Yan, has enjoyed several activities over his short lifetime but he has yet to go to the beach.
This story is about his first visit to the beach and the events that occur during said visit.
Please realize all events were dramatized during the making of this story and these are events that would occur if Dessertdesiert were to get a baby yan.

Friday Night

Yan is a little excited today, because he does not have school today.



Ok well that might not be the whole reason he is excited. Today we are going to the beach. A mother and son bonding trip together.

"Do you have everything you need Yan?"

A big wide grin came over his face and he showed her his suitcase full of toys. She laughed slightly at him and put into the car next to his seat.

"It all seems like we are ready to go." She closed the trunk of the car, made sure that yan was in his seat and got into the car herself and pulled out of the driveway. They were on their way to the shore.

After about an hour her stomach started grumbling and she looked at the time it was 6pm. "Time for dinner." Yan screamed "FOOD!"



Afterwards it was another two hours and they started to see the ocean and got to their beach house.

Yan wakes up excited to enjoy the day. Tearing out of his room he runs downstairs and into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen he spots his mom and tugs on her shirt. "Play, play, play!"

"Not now dear you have to eat your breakfast darling." She puts down a plate infront of him.



Yan looks up and crys slightly. "I have to eat Mickey?"

"No, they are pancakes and they are very yummy, the even have chocolate in them." She pushes them towards him. "Go ahead and eat up."

Once realizing that there was chocolate in them he gobbled them down fast. "Yum! More?" Chocolate was his absolute favorite food.

"Play, Play." Yan said in excitement as he finished up his food.

"Not yet hun. You still need to get dressed." She said pointing to his pajamas. "That is not acceptable to wear to the beach, you will get to hot, and you want to go into the water right?"



Yan nodded excitedly. "Beach! Beach!"

"Let's go upstairs and change then." She put away all the dirty plates in the sink and took Yan's hand as they went up the stairs.

"Now which swimsuit do you want to wear Yan." She unfolded two new swim suits from the bag and held them up for his choosing.

It was a tough choice for yan between his two favorite shows, scooby-doo and his favorite movie Spiderman. But he ran towards the red Spiderman swim trunks and ran and grabbed them.



He was super excited about the swim trunks. "I am going to get changed too, I will come back in 15 minutes to see if you have changed and help you if you have not finished by then."

Yan nodded in excitement of his swimtrunks, but was not really paying attention to what his mom was saying. He just wanted those. He hugged them tightly and tried putting them on over his pajamas. Thinking that he needed to put on more clothing to be dressed he went over to his suitcase and started pulling items out. He found something that was green and looked like a shirt and put it on top of his head. He did not know how to pull it over so left it there knowing his mom would help him.

Yan's mom comes into his room after getting ready for the beach and notices Yan's state of dress. "Yan you're such a big boy trying to get dressed, but first you must take off your clothes before you put other clothes on." She sighed slightly to herself and helped him to get changed into his swimsuit.

"Now we need to put suntan lotion on before we go to the beach so we don't become lobsters."

Yan didn't know what was going on but agreed to everything because he knew he was going to be able to go to the beach before the end of the day.

That was until he realized how cold the suntan lotion was and started running away from his mom. "Noooo" he screamed as she tried to put lotion on him. "If you don't put this on we can't go to the beach and play in the water."

His eyes got big and stopped running around. Water... He wanted to play in the water so he stopped and let his mom put on the cold stuff all over. He even helped to rush the process.

After the torture he had been through he raced to the door and grabbed his favorite toy and raced down the stairs and to the front door of the house.

His mom watched him and picked up the beach bag and followed after him. "You can't run ahead of me when we are outside, otherwise we will come straight home."

Yan not paying attention to her tried to open the door.

She put her hand on the door. "Stay with me."

He understood this order, his mom always said that to him when she wasn't able to keep up and wanted him to slow down. He nodded his head and let go of the door nob.

She grabbed his hand and as they went outside the door and down the hallway to the elevator. As soon as the doors closed behind them Yan let go of his mom's hand.

She gave him one fierce look and he grabbed onto it again as the elevator doors opened again showing the beautiful scenery.

As soon as they got to the beach Yan had that look in his eye at the ocean. His mom told him to wait as she set up blanket and the umbrella.



It was too late. As soon as she had let go of his hand at the beach he was mesmorized by the water and wanted to go in and play and swim around

His mom looks around and sees him heading off to the ocean. She drops the basket that has lunch in it and runs after Yan. "Wait for me!"

