Hahaha, Blackadder is amazing. I had a fireworks party at a friends last night. (It's the sixth here) And we're going a couple of towns south to the biggest fireworks party in the province tonight. Win!

You say 'last night' but it's still Friday night really, even though it's gone midnight.

Saturday we're going to pretty big fireworks. One of the best displays in Norfolk I'd warrant, but I don't know if that's saying much. xD
I've wasted a lot of time today and yesterday on my new sims 3 game lol. Because I'm not sad...

Fireworks on saturday, sci-fi festival on sunday (featuring Chris Barrie aka Rimmer), and then on Monday my parents are coming to stay a night. 8D

Nooo.... It's Two PM. I'm at +12 GMT. New Zealand is pretty awesome, and by the sounds of it, so is your weekend.

New Zealand has bonfire night? o_O

Weird.

Heh, speaking of NZ, my iPod shuffle just passed a Flight of the Conchords song.

AH! I've been watching and re watching the Blackadder III episodes I bought on Amazon on Demand (99 cents each, yay.)
Hugh Laurie plays the best thickie around.

Also, Yay, for Chris Barrie! :O

I also watched Blackadder III recently, I have a soft spot for that series, especially the last episode featuring Stephen Fry abusing Hugh Laurie xD

I need to watch Shakespeare in Love... men in tights, mmmm.

I know. Mr. Fry never looked better. Oh, how I wish we could bring back that standard of men's fashion...

I was thinking more along the lines of 16th century fashion than 18th. 18th century men were a bit... wiggy.

Not Whiggy, that's a different thing entirely. ;D

Yes, NZ has Guy Fawkes... We are a colony. XD And we really like explosives. Also as for flight of the concords, they are much win.

Well, moving into the 19th century...
The regency look verging on into the early Victorian... Biggles approves.
Wigs. I can give a miss.

@ carzeebear - yeah, you were a colony... but still, I didn't expect it. They are, though they've kind of worn off on me a little. They're probably better suited to live shows than TV.

@ Bigsy - I love the Jane Austeny dresses. So pretty.

Yes. This here is what i'm talking about, with particular emphasis on the men's fashion: 1795

Edit: That's a rather strange way to parse the link... But it still leads to what I wanted to share.

Oh, why didn't you just say Mr Darcy? xD;

I have the BBC TV adaption on DVD, the one with Colin Firth (and what Helen Fielding had in mind when she wrote Bridget Jones, and why he's in the movie).

Well, Mr Darcy, yes. But as someone who's an amateur costume historian, I wanted to be a less specific xD
But I Also love Victorian fashion, so I had to acknowledge the over lap.

Costume historian? Interesting.

At some point in my life, I want to be an extra in a period drama. LOVE.

Tomorrow I need to desperately buy some needle and thread, I have a new winter coat but the buttons are sewn on badly.
I have to have them secure for tomorrow night so I can stay snug while I watch the fireworks.

Here's a good illustration of early Victorian men's fashion : Fashion History | Men's Clothing 1830s

Oh, worming your way into a period drama! That sounds wonderful!

I don't know how I'd ever do it, but if I could get paid £20, spot a star and wear a pretty dress... man that'd be awesome. 8D

My old baby sitter was an extra in Ten Things I Hate About You.
You just have to be somewhere where they are filming, and answer their call for extras...

I should scout out these locations...

Gok Wan recently did a book signing here, and some camera crew passed us in the street going in that direction. Quite exciting.

I hate it when you need to pee but you're in the middle of something, and then you're like... I need more of a life.

I'm just so excited about my parents coming on monday and tuesday, although I think it's forecast to rain on those exact days and be dry sunday and wednesday xD

I have the whole next week off, it's 'writing week' or 'study week' or 'reading week' depending on which department/lecturer you ask.

I do have some hefty novels to read though. 500 pages, 600 pages, and 700 pages - by Christmas. 8D
For 1/3 of my course.
