket slip from her shoulders Weaver grabbed the hilt of a medium sized sword strapped to her back. Unsheathing the blade she angled the tip down towards the ground. She was very proud of her little blade. The steel was coated in a highly flammable grease and the slightly bit of friction would ignite the blade.

Keeping her eyes locked on his her expression hardened when she noticed how much blood was leaking out of the young blonde girl wrist. "I'm going to have to bandage that up so lets finish this." She was done messing around.

A small if mostly dead feeling tingled in the back of his mind at the smell of his sisters blood in the air. Even if that was the sent that had lead him to the alley in the first place. The copper sent had called him from his investigation of a known vampire hang out where he had been told Marin had been spotted.

Of course as luck would have it little Addy had lead him right to Marin. The male vampire had blood stains on his clothes and from the smell it was a mix of the hunters and...Marin? whosoever it was it was the most intoxicating sent.
Pulling his thoughts away from the blood and its smell he focused back in on the fight taking place in the alley. Seems she had gotten better.

(( urgh sorry it so short Some thing came up but I told you I would post tonight so I wanted to get it out.))

The vampire smiled at the hunter again, cocky as ever. His wounds were entirely healed, yet, hers weren't. He really liked that. He shoved Marin aside, knocking her down. He wasn't worried. They were at a dead end, and she was likely losing too much blood now anyway to get real far. Not like she'd die from such a little wound, but not like she'd go running off either. Besides, the girl cared too much about the both of the fighters,he picked that up in her emotions, at least.

He advanced on the hunter in the blink of an eye, suddenly behind her. If given the chance, he'd bring both of his hands up, before slamming them down on her back. He didn't want to kill her, not right away. Besides, what better punishment for the hunter than to drink her blood while she was still alive?

Marin pushed herself off the ground, a little shaky. "Please wait-," she tried to say, but her voice didn't come out as loud as she'd hoped it would. She didn't have the energy. She'd just have to get between them again, even at the cost of her own life. She couldn't let this happen. Why didn't the other woman just leave before? Someone was going to die, and it weighed on Marin's heart like a ton of bricks.

She took a shaky step forward and the alley spun. Marin frowned. What, was happening to her? She felt as if someone was pulling a rug out from under her feet. Her body was heavy, and suddenly, the ground was coming up to meet her awfully fast.

Tightening the grip on the blades handle with bot hands sh swung to the right making sure to catch the tip along the alley wall. A spark flew out and lite the sword a brilliant orange as she brought it up. Shadow danced along their faces as the sward swung up Cutting one of the vampires arms off at the elbow. The same arm that had once held a cut. She was positive she had drawn blood with that blow.

She had to handle the blade with two hands if she wanted to be able to get enough force to remove a limb but the fire help cut through the undead skin. An inhuman screech ripped out of his mouth the severed limb cradled to his body. His face contorted like that left no room to imagen him as anything but a vampire, "You little bitch, I'm going to keep you alive as I feed from you and then I'm going to make you watch as I drain your little friend."

" Promises, Promises"
Switching her hold on the handle she brought the flaming blade up once more and swung for his head. Pain rippled through the vampires face as the blade sliced through skin and bone the fame cauterizing the wound as it ripped the flesh.

Sweat dripped down the side of her face as the body hit the ground head of messy dark hair rolling away. Taking a moment to breathe Weaver looked over to where Marin had collapsed.

Marin opened her eyes, seeing a dimly lit room. She was laying on her side on a couch and had a blanket over her, though she hadn't put it there. Something fell from her hand that hung over the edge of the couch, and she peered down to see a rose on the floor now.

She sat up as the blanket fell back and delicate fingers plucked the rose from the floor. She inhaled the scent floating up from around the vivid red petals as they grazed her nose. When did he leave? she wondered, lapis lazuli eyes dancing over the room. But he hadn't.

He reached from behind the small lounge couch to take Marin's hand in his own, bringing the rose to her cheek where the silky petals stroked her delicate skin. She closed her eyes and leaned into the touch, holding their hands with her other.

