Hey! This is basically a thread I am starting to post some of my short stories and poetry for you to read and review. I am in no way a good writer, so if you read it and don't like it, tell me and move on. Just give the title of the story and your thoughts. Thanks and Enjoy! ;)

The Stolen

She kept running. There was no way she was going to let this being rip her sister away from her.
She reached an enormous field. Her 3 year old sister, still asleep, was pressed against her chest. Not knowing who, what, or where she was running from, she dashed across the clearing. As she reached the center, ever thing got quieter, and quieter, until she could not even hear her heart pounding in her chest. She glanced back, and at that moment, she tripped over a root. As she flipped through the air, her scream was lost. She landed on her back, and her sister awoke and smiled down at her.
She started to cry, for she knew there was no escape.
All she could do was hold her sister tight
And wait.
It did not take long.
She could feel it approaching.
It enveloped her, pushing her and her sister away from each other
She started to scream, but nothing came out.
She felt as if she was moving in slow motion.
She kicked and yelled and bit and shrieked.
Noting worked.
It was everything and nothing; she could never beat it.
With her last bit of strength, she lean forward and kissed her sister
And then she fell backwards to the ground
and watched as her sister vanished into the midnight air.

She was alone.

Hey, I wrote this one in the car, so my typing wasn't the best. Try to ignore typos that I didn't catch. Here it is-->

I Will be Around

I slowly rolled out of bed and glanced at the clock. Jeez. It was already four in the afternoon. How the heck did I sleep that long? I stumbled through my room and into the bathroom I shared with my sister. That’s weird… none of her stuff is on the counter. She must have cleaned. Fine by me, more room for me to clutter up with makeup and every other bathroom item. As I brushed my teeth, I realized the house was exceptionally quiet. I bet the family had gone shopping or something. As I put my hair up, I noticed my leg was a little sore. I looked down to see a small pinprick that looked like I had been given a shot. Weird. Must be some sort of waking dream. I tried to shake it off as I walked out of the bathroom and into the hallway. I got to the stairs and walked down, but closed my eyes since the light from the window was so bright. Once it seemed like I could take it, I slowly opened my eyes, but to an empty room with beige walls, just like how it was before we moved in. At that point I realized something was terribly wrong. I turned and dashed into the kitchen. The walls weren’t green any more, but back to beige. The toaster, the table, the chairs, everything; it was all gone. I started screaming for my family. “Abigail! Mom! Dad!” I was frantic. I ran into every room. Each one except mine looked like no one had ever lived in it. I ran out into the backyard, but only to find that the rabbit, the grill, even the entire pool was gone. Vanished. This isn’t possible. I slapped myself. “Wake up!” I screamed. I ran out to the neighborhood. My neighbors were out washing their car. Everything was normal. It was only me. Had I gone crazy? No. That’s not possible. I walked up to Mr. Norman.
“Do you know my parents?”
“Of course! Lloyd and Kim Gray. You guys have been our neighbors for over a year.”
“That’s what thought. Will you come with me?”
“Sure”
I lead him to the garage and opened it. Nothing was in there except my bike and used car. There should have been shelves and shelves of paint and power tools and lumber, plus my mom’s and dad’s car. Mr. Norman looked slightly confused. Once I lead him into the house, his jaw dropped. I recounted the story for him, just to make sure I wasn’t crazy. He saw it too. I left and told me he would call the police to see if we could work this out. At that point he left, and then, I was alone. The house seemed huge without anything or anyone in it. I so badly wanted to cry, but a sort of dreamlike state had come over me. I just sat there and went over in my head what all had happened. Last night, I had gone to sleep after going to weekly Wednesday night concert down at the park with my sister. We had come back in, taken a shower, eaten a snack, and gone to bed. I was snapped out of thinking by the sound of bells. Why were the church bells ringing on a Thursday? I ran upstairs and checked the date on my phone. Oh no. This changes things. I have been asleep since Wednesday, and now it is five ‘o’clock on Sunday. I sat back, stunned. Something about knowing I had been asleep that long instilled fear in me, and threw my mind into overdrive. I ran through all of my memories, trying to think of one that would be a reasonable explanation. Then it dawned on me. My dad’s job. He works in the government, with files that concern the country’s safety. He once joked that he had a security clearance that could make up disappear and no one would ever know. At the time, I thought it was funny, but what if he wasn’t joking? I heard the police pull into the driveway. They came in with Mr. Norman, asked for my ID and a recount of the story. Once it checked out with all of the records, they gave me the verdict. “We are closing this house as crime scene. Because of your age, you cannot live alone, but under the circumstances, if you can find a suitable adult to take care of you, you do not have to go with child services.” I solemnly nodded. “Okay boys, lets search this house, top to bottom, tonight. I want reports, stat. Start with the bedroom that still has furniture. I want it done within the hour so this young lady can pack. Let’s go!” I followed them upstairs to watch the search. They were so forceful, yet gentle at the same time. If anything, they seemed more stunned than I was. I showed some pictures to them of what the house looked like before, well, now. One of the younger cops offered to sit with me down stairs. I took him up on it. Seeing all of them here scared me. The captain came down and told me that nothing was out of place or odd, except they found a needle in my trashcan. They suspected that it was the drug that kept me asleep for all those hours, but they were sending it to the lab, just to be sure. He then was rushed off to look at some readings of the scan of the house. As it got later and later, cops slowly started leaving. “Hey.” The captain came back to stand with me. “I just wanted to tell you what all has happened. For your safety you can pack tonight, but you need to find a place to live tomorrow. This place will be a closed crime scene for a couple weeks, but then you will probably be able to come back and visit.” I looked down, holding back tears. He gave me a hug. “Don’t worry kid. We’ll find your family.” I slowly walked upstairs, but didn’t make it to the top before I broke down into shaking sobs. I don’t know how I am going to make it.