He did hear her and kept on going.

She caught up to him and grabbed his shoulder as he started going into the water. "Not without me hun."

Grabbing a hold of his hand they walked backed to the blanket and finish setting up their blanket and then went to the ocean. "Was that so bad?"

Yan shakes his head yes.

They play in the ocean until it is time for lunch then the go back to their blanket with their picnic basket and get their sandwiches out. To Yan's surprise his sandwich is cut into special shapes



He gobbles it down fast and is ready for more fun events. He looks into his mom's beach bag while she is eating and pulls out an plastic something or another and then gives it to his mom.

"Here" swallowing her last bit of her sandwich she takes the deflated volleyball that he gave her and starts blowing it up.

15 minutes later:

A big beach volley ball appears in front of Yan. He is stunned and amused by it. He then takes the ball and starts running of again.

His mom chases after him. "Thats not how you play." She points over to the volleyball court close by. "You pass it back and forth."

He tosses it at her and it hits her in the face.

"Not exactly but close." All while he is giggling manically.

We will try this again.

She tosses him the ball and he catches and starts to run off again.

"Yan" she says with a bit of anger in her voice. He stops in his tracks and looks up at her.

"Toss me the ball." he tosses it to her and she catches



"This is catch." she tosses the ball back to Yan "and if you play nicely we can play all day!"

Yan looses focus and the ball hits him in his head.. He just now notices all the ladies wearing risque bathing suits and starts drooling.

His mom doesn't know what's going on and Yells his name. "Yan! Oh Yan! hunny." she then goes up to him and waves her hand in front of him. He snaps out of it and gives her a sideways glance.

I think this has been too much for you let's go back to our room.

As they start going back to their hotel room yan stops in his tracks and just stares.



He can't help it and goes up to the gentleman and asks "boy or girl?" His mother then comes up behind him embaressed as can be showing bright red.

" I am so sorry that he asked you that, we were just going back to our room. Have a nice day at the beach." She grabs his hand and takes him back to the room quickly.

Once inside the elevator she lets go of Yan and bursts out laughing. She couldn't contain herself anymore and how silly that a guy had done that to himself. Once at their the got into the room and order room service for dinner.

"That was a fun day. Right Yan?" Yan nodded his head happily. "However, now it's time for bed." Yan shook his head no and ran into the living room. His mom who was not amused.

"You have until the count of three to get back in your bedroom young man or you will be in big trouble." She waited for a second for him to respond and then started the countdown.

"One"

......


"Two"

...... Yan peeked around the corner.

"Two and a half"

Yan came into the room and back into his bed.

"Good boy and now go to bed." His mom then walked out of the room and closed the door, very tired she walked into her room and got ready for bed.

What she did not realize that she had left his suitcase with all his toys that he packed in the room. Shortly afterwards he got out of his bed and opened his suitcase and pulled out his toys and started playing.



His mom realized it was too quiet and looked into his room. She picked up the toys, took away the suitcase. "Sleep, now."

The bells in the neighborhood start ring of church services on this bright Sunday morning, the sun is shining, the sky is clear, and Yan is wearing a suit?



Yes, it is Sunday morning and Yan and his mom are at church listening to the service. Yan is fidgeting around in his suit since it is itchy. Then when it is time to pray Yan tries to go under the benches and escape from the service, luckily his mom notices him and grabs his hand. Whispering quietly "It will be over shortly. Please stay still for a little bit longer."

He knew when his mom said please he should listen but he really wanted to go back to the ocean and enjoy the water. Soon they were dismissed from the service, keeping a tight hand hold on him they walked to their hotel room and get into the casual clothes.

"Now what do you want to do today Yan?" Knowing full well that he will most likely say something about going to the beach.

"Beach!" Yan says with great enthusiasm.

"No hunny not again today. I was very tired after the beach yesterday, lets do something that is more fun!" Yan tilts his head to the side in confusion. He honesty did not know anything more fun then being near a whole bunch of water and playing in the sand. "Let's go shopping Yan. I will even let you sit in the stroller all day"



They both got into the car and drove down the shore lines into the nearest shopping district.

Once the got out of the car the first thing Yan noticed was the toy store right infront of the car. His eyes grew wide with excitement.

"Please Mommy" he exclaimed with excitement.

She looked ahead of where she parked and noticed the toy store. We can go in if you promise that you will behave and not get lost. We have alot of things that we need to do today.