"Marin...," he spoke gently. "Wake up." Marin frowned. She was already awake... wasn't she?

In reality Marin was still laying in the alley way unconscious, though her mind and senses were fooling her into believing otherwise. Her pendant glowed dully.

From the light of the alley- dimly lite from the lights on the street and the moonlight- she could see the uneven breath and the small drizzle of blood at the corner of Marin's forehead. Stabbing the blade into the body of the now headless vampire Weaver made her way over to the unconscious girl. There was a bruise forming on her hip that she could feel with every step and her head was still ringing from the blow she had taken against the side of the building.

Bending down to check the girl pulse the red head bit back a curse at slow pace her heart beat had. " Hey, kid wake up. You need to get that hand taken care of...wake up" Making sure not to jostle her to bad the hand on the blonds thin shoulder shook her.

From his shadow he watched as the hunter bent near his target trying to rouse her. His orders conflicted in his mind. Marin was in front of him easily obtainable since the only one who would be standing in his was already injured. However the smell of blood was becoming too strong...too alluring and he was not allowed to feed from her.

"Wake up, Marin...". Marin was really confused. This all felt so real. The rose that grazed her face, the smell, the touch of... she couldn't remember now. She turned to see the man behind her, but she suddenly became very dizzy. The room began to fade and she was falling again.

"Hey kid, wake up...", this time when she heard the voice, it was the voice of a female. The room was gone and there was only darkness. Marin stirred, and lapis lazuli eyes flitted open. She blinked the woman into focus. "What, happened?" she asked, very confused.

At least by now the blood would be slowing. Marin felt a dull throbbing in her wrist, and brought it up over her. Immediately she gasped, and sat straight up. It had been a bad idea. Her head swam again and everything started fading out into darkness once more, but Marin fought it. She blinked away the darkness, and looked around the alley, big eyes searching.

There, she found the heap of vampire body. Her eyes stung with tears held back. Marin's heart broke for the vampire. She'd seen inside him, and he wasn't so bad. At least, he hadn't always been. There was hope for him! But now he was dead.

She sniffed back tears and looked at the woman again. "Are you okay?" she asked, caring little about her own condition. Technically it was Marin's fault that all of this had happened. At least that's what she told herself. This woman probably hated her. She dropped her eyes to the alley ground.

Although she was looking ahead, with corner of her eye she observed tall man. Smile played on her lips at how simple, in all the good ways, Pierre seemed. All his good qualities were written all over him: he was kind, hard working, loyal and honest... Perhaps, a little too honest much to be butler for someone like her. Although Sylviane didn't dwell on how much depth his devotion to her had (but such things could not be taught, only earned and she couldn't have done that thoroughly yet), one direct question about her nature and he'd sputter, flushing and in his denial, reveal everything.

And for that, he'd remain oblivious of what she went through each month. Her burden had become truly her own to bear. Woman's smile nearly faltered at this reminder, but she composed herself quickly. Pierre's concern was touching, since it was more than mere words - he sincerely meant what he said. "Let me assure you that you have indeed made this move incredibly easy for me and remind you that I also want you to feel comfortable. Take some time off this weekend, go and explore the town if you'd like," she told him.

Not only she wanted him to rest, but it would also give her some freedom she needed to really settle in. Most of the staff would naturally take some time off during the weekend, beside the meals and that left house more to her than ever. At his excitement about food, Adelais laughed softly and nodded, quickening her pace so they could finally enjoy all that had been provided for them.

Meal went by nicely, she struck up small chat with some of the staff and praised chef's work plenty of times. She noticed that Tommy wasn't here, perhaps paying it more attention that she should. But there was something strange about him, unnerving even... With time, she'd discover it, Sylviane felt sure of that. After they had finished dinner, she stood up and let her staff know they all were free for the night. If she'd later need some tea or anything, she was fully capable of making it herself.

Quietly, she walked out in hall and pondered her options. She could go to her room and once again think over her plan for tomorrow and Sunday, but that was utterly dull... Suddenly, young woman spun on her heel and moved towards doors, picking up her jacket from coat hanger. A walk in park and perhaps quick drive to town to explore it under cover of darkness might help her restless mindset.

