Survivalism 101

Quote:
On a chilly fall afternoon in mid-September, everyone was returning home from work, which led to a horrific traffic jam. And during said jam, a wounded man came staggering down the street; blood dripping from his mouth, clothes torn, his flesh bare. Yet, no one got out of their car to help him.

That is, until the injured man stumbled, and lost his balance. Within mere seconds, he was on the pavement, his body twitching wildly.

This display startled several drivers into action. They all rushed to his side, their hands going everywhere as they tried to assess his wounds. Suddenly, without any warning, the man lunged forward, teeth barred, hunger flashing in his dead-eyes.

In a split second, he had tackled a young driver, and pinned them to the ground. Desperate to satisfy his hunger for flesh, he sunk his decaying teeth into the boy’s shoulder, eliciting a loud sob-like howl.

Shocked, and disgusted, the other drivers began to beat and pull at the ‘psycho’, who was busy ripping his victim’s throat out.

.. And before they knew it, everything went wrong

In the midst of the Outbreak, several survivors find themselves holed up in an abandoned shop together, and with no food or water, they soon realize that they are clean out of options.

So, drawing straws the survivors chose which ones of them would be unlucky enough to go out and scavenge for food.

This is where your survivor comes in. They had the misfortune of choosing the shortest straw, so they found themselves getting geared up to face the terrors outside. But, unbeknownst to them, they’re not alone.

---

Rules:

-No God-Modding (all god modders will be thrown out. ;))

-Romance, while enjoyed and accepted, should be kept PG13.

-Don't kill any someone else’s characters, unless you got the ‘O.K’ with their creator.

-Try not to ignore anyone. (That prompts them to leave, and it’s extremely rude.)

-No one liners. Remember, if you don’t have anything good to say, use descriptions.

- I'm sort of picky about Spelling and Grammar, but I’m not extremely picky about how you write. Just no Text Speak, no 1337, and no First-Person.

-write in 3rd person (If I didn’t cover that in the line above.)

-Try not to leave someone out. (But, then again.. Since, this IS a Zombie RP, leaving them behind is still an option.)

-Last, but not least, HAVE FUN!

----

Did you suffer through the rules, and intro? Well, good. Because now it’s time for characters, and junk! *Claps hands*

Group One.

SPOILERX

It was September 21st, which marked day seven for the survivors; who had currently been holding up in an abandoned convenience store. And while at first, the idea of being locked-up in a Crispies sounded good; because it had what they needed to survive, food, water, and a place away from the living dead.

The idea quickly turned sour after day five. Because, on that day they had ran out of the supplies needed. And with the thought of starving to death looming over their heads, the group of worn-out civilians began to grow less, and less sane.

At some point in the night, everyone was at eachothers throat. Some were threatening to open the door, which meant letting in all those 'zombies', who waited eagerly outside. They were moaning loudly, and rapping sharply at the door; a constant reminder of their presence.

Others opted for more logical ideas, like leaving the safehouse altogether.. It's not like they were going to get rescued sitting around in a place like this. But, they didn't take into account that they had some injured survivors on board. So, that idea was shot down, too.

Eventually, as the night turned into day, the survivors all agreed on one thing, the couldn't make a move until they had what they needed. So, naturally they decided on sending their healthiest out to collect supplies. But, since no one in their right mind would willingly go, they had to draw straws.

One by one, everyone lined up and pulled straw after straw from a flithy tin can. Everyone who obtained a straw shorter than an half-inch had to leave out first thing in the morning to collect food, water, and medicine. While everyone who had drew one longer than that, had to stay behind to care for the wounded. That way, no one was free to laze about.

Group Two.

SPOILERX

Not even five days into the "lockdown" of Gentry's Saloon (the gentlemen's club), talks among the male survivors have become more heated, and it hasn't helped that Autumn has decided to take charge after the lost of a huge number of survivors during that first food hunt; which resulted in the loss of over half the group, due to the old leader demanding everyone to do for themselves.

Arguments flare up, as the men outnumber those who side with how Autumn plans to run the shelter, and before the end of the seventh day, those who thought the plan to send only a few of the ablest out into the danger area for food was the key to surviving are banished.

Starting post, feel free to post after me. Anyway, I'm a group one poster, and for any furture posters in my group, please use the Bold Palatino Linotype.

