I'd have to disagree. Dressing in all black or even dressing like you're from another time period doesn't make you look smart. In fact, quite the opposite. I think it makes people look rather dumb.

And I wouldn't say an idiot who could short circuit a metal detector would look like he/she has a lot of "dignity" either. x.x

I wish there was an "on/off" button for this thing called real life. Being on hold for 58 minutes to get legal advice that just points you to other phone numbers and addresses is quite tiresome.

Flink- I agree with you about the metal detector bit, as that's just not a good idea. However I'm just fond of the anachronistic. My room is lit by candles, oil lamps, a antique (silver plated but worn) candleabra, and my computer monitors at night. I don't use electric lights. I also read, quite a bit. I love to dabble in the world of Victorian elegance.

I loved my one dorm room in college that was actually one of the original rooms of an 1890 built mansion - the summer home of the DeYoung family who founded the San Francisco Chronicle. It was cool to have a fireplace, a unique three rounded outside windows, a private bathroom... I mapped out things and figured that the third and a half flight that let to two rooms was most likely guest chambers, as it did have a call buzzer of sorts inside. I also made a rubbing of the plaque on the dumbwaiter when a room on the bottommost level was being remodelled, the tracks went up through a kitchen-closet and a closet upstairs as well.

I love dressing up oddly, whether it be gothic/victorian, my matrix styled trenchcoat, silver or white out contact lenses and vampire fangs, cosplay, or even just weird makeup like how I did myself styled after the crow.

I'm eccentric (the nice way to put it). I'm also crazy (the not so nice way to put it). I'm in the process of getting some serious mental help that I need, but the system makes me want to throw my phone and watch it shatter into pieces... for the seventh(?) time.