Tommy thought about that for a second before answering. "Well.. I was going to get a coffee cake, I hear they're delicious."

What was this world coming to? Revealing themselves to the world, no longer allowed to drink human blood? Desh's brow creased slightly. He held no particular love for humans or for vampires really, but humans were their food source. The life blood that fueled their very being. The vampire licked his lips, just the thought of that warm essence flowing down his throat was almost enough to make him hungry. So far, Desh was following the rules. For now at least. There had been a moment earlier where he almost had. Almost.

He had been walking along, though suddenly coming to a halt. The sounds of a fight, the scent of blood had filled the air. Well, perhaps such things hadn't filled the air, but he heard them, and he smelled them. The scent of blood was a very tantalizing scent, alluring. Not long after that scent, after the sounds of fighting were gone, the scent of vampire blood came to him. Desh grimaced. Vampire blood smelled horrible to him. It was a very unappetizing scent. Still that other, more alluring scent lingered. Desh began to follow it.

It led him to an alleyway. The scent so much stronger now, he licked his lips as he stepped on top of the fallen vampire, as if the body hadn't been there at all. It was an act of blatant disrespect to the dead creature. His eyes were on the two women, though that gaze did flicker towards the shadows for a moment. Only a moment, his steps carried him very close to the girls, his attention mostly on them. Desh stepped around the hunter and came close to the girl that was bleeding from her wrist. He knelt next to her. His movements were fluid like, slow and very deliberate.

He reached out and took the girl's injured wrist, he brought it to his lips and kissed the bleeding wound gently. The blood flow had slowed, the girl had lost a large amount of blood, she needed immediate medical attention. It was hard, not to bite into her, being this close to that alluring scent, but Desh kept his control. Just barely. The vampire released her wrist and licked her blood from his lips. The taste. It sent a shiver down his spine and for a moment made him feel very warm. It made it even harder to keep control, somehow he managed it.

"You are very delicious, dear heart." His voice was soft, almost a whisper, and he licked his lips again. Desh had no love for humans, a love of their blood perhaps, and this one had extremely delicious blood, but he didn't really care usually if other vampires killed them. Mindless slaughtering of humans. He had gone on a rampage once, doing that, but that had been so very long ago. "I imagine you will die soon, without immediate medical attention." He was standing.

His curiosity satisfied, though it would be a waste to let someone with such delicious blood die. Desh was above helping humans, no matter how alluring and delicious their blood was.

The hairs on the back of her neck reacted to the man's presence long before she was aware that there was any one else in the alley with them. Shock was written all over her face for a brief second before she school her features hand going to the small dagger tucked into her boot. The three larger blades were still out of reach.

Every muscle tensed as he licked Marin's blood from his lips. She was sore and her head was jut starting to focus again so she could in theory take on another fight. It was the power that seemed to ooze from him that stilled her hand. A fact she would mentally beat her self up over later.

" Marin. Get up," Grabbing the girl's arm she stood helping the blond as well. " We'll go get that cleaned and treated." Hazel eyes never left the man standing near them as she angled herself in between Marin and the vampire.

A long shadow shifted closer to the three, not making a move just yet. Another, much more powerful, vampire added to the mixed would make it difficult to assure Marin would come out unharmed. Already she had been bitten because he had been slow in finding her. No she would be safe with Addy for now.

The woman seemed pretty roughed up, and Marin didn't think she was exactly 'okay'. But the hunter didn't respond. She seemed to tense up at something, and in Marin's state, she barely caught on. "What is i-", she started to ask weakly, but then someone had come into view.

A sandy haired man made his way slowly over, and knelt beside them. Marin was trying to focus on them both, but they kept multiplying and shrinking down and repeating the strange dance, and her head was starting to throb a little. Even through that, Marin knew he was a vampire. She still wouldn't know how she'd know things like that so instantaneously.

He took her wrist then and kissed it, shocking her at first. She wasn't thinking clearly enough to have thought he was going to bite her in the first place, but she still hadn't been expecting the kiss either. She only pulled her wrist away when he released it, though it felt heavier than usual.

