well it obviously originated in the witch hunting days..... it was probably witch-hunters going around to single womens houses, and saying them have to bribe them or they will turn them in to the authorities and they will be killed (one hell of a trick yeah) thats my haloween theory lol

I don't know why, but I always love seeing creative costumes.

For me, Halloween is a celebration of magic and mystery. It is a celebration of the paranormal. But I don't like how many people seem to demote it to being ONLY all about darkness, horror, and gore. That deprives Halloween of its richness.

And for all you people in Australia that keep talking about how you with Halloween was celebrated there - get together and start celebrating it! Organize some Halloween parties for all you Aussies that feel left out. It sounds like enough of you are interested that you could probably get it to catch on! Good luck!

I ignore those people. I have oe as my roomate. I said something about Halloween and he instantly went off about all the bloody movies.

It used to be my absolute favorite day of the year (besides birthday, 'course).

But now it's nothing but empty promises and disappointment because my friends are stupid, ruining plans and leaving me alone with awkward people ]:

Yeah, I try to ignore these people too. I have no interest in movies that are all gore and no plot. I tend to find them boring and distasteful. Seems like it is getting harder and harder to find haunted houses that aren't all gore too :(

To me halloween definately makes me think of getting spooked, but at the same time it makes me think of friends, how we always have a laugh around that time. It also reminds me of autumn (my fave season) and apple bobbing XD

Halloween always makes me happy. It makes me think of dressing up and decorating and running around outside having fun with my friends.

Isn't Halloween a derived event from the old All Hallow's Eve sabbat?

A time that coincides with the Autumn something... Equinox I believe?

Halloween... it makes me think of everything joyful, and everything that scares people. For me, it's something that i'd like to live in. it disguises people who are naturally.... different... in anything they do or use. For others, i know it scares the pants off of them. it's just a strange combo... Halloween makes me think of how some people get addicted to sugar, or how they just live off of scaring others..

it's weird.

Lavina - I agree, it is something that disguises people who are naturally different, and that is definitely one of the things that I love about it. I wish I could live in a world like that - or one that just openly accepted those who are naturally different.

Halloween makes me think of costumes (and the giant box that 40 years worth of family handmade costumes hide in) and candy (and hiding it from my diabetic father)

I usually think of past Halloweens and times I've gotten scared.

Halloween is my favorite time of year so I go all out making planes with friends, going to parties, and even dressing up lolz :):)