--

Amongst the survivors who had to leave, was a girl name Kellie Braden; a frail, spidery looking girl, who was dressed in a blood-stained black hoodie, a pair of tattered jeans, and an uncomfortable pair of flip-flops that she had stolen off of a ravaged body.

She was absolutely frightened about the possibilty of leaving their 'safe-zone'. But, at the same time, she knew it was better than sitting around, waiting on help.

Either way, she sat anxiously in the corner, desperately anticipating the sunrise. "Come on, this has got to be the longest night ever.." Hugging her arms around herself, Kellie couldn't help but feel digusted, she was covered head-to-foot in blood, dried gasoline, and other unruly fluids.

Almost gagging on the idea of going days without a bath, Kellie let her eyes survey the surroundings she had come to know. She was in a small break room, which housed a broken living chair, an overturned metal desk that was pushed hastily against the door.

Squinting in the scant light of the room, she tossed a glance to her right. Two people had taken purchase of the area beside her, they were cuddled up, and they were male, and female. Their names were Marshal Stone, and Sarah Lakeman, and they had apparently been a couple; as they haven't once seperated.

Leaning back against the wall, Kellie closed her eyes, begging for the sandman to claim her.. If only for a few minutes.

I'm a group two poster. Also, like how Group One will use one set font, I'd like for all Group Two posters to use Garamond font. If this is fine with Apricot and everyone, of course.

Autumn just knew from the moment she opened her mouth, and uttered the words that ‘the old geezer was too senile to even know his head from his ass, let alone know what was the best way to keep as many survivors alive, as possible’, that she would have some enemies. But, she did not expect them to literally kick her (and those who tried to stand up to them) out of the tightly secured building. To think that she was nice enough to allow that geezer, and his drinking buddies, into the gentlemen's club. And now, there they were, acting as if they owned the joint.

"Well, serves my ass right, for being nice enough to let them into the club." Autumn remarked with a grunt, looking back at the few people in her party. She did feel bad that they had to be banished as well, and it irked her that they were a liability to her.

The blazing sun was beating down, as they scrambled from abandoned house, to abandoned house. The youngest person, a boy who looked about seven, tripped over what once was a person's arm. The churning sound of vomit and bile escaped his lips. Not wasting a moment, she snatched him up and sprinted a good kilometer. Her attempt to stop the projectile from being released from his mouth was unsuccessful but it managed to splatter on the ground.

"Hey, everyone.. In here!" Autumn commanded, letting the boy down. "We haven't got much daylight left.” Looking around, the redhead surveyed the area. “And this place might be the safest we can find for the night."

A few minutes were about right, as only moments later, Kellie felt her eyes fluttering open, and her body being violently jerked from side to side. “Uh.. W-what’s going on?” She slurred, swatting the shaky hands away from her forearms.

“Come on, we have to go.” Sarah whispered hurriedly, her hands retreating to her hair, as she began to tie it back into a sloppy bun. “Marshal thought it’d be safer to just leave, now.”

Blinking away the remaining sleep in her eyes, Kellie felt as if this was some sort of prank.. But, then again, who would joke at a time like this? “What are you talking about?” She began to shrink back into the cold wall behind her. “We’re supposed to leave in the morning.. You know, with everyone else.” Her words fell out awkward, and fearful.

“Yeah, well.” Sarah froze, making sure that no one could hear her. “Before we got here, our friend told us that they knew someplace safe...” Smiling brightly with her dingy teeth, she continued to speak “So, we had decided that we were going to go, and find it.”

“Well, if you can get up there, without making too much noise-” Kellie smiled halfheartedly, her gaze traveling to the narrow window that rested 7’ft above the ground. “I wish you two the best of luck.”

Sighing in defeat, the once pretty blonde got to her feet. “Fine, you stay here and rot like everyone else.” Throwing on final glance at the quivering girl on the floor, Sarah started towards the window. “See you in the next life...” Once she had reached her destination, the blonde, and her boyfriend, began their attempt to escape.

But, of course, not all attempts turned out for the best.

The window creaked loudly, which not only woke up the Survivors, but it also alerted the zombies that were covering both exits.

Within minutes, screams erupted from Sarah, as she was being snatched violently out of the window by one of the hungry beasts. And try as they might, there was nothing they could do, what with the woman being suspended in mid-air, and all.