lolz. i wrote this a few years ago. it had a great idea, but no follow through on my part or good writing on my part. here ya go

The 15th Day

For legal reasons,
Names have been changed, faces re-arranged
Her life was like any other.
She had good days
She had bad
She had friends.
She had enemies.
She laughed.
She cried.
Her family was small, but kind.
Her friends stood by her side.
She was in eighth grade.
And to tell this story
We’re going to need to go back
3 weeks before the 15th day

Please, please, please!
What, what, what? Jamie’s mom replied.
Can I pleasssse go to the Jingle Bell Ball? Please mom, it will be so safe!!! All my friends will be there and there will be chaperones and school will provide a bus and….
Slow down Jamie! You’re talking at million miles a minute! But, by the sounds of it, you can go.
Oh, thank you mom! Thank you thinks you thank you!
I dashed upstairs to call my best friend, Michelle.
“I can go!!!” we both screamed.
“Ok, who else is going?”
“Lets seeeee…. So far us 2, Allie, Bella, Debbie and Kathy.” She replied.
“What about guy-wise?:
“Hmmmm….. the twins (Tanner and Bill), Blake, Jarred, Walter and Cade.”
“Awesome! So Jarred is coming?”
“Yes, your boyfriend is coming. Hahaha”
“He’s not my boyfriend! We’re just friends.”
“Hmmm…. Ya right. Well, any way, you better talk to your “just friend” and tell him you’re coming.”
“Ok, ha-ha, I’ll see you 2morrow.”
I quickly opened my phone to already find a txt from him
U comin 2 the jjb?
I smiled to myself and quickly replied
Ya ttly =)
Awesome!
We went bak and forth for hours, just like we did every nite
My last txt that nite was
Oh dang, its already 1 …. I better get to sleep
I looked bak at my fone to see his last txt
Ok, I’ll c u 2morrow in math ;)
He always made me so happy

*yaaaawn*
Gosh
6 in the morning is way too early to have to get up for school
At least it was a Friday
Then I would have the weekend
Then 3 days at school
And then the jingle bell ball that Wednesday nite
And then we were off till January 3rd
Yay
If I can just make it through the battle field of 8th grade for 4 more days, I’m home free
*bbbzzzzzzz*
Theres my fone
Ah
Imagine that
It’s from Jarred
Jamie! goodmorning!
I smiled again
I finally hopped outta bed and into my fave pair of jeans.
I skittered down the stairs with all my junk for school and grabbed a granola bar on the way out the door.
The ride to school was uneventful, as usual, except for the occasional crazed-late for work-coffee buzz drivers.
My mom pulled into carpool and I hopped out of the car, slammed the door shut, and dashed upstairs just before first bell.
I slid into my assigned seat in math, right in front of Jarred, and right next to… Katharine
Ick
She’s a perfectionist
And I mean perfectionist
It’s kinda sad though… her only family was her mother, and she got institutionalized
And ever since, Katharine wanted a perfect life
Perfect grades
Perfect boyfriend
Perfect family
Perfect looks
Perfect personality
She had good life until her mom went insane
Not perfect, but good
And when her mom went bonkers, she went bonkers too.
But, when I’m not in a caring mood, she just gets on my nerves.
And today, I wasn’t in a caring mood
“Hey Katharine, could you move your binder, your taking up the entire table”
I scooted her binder ever so slightly, and she rounded on me
“JAMIE! I had it just perfect! And u ruined it” she screeched in her high pitched sickly sugary sweet voice
I shot an exasperated look back at Jarred
He snickered
Then, since he was laughing, I started laughing
And apparently, Katharine didn’t like that one bit
Jamie y do u always have to be happier than me!!!!!!! WHY WHY WHY!!!! Y can’t I be that happy?!?!
She broke down into tears
Mr. G escorted her to Mrs. Hadley’s office
“Kids, study hall till I get back”
So, I immanently turned around to Jarred
We both started laughing even harder.

