Leaving the nest!





Yan and I live in a humble abode. Both of us have a strong affinity for food, so it only seemed natural that we would live in a house that reflected our interest. This pumpkin home was grown by my own fair hands and turned into a fully heated home, complete with spinny chairs!

Eager to get started on our weekend of fun and gay abandon, we rushed to the pantie mobile, the only car on the planet that's more fun than a Volkswagen Beetle!

After a few hours of chugging along, singing along to dramatic power ballads, we saw a small pub at the edge of the road. Deciding to officially begin our wild possible-anecdotes, we pulled over, indulging in beer soaked nuts and drunken bar banter. It turned out that not only was this a bar of crap proportions, but on the side, the owner turned the stock room into a guest house! As we'd acclimatised to the locals, Yan and I decided to stay.

This would be our headquarters for the weekend!

Saturday 1

We awoke bright and early the next morning. We had the rumblies in our tummy that only hands pancakes would satisfy. With a hop, a skip and a jump, we got into the pantie mobile and headed out on the open road to the nearest IHOP.

I take healthy eating to the extreme, so on top of Yan's buttery syrupy pancakes I made him add some fruit, blueberries. If it were up to him, he'd just eat any old rubbish, and as a parent it's my job to get him to do otherwise.

After a filling breakfast, we paid the bill and skedaddled out, ready for some more fun and excitement on the weekend of a life time.

Saturday 2

As we drove along, Yan noticed a small building tucked in at the roadside. Curious, we decided to pull up and see what was what.

It turned out to be a pottery place, ran by a cheery man/pig hybrid named Percy!

Well, Yan was about as excited as a meerkat in a ball pit, so we decided to stick around and play around with the pottery wheel. However, we were both complete novices, so we had to get Percy to show us the ropes.

We happily whiled away a couple of hours. I made an olive dish and Yan made a bowl that was the perfect size for his head, so if he ever needed a haircut, he could get the perfect one!

Saturday 3

I'd heard about a fun house that was near by. I'd clipped a coupon for free entry from the newspaper, and I promised Yan that we could go, so that was the next stop on our journey.

It was fantastic! The crazy mirrors that made me look skinny, the moving floors so I didn't have to walk, the punch bags for Yan to burn some energy... The list is endless!

The whole building was rather surreal, which made us feel like we were in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. It was mainly the short people, bright colours and changing sized rooms that made us feel this way. In fact, Yan was rather sad that there was no-one offering him everlasting gobstoppers.