Then he was speaking words from behind a door. He sounded muffled, but Marin could hear him well enough. She blinked at the vampire and his twin that wouldn't sit still through her next fit of double vision. He couldn't be serious. He couldn't really know that she was in such serious condition, could he? Marin, didn't feel like she was going to die, did she? Is that what dying felt like?

Heavy and light? Dizzy and calm? Far but too close? Warm and cold? No, this couldn't be death. He was wrong. "No," she said softly, closing her eyes so that she wouldn't have to see so many people around her, though there was only the hunter and the vampire. But closing her eyes felt like falling into a dark abyss.

She fought to speak anyway. "I can't, until...," Marin's voice trailed off for a moment before she continued. "I find... where I belong." Her last words were very quiet, she wasn't sure she'd even said them while she was falling into that abyss.

And the pair could have thought she meant anything. Most people traveled through life after all, searching for the place they belonged. Did most vampires do that, too? Marin's mind was somewhere else entirely. She wasn't in the alley anymore, and she wasn't falling into the dark abyss. She was feeling just fine, like normal, back on that couch. She was right back where she'd been when she'd lost consciousness before...

She was still in mid-turn to see who she couldn't seem to remember behind her. She still clutched the rose. But as she turned, the room spun again, and he wasn't there. But, it was so unfair. The dizziness had followed her here, too? "Marin," he spoke in her mind, though the voice she was really hearing was the hunter's. "Get up," he spoke in unison with Adaline.

What? Marin was confused. Just as she looked up to see his face, Adaline pulled her to her feet, waking her again. She clutched to the woman as best she could in her weak state. "I- I'm sorry," she said. "I think I fell asleep. I'm so... tired." Though maybe that's not what had happened. Perhaps she was already on the brink of death. Had she lost too much blood? Had she hit her head when she'd fallen? What would falling asleep from lack of blood during a concussion do to a person?

Marin frowned, slipping back into that sleep state and becoming heavier in Adaline's grasp. "Can I just, lay down for a minute longer, my Lord?" It was clear that Marin was talking to someone else, someone she was seeing in her mind, Lord Nomaru. Though she wouldn't be able to recall the name or face upon waking.