Ahhhh… the weekend
It passed uneventfully; me and Michelle went to get dresses
Monday… Tuesday…. Wednesday
They all passed uneventfully
Except for Katharine’s breakdowns
They became more and more frequent
But I was so excited for the Jingle Bell Ball, I didn’t care.

AHHH!!!!! IT’S THE JINGLE BELL BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and Michelle rushed down stairs after last bell
We both hopped into my car, laden with makeup bags and dresses
I waved to Jarred on the way out
“C u later!”
Once home me and Michelle raced upstairs to start the “beatification process”
We were so happy
Once finally dressed and ready for the red carpet, we loaded back into my mom’s car.
She dropped us off at school where we were loading the buses.
“I’ll pick up you two tonight back here!”
“Ok mom! I love you!”
We ran to the busses and hopped on.
The entire bus seemed to shimmer with all the glitter on the dresses.
Me and Michelle sat across from Jarred and Blake
I noticed Michelle smiled shyly back at Blake when he waved at her
Flirting, fun, dancing, midnight
This nite is going to be awesome.

We got outta the bus downtown
I ran out in front of everyone and spun around in the cold air
Jarred laughed and ran to catch up with me
We started whispering about how Blake and Michelle were totally flirting on the bus
Did I mention this nite was going to be awesome?
We got inside and dropped my purse off with coat check
We walked into the immense ball room
I mean, it was huge
Let the dancing begin
It started off fast and rocking
And then it slowed down as the adults showed up
Me and Jarred sat around seeing which kids ended up paring up for snowball.
“Let’s see… awww look at Michelle and Blake!” I cooed
Jarred laughed at my girlieness, so I threw a weak punch at his arm.
Then we spied Allie pouring punch over Cade’s head.
“Ohhh… man, I bet Cade deserved that.” Jarred said
Walter came over and joined us as we made fun of old people couples.
“Ewwww… look at her arm flab!”
We all burst out laughing
Walter went over to talk to Tanner and Bill
Then the DJ came on over the speakers
“Ladiiiiiies and getttlemeeennn, it’s that time of night again! Its FINAL DANCE!”
Me and Jarred sat there watching the others dance
I felt him move slightly closer to me
I moved a little closer too
It felt nice
Just sitting there with him
Right there next to me
We listed and watched as the clock struck midnight
I saw everybody on the dance floor lean in for the midnight kiss
I leaned my head on Jarred’s shoulder
I smiled

We walked out of the ball room and picked up my purse on the way back to the bus.
I noticed my phone had a voicemail, but I decided to check it later
We all climbed on to the bus, full of excitement. I slid into a window seat next to Jarred, across from Michelle and Blake.
“So I guess this means you two are going out, doesn’t it?” I asked Michelle
Blake and Michelle smiled at each other and started laughing.
I few minutes down the road, I remembered I had a voice mail
I pulled out my phone and dialed my mailbox
I put the phone up to my ear, and at that moment, everything seemed to stand still
Every one dancing on the bus seemed to just freeze
It seemed as if the music was paused.
I dropped the phone
I ran the message through my head again
The midnight bells were chiming in the background of the message.
*Your grandmother is dead. You have 15 days*
Jarred turned around and read the horror on my face
He snatched the phone of the ground and listened to the message
He turned to me and said
It’s just a prank call Jamie
It’s all right
But he didn’t even seem so sure himself.