Yan nods "ok." Not a moment after she unbuckled his seat belt he bolted from the car into the toy store and ran to the back of the store and found some legos.



Within minutes the model was in pieces on the floor of the store. His mom came in while this was happening and her jaw dropped, she didn't know what to say. She quickly took his hand and the left the store.

In order to avoid the detection of the toy store owner Yan and his mother move straight to the car. To talk about what just happened. "You can't just touch everything when you go into a store. You need to contain yourself and behave Yan. Since you cannot keep your hands to yourself you will have to be in the stroller for the rest of the day.



"Nooo, I won't go!" He exclaimed.

"You didn't obey the rules, this is your punishment, or we could go back to the hotel room and sit on our hands staring at the walls for the rest of the day."

"Nooo, I want to have fun!" he shouted, he eventually realized what his options were "fine".

His mom got out the stroller from the back of the car and motioned for him to get into it.

He slowly got into the stroller and his mom buckled him and they went into the store and apologized for the mess they had made.



The owner accepted the appology and told them in order to make repayment for breaking the model he told them that they were not allowed to come into the store unless they paid him 10 dollars a piece to pay for any damages that might occur. "Starting now, and including any other damage that might occur."

She sighed heavily and then took Yan out of the store. "We can never go here again" and sighed heavily afterwards

"Now onto better and more interesting things!."

Yan cheered with her! "You still have to stay in the stroller"

Yan then pouted.

He was not slightly amused having to be in a stroller, he rather be out and walking around then being pushed.

They started walking down the block and came upon a cute little store in the back. A book store. His mom thought he couldn't make trouble in here so she decided to go in.



"As long as you don't make trouble or a mess for everybody I will let you play in the kids corner of the store."

Yan nodded anxiously wanting to get out of the stroller

His mom lets him out, "You have to stay here."

Yan goes over to a table.

Yan sees an incomplete puzzle on the table and goes over to try and finish it.



Puzzles were not his normal thing to do but if he had to behave might as well do something really boring. Behaving in general in his mind was boring, unless his mom was yelling, that he could not take.

His mom watched as he start putting the picture together so that he did not get into too much trouble.

She then went off and looked for a book that she had been reading previous and came back to watch Yan. He seemed to be content doing the puzzle.

He was content, however he was in deep thought on how to do the puzzle. He wasn't sure and this finding a piece and trying to see if it works was not the easiest method.

His mom then notices that Yan is struggling with the puzzle and decides to help out. She first looks at the box to see the picture and notices that it is suppose to be missing a piece. "That can't be right." she says quietly to herself.



She took Yan into her lap and they sat there working on the puzzle together. They managed to finish it within an hour and they were proud of themselves.

"Want to go out to dinner?" They had been out all day and she thought they could go out and get something special to eat for dinner.

Yan nods. "Ice cream!" His mom laughed "that is for after dinner, Want to get some fish instead?"

Not knowing what exactly it was he agreed to it anyways.

"Since it's our last day here let's go get something nice to eat."



Yan seemed to be excited about getting food since it had been a long day for him and did not have much fun doing the puzzles. The toy shop was super fun though, sadly he will never be able to go into it again.

As they went into the restaurant his mom couldn't help but to ask him what he wanted to eat to make ordering easier for the waiter.

"Or would you rather have some spaghetti?"

Yan shaked his head, he loved pasta

His mom ordered some tilapia. and they had a nice dinner together.

As soon as they got done with dinner they went to the car and drove home. "Do you want to watch a movie when we get home? We could watch SPY kids if you want." She did not hear an answer and usually with Yan that meant that he was getting into trouble, however she looked in her rear-view mirror and saw that he was sleeping.



He looked cute sleeping. It was one of the few moments that his mom could relax during the day of him getting into trouble.

However the peacefulness did not remain, once they got back to their home Yan woke up and sprang back to life. However they had to start packing up their stuff so that they could go back home.

Sunday night all the stuff is being packed up into the car.

"Noooo.." Yan is crying he really doesn't want his stuff to be taken away from him.

"It's alright we aren't leaving until tomorrow morning. I am just doing this so we can get a head start. Remember how much stuff we had to pack before."

Yan remembered



If you behave tomorrow on our way back we can treat ourselves to McDonalds and get Ice cream

Yan definitely remembered Ice cream



Within no time at all the two of them packed their stuff up and got ready for the trip back home.

They spent one last night in their hotel room before they went back to their mundane lives until the next vacation.