If Rohan was listening though, it'd probably give him a minor heart attack, if vampires had that sort of thing. After all, it would be his head if she died. And, it was incredibly vital that she not remember any of her past until Lord Nomaru returned to give it back to her.

~~~*~~~*~~~
Lord Yosuke Nomaru sat along a lounge couch in a dimly lit room. He was still as stone, holding a rose. "My Lord?" the servant questioned who offered him a tray of tea. She'd been standing there for a few moments too long, and was feeling anxious, the way she usually felt around him.
After some time of sitting still as stone, he turned those red tinted eyes on her fiercely. She jumped and shuddered, dropping her eyes to the floor. "I'm sorry Lord Nomaru," she said in a meek voice. "It's tea time," she explained.
Lord Nomaru rose from the couch, swinging his fist up and knocking the try from the servant's hands violently. The tray and its contents flung across the room, hot tea spilling and glass shattering. He turned his back to her as she coward and shook.
He was angry, and that was clear. He was never someone who got angry, not like this. Though, that was getting harder and harder to say lately. After a few long agonizing moments for the servant, Lord Nomaru turned to face her again.
His expression was as blank as his soft voice. "I am sorry, Umi," he said. "Please excuse me." With that, he left the woman to clean up the mess, not revealing any more emotion in his face, voice or actions. Marin was hurt, and it was his fault. Of course, he'd take that out on someone else. Preferably that Rohan. Hadn't he found her yet?
The scene, the words, they might have tugged at Desh's heartstrings. If he had such things left, and if she wasn't human. Human with odd blood. He pushed those thoughts from his mind and just listened. The hunter was trying her best it seemed to get the girl up and off somewhere. A hospital would be best. Desh didn't say that. He merely watched the girls as the half dead one with delicious blood rambled.
His curiosity was piqued once more as she mentioned some lord. It was clear to him that she had lost so much blood she was delirious. No she certainly was not long for this world at all. "Dear heart, you cannot sleep. If you sleep now, you will never wake." His eyes moved to the hunter. "Do you realize how serious a wound to the veins in the wrist are? If you want her to live, stop dallying around here and get her into the hospital." He licked his lips, it was hard not thinking of how delicious her blood had been or how tempting the scent of it was.
Desh could probably save her, but how would it benefit him? He couldn't use her for a food source, at this point, the way things were moving, it would be best if all humans just vanished. Then there would be no risk of being hunted for drinking one. Besides, with synthetic blood the humans had no more purpose. At least in his eyes. Still, it would be a waste, even if one couldn't drink this human, it would be a waste to lose such a delicious blood source.
"Perhaps I could help, though I see no real reason to." He looked them both over, as if contemplating. Vampire blood had natural regenerating qualities. Perhaps his blood could seal her wound? Desh had never ever tried such a thing before, but it might work. There was a small chance. He was hesitating, but if something wasn't done the girl would die, that delicious thing would no longer exist, and that was truly a tragedy.
"Very well then." He spoke the words as if one of them had said something to convince him to try and help, though he had just merely convinced himself. He stepped closer to them. Reached out and put his hands on the dying girl and pulled her rather effortlessly away from the hunter. "I do not even know if this will work, dear heart." One arm was around her waist, holding her close, his other hand held her hand. Fingers interlocked with the fingers of her hand, and he pulled her wrist up to his lips once more.
He bit the tip of his tongue, hard, causing blood to immediately flow. Then that tongue touched her injured wrist. His eyes fluttered at her taste and closed, his body tensed as he fought the urge to bite her and drain the rest of her life away. Tensely but gently, he licked her wound, lapping up her blood and cleaning the area while applying his own to the wound. He pulled back, eyes opening, barely controlled hunger in them as he watched her wound expectantly.
The siblings reacted as if one. Adaline reaching out with one hand for Marin while the other pulled her dagger out of the sheath in her boot.She knew she couldn't pull the girl away. There was too high a risk that the sudden movement would aggravate her wound. Her whole body was tense ready to strike when she was able to find an opening. Going up against a vampire as old as this alone was never recommended.
She had know this girl was going to be trouble three nights ago but this was...who was this girl.
The shadows fell off of him as Rohan stepped into the dim light of the alley. This he could not let continue. Though it did appear that the draw of Marin's blood worked on all vampires. Long pale fingers ran through the stray strands of dark auburn hair pulling them out from his face.
" I believe that that will be enough." Cutting his eyes towards Marin's face, " I will return her to our master." He felt more then saw little Addy tense and turn towards his voice. He had forgotten that he as there for a moment.
" Rohan..." Her face hardened as she calculated the odds of surviving a fight with the two vampires.Plus she had Marin to worry about.
His words were sounding farther and farther away, but Marin still heard them, and they frightened her. If she fell asleep, she would never wake? She forced lapis lazuli eyes open and clutched onto Adaline tighter, trusting that the woman wouldn't let her fall.