And soon enough, Sarah was out the window, and howling loudly into the night.

“What… Just happened?” One of the survivors panted, as they backed away from the newly opened escape-route. Everyone else was thinking the same thing, at the exact same time, as they exchanged worried glances.

“S-Sarah..?” Marshal half-sobbed, his face buried into his hands. “H- How… They weren’t supposed to be out there.” The images of the zombies playing tug-a-war with her body, were now flashing through his head. “Oh, dear god! What have I done?!” He all but shouted.

“Hey, Mars. Calm down.” A survivor, who identified themselves as Paul, said. His hand darted out, as he began to pat Marshal on the shoulder. “There was nothing we could do. And like you said. They weren’t supposed to be out there..”

“She wasn’t supposed to die!” He cried, slamming his fists into the floor. “It wasn’t s-“ Marshal was quickly interrupted by an abrupt slap to the face.

“Look what you and that girl did! Now they know that were still in here!” An irate female shouted. She was seconds away from attacking him again, and if it weren’t for the people holding her back, she probably would’ve tried to strangle him. “We should send him out there, too… Let him join his ‘girlfriend’”

“T-That’s crazy!” Kellie shouted, her arms enclosing around the woman’s midriff. “Sending him out there will only make them rowdier!” Wrenching her eyes closed, she tried to push all negative thoughts from her mind. “And that would make it harder for us to leave in the morning..”

Tempers began to flare, as everyone began to argue among themselves, once more. All of them far too busy to notice that Marshal had retrieved a discarded hockey stick off the floor. It was only when the blunt object collided with the flimsy glass, did everyone realize the situation at hand.

Marshal was trying to get them killed!

Lethal walked down a path that once was in a beautiful town filled with nice people he hated. Now, it was all burned and dead. People lay dead and those were alive died after a few seconds. He spit on the floor making sure it didn't touch a body and looked around as he stopped walking. "What to do now..." he said and took out a cigarette and began to light and smoke it. He stood there for a while before he continued to walk. Lethal looked at all the dead people on the floor and he carefully tried not to step on them as he walked. He had no weapon with him right now which made walking around more dangerous, but he didn't give a crap right now. He was currently thinking what to do and nothing came to mind except to follow the current path he was taking. Everything around him looked like something out of a horror movie, the sky looked grey and gloomy. The whole place looked pretty gloomy and deserted....and boring.

"Its been days since I found food. And since she came back.", her eyes filled up with tears while her stomach grumbled. Its dark in the room and it stinks. I smeel unwashed, I am hungry, Zombies outside the door and Im scared. I cant wait any longer. She wont come back.Mimmy slowly stood up and harked at the noises outside. No groaning and moaning from Zombies. No shuffling from feets.
Only the beating from her heart. Its not too dark outside, I could probably go.She carefully stepped forward and opened the door. Lurking though the gap of the door, nothing seemed to happen. No danger in sight. Lets go!
Taking a deep breath, she walked outside and closed the door. I just need to be quiet.
Mimmy stood there a few second before runnig over to the little snak shop.

The sound of glass shattering made the very blood in Kellie's veins run cold. "Wh- Why'd you do that Marshal!?" She shrieked, dashing towards the man. Though, she never made it, as in seconds the whole group was on him. Fist, swears and legs, being thrown in equal measure."St-Stop! Everyone stop!" She tried in vain to rescue him, but she was neither strong, or in possession of any weapons, so there was nothing much she could do.

And for the second time that evening, she had to watch as a fellow survivor was killed brutally, and without mercy. "No.." She sobbed, sinking to her knees. "Is this wh-what we've become!?" Clenching her eyes shut, Kellie began to violently shake. "We're no better t-than those m-monsters!"

Suddenly, the pained screams of Marshal stopped, and all eyes were on Kellie."We're monsters? Huh? Is that what you think?" The same woman from before said, her eyes blown wide with uncensored shock. "Well, maybe we're just doing whats nessessary to survive!" Shouting, the woman threw herself at Kellie, hands outstretched, and ready to kill.

Shrieking, Kellie darted away like a frightened gizelle. "G-Get away f-from me!" She sobbed, practically choking on the fear surging throughout her body. "You're no better than them-" Tripping over a empty can, she found herself in a defensive position on the floor. "-if you kill me, too!" Holding her arms out infront, she prayed silently for her life.