So wrist wounds were bad news. And she'd been the one to offer it, too. That had been very foolish. And now she was going to pay the ultimate price for it? She couldn't. She couldn't die not knowing who she was. What would flash before her eyes?
The vampire had said something else, but Marin's eyelids were heavy and she was too busy fighting sleep to focus on anything else. But then his feet came into view and she looked up as he plucked her away from the woman who had tried to save her. Marin held onto him, too, as best she could, but she felt very weak.
She didn't feel like she was in danger, but for all she knew he was going to drain what blood she had left. But something in her mind vaguely registered, something he'd said before about helping her. But now he didn't even know if it would work. What was it?
Marin was so close to him now, that it was too hard to keep her head up to look at him. She hoped he wouldn't mind, if she rested her head... for just a minute. She laid against him, though it was a bad idea. Immediately her eyes began to close again, but then he was bringing her wrist to his mouth again, fingers entwined in hers.
She felt his tongue on the sensitive, aching and wounded skin, and opened her eyes. He wasn't going to bite her, he wasn't, she didn't believe it. So she remained calm, though it was proving hard, after the experience she'd already had.
After a few long moments, the aching in Marin's wrist began to dull. The holes were closing, and Marin wouldn't lose anymore blood. She would need rest though, and more importantly, to eat something so that her body could make more blood.
Tears stung Marin's eyes. Twice now, two complete strangers had tried to save her. It warmed her heart, and hurt it at the same time. She would be forever in their debt, gladly. She rested her head against him again and accidentally dozed off once more, feeling safer than she probably should in a vampire's arms.
Another voice suddenly registered and pulled Marin from the edges of sleep again, or death, who knew? She lifted a heavy head to see who had spoken. What had he said? Had he said something about their master? Was he talking about her? Did he know her?
Marin immediately strained to see him better. Would she recognize him? While more aware of her surroundings now, she was still incredibly weak and tired, but, this new vampire was giving her great hope. He knew her, didn't he?
In reality, they had never known each other. Rohan was someone Lord Nomaru had turned vampire so that he would have a new and loyal servant. Someone to keep an eye on Marin while he was busy saving killing the world. Rohan would have great power having been turned by one of the most powerful Purebloods, and that's what Lord Nomaru was counting on.
But, if Rohan failed to keep her alive before her returned to take Marin, he would see to it personally that Rohan lived an agonizing existence for the next thousand years.
Desh had ignored the hunter as she moved for weapons. Had she not heard him when he said he could help? Perhaps not, humans had a habit of only hearing what they wanted to hear. His eyes were watching the wound as it closed up, so such a thing did work. Well that bit of curiosity was solved. The girl wouldn't die yet, maybe. She needed to desperately eat something though, to help build up more red blood cells, Desh was watching her almost intently as he licked her lingering flavor from his lips. It was almost, divine.
He moved, readjusting his grip around this girl, so that he could pick her up. That one arm around her waist and his other under her knees. Desh's eyes roamed over the hunter. Did that woman really think she could take him on and survive? Well, he wasn't in the business of killing humans anymore, even if he did want to, relished the feeling of their life force slipping away as he gorged himself on their life blood. Ever since that treaty had been signed, it would just be very problematic for him to kill humans now.
A vampire had stepped from the shadows. Desh wasn't surprised at all, and even if he had been, he would not have shown it. "Indeed, that will be enough." He nodded his head politely to the other vampire, watching him curiously as he spoke. "Pray tell, what are you to this girl, that I should relinquish her so easily into your custody?" His tone was polite, with barely concealed danger oozing just under that politeness.
Hadn't these others realized yet, that if Desh had wanted, he could be far gone with this girl in his arms already? Well it was a thought, but Desh's curiosity had him remaining where he was, with the girl held almost protectively in his arms.
Although old saying 'the more the merrier' was not completely untrue, Eric believed there were times when there were enough people as is. Honestly, looking at the scene, he thought there were too many already. He had missed start of this, since he had 'lost' track of Marin, after the vampire who turned out to be hunter dealt with vampire, while protecting a human and another vampire popped up. It'd been interesting for a bit, but then grown stale and he now regretted he hadn't followed Marin thoroughly. Although technically, he had no responsibility over this white haired human.
It wasn't hard to understand what lay before his eyes, however. A drained girl, fierce woman, remains of a vampire... The two other were unusual addition, however. Two vampires and one of them, ancient and powerful. Not the first time tonight he had felt such power, too. Shiver of anticipation ran down Eric's spine. Two pure bloods in the same small town... It ought to get interesting. Although this blonde one had ruined his fun - he had planned to fling himself down and extending a saving hand to poor human girl. After all, miss fierce huntress couldn't raise a hand against him, one flash of stupid paper and she would have to back off. It didn't matter that he was unofficially freelancer, the official notice remained the same - he was a fellow hunter.
But for now, he had to stay here, crouched on the rooftop and watching. Scent of Marin's blood assaulted his senses, making his mouth water. It had been long, long time since not synthetic wine of life touched his lips and, rather uncharacteristically, dark man felt his most primal urges surface. If his beast-level hadn't known this was pure blood before him, he might have went in to chase him off to drink his own fill. Or at least do what he was doing now. Yes. He would manage to get a hold of himself and help, not destroy this human. Of course. There was only one instinct that Eric would allow himself to follow and that was the survival one. Everything else was done with his consciousness fully holding reins.
He couldn't quite piece together the different motivations of everyone present, but wasn't surprised that they both wanted to lay a claim of sorts on her. It seemed huntress recognized the younger one and was ready to stand and fight for Marin. If he saw that this situation was to about get ugly, he'd get involved. To make sure blonde one didn't run off in the heat with their precious little gem in his arms. Besides, it was general courtesy of the hunters, bla bla bla. But maybe he could take off tension by joining right now? Someone had to mention that the girl didn't belong to anyone without her consent.
(( this is going to be short and Ill come back an edit any mistakes later. Technically still at work.))
Paying no mind to his sister Rohan stared at the blond vampire his face a relaxed mask. Lord Nomaru had been very clear about the terms of Marin's condition and that until she was back with him she should not regain any of her lost memories. Truly he had wanted to meet the young human woman that had caused such care in his other wise obdurate master.
"I was sent by my master to return her to him. It seems she had gotten lost." Raising his arms lightly form their place at his side he faced his palms up. An open sign to relay that he had no hidden intentions.
"Master?" Desh spoke the word with a bit of surprised curiosity. "Is it alright then, for vampires to own blood dolls? Surely that was outlawed when the treaty came into existence. Since it would involve drinking the humans blood, and we are no longer allowed to do such a thing." There was a bit of animosity in his voice. In his opinion, telling a vamprie they couldn't drink a human's blood was like telling a human he couldn't eat steak anymore because it was against the law.
However. It was a possibility that the girl willingly lived with a vampire, but Desh didn't really expect that. It was a possibility but one he was already eager to toss out the window. He jostled the girl in his arms just a bit, to try and get her attention, to keep her awake, then he turned slightly so she could look upon the other vampire. "Sweetling, do you know this man?" There was only the tiniest bit of concern in his voice. If she did know this vampire, Desh would hand her over to him without a fuss. If she did not know this vampire, Desh would be inclined to keep her in his custody a while longer.
Ayumu pulled Ryou along and the pair entered the café. Looking around the young woman grinned. The place was rather nice and the air was filled with the scent of tea, coffee and sweets. She giggled slightly as she hauled her dear friend over to an empty table. “I hope they have oolong tea or white tea. Especially after someone forgot to pack them when we moved.”
Ryou lowered his head slightly to avoid her gaze when she reminded him about forgetting her tea. “I’m sure they will my lady.” He gave her a sheepish grin as he pulled out a chair for her to sit. Once she was seated he took his place in the seat across from her. His eyes scanned the café, noting everyone around them. He couldn’t be off guard now that Ai was with him.
After taking her seat she picked up the menu, skimming over it. She was a little surprised at the variety that the café offered, but pleased as well when she seen the teas she had mentioned among others. “Looks like I will be letting you off the hook this time Ryou.” With a smile she chuckles, her gaze returning to the man sitting across from her. As usual he was being over cautious in her opinion. She had already had her shikigami, Shiro, check into the town before their arrival. The report was rather interesting, but for now there weren’t really any threats.
“Dearest, please pay more attention to me and less to the people around us. You might make some of them nervous. Things are ok for now, the way they are.” Her words were soft, barely above a whisper.
With a sigh the man returned his attention to the woman sitting across from him. She was right as usual. As long as things stayed like they were then everything would be fine and he could relax. “I apologize. It’s just hard to break old habits. Plus as your bo…companion I must keep you safe at all times.” Unable to relax he had returned to speaking formally to her.
It always annoyed Ayumu when he did this. There was no reason for him to speak formal with her unless she ordered it. In this case she hadn’t and it made her feel uneasy. “I understand, but please try to relax a bit. Also don’t be so formal with me. There is no need. I just want us to be able to have some fun for a change.” There was a hint of caring in her voice as she lightly scolded her companion.