"That's enough!" Shouted Paul, who had stepped inbetween both of the women. "We've got a broken window, two people dead, and we're still no closer to getting any supplies.." Glancing around, he noticed everyone shrinking back into their original spots. "I think we should leave, now."

Even though no spoke, everyone agreed.

Since there was nothing in the room, other than people and make-shift weapons, no one cared to stay, they ultimately dedided to leave from the front door, as it was obvious that the window was a deathtrap; the sounds of zombie moans could be heard from the other side of it.

Taking purchase around the door, everyone prepared to swing and fight their way out. "Ready?" Asked a survivor, whose sweaty hand was shaking violently against the handle. "On three.." They started. "One.." Everyone got into position. "Two.." They readied their weapons. "Three!" He snatched the door open, jabbing his bat out in the process.

.. There was silence, absolute silence.. No sounds of bat making contact with limps.. Nothing.

"There's.. N-Nothing out there?" Kellie stuttered, but not out of fear, more so because of her natural speech impediment. Peering out of the doorway cautiously, she saw no one. "W-Well, that's a r-relief." Letting out a breath she didn't even know she was holding, she quietly exited the breakroom.

Everyone else follow suit, though.. Some were less than quiet about it. A handful of people began to cheer, and celebrate. Some even went so far as to scream. "WOO! Yeah, to hell with all those brain-eating motherf-"

"S-shut up!" Kellie hissed, holding her weapon (A rusted crowbar) to her chest. "Th-they'll hear us.." Looking around, she had hoped she was wrong. But, of course, not a moment too soon, they were greeted by the sound of shuffling feet. "Oh.. N-no.." She gaped in horror.

(amazing writing)

Catching breath she looked around but nothing has moved yet. She tried the door but it was locked. "Dammit... seemes that I have to break something to come in. one problem. the zombies would here that and come in." She looked though the window and almost moaned- Candys, Food, Drink... all kind of things. "I have to get there."
Her whole body trembling, she picked up a stone and smashed the window.Immediately an echo of moaning
approached. She jumped quickly and pulled herself up, climbing though the window.
INside the shop she rushed to a shelf and pushed it over to the broken window. The moaning already reached the place and got louder. "God that was close" She sighed and sat down.

The night in the building was nerve-racking for Autumn. Twice, she had to physically stand between two of the older girls in the group who fought over the pathetic amount of edible scraps in the kitchen. Autumn offered her share in hopes of them shutting up. But they refused and a fight broke out the second time.

"I hate you!" The smaller blond girl spat out at the brunette one. "Ever since we were stuck in that damn place, all you've done was steal from me. First Joshua, now my food!" As she spoke, the girl lunged forward and if it wasn't for Autumn's quick movement, the brunette would have been laid out on the floor.

"Enough." Autumn spoke as civilly and level as possible. The threat outside couldn't be too far from them but, aside from a few stragglers banging on the glass windows and door, there wasn't much activity. "We do not need you two making enough noise to alert them that dinner's in the kitchen waiting for them." Both girls glanced around and muttered something that the redhead could only make out as "whatever."

Before she could open her mouth again, the deafening sound of glass shattering in the living room caused the three to jump. Motioning for the girls to hide in the small laundry room, Autumn grabbed a sharp knife and crept slowly towards the living room. A bloodcurdling scream was followed by the sound of flesh ripping. Her mind froze as she remembered that the young boy had fallen asleep on the plush white couch. Well, it's not going to be white now, Autumn thought grimly to herself. Behind her, the sound of the back door unlocking brought her back to the crisis at hand.

Whirling around, Autumn motioned for them to lock it back. But the panic stricken girls were already halfway out of the building. Letting out a soft groan, she followed them out of the house. Autumn wasn't happy about leaving the boy to be their distraction but she wanted to live. And she knew her odds against whatever was munching away on his limp body were very slim.

"We need to find another house. And quickly." She ordered the girls. Nodding they made their way as quickly and silently as possible to the shed in the back yard. Luckily, the rusty lock had been broken off in an earlier attempt by a looter and they were able to slip inside it unnoticed.

All the survivors were jolted from their fear filled daze, as they heard the sound of glass breaking in the main area of the store. "Wh-what was that!?" Kellie trembled, eyes glancing around frantically. "I th-thought zombies didn't b-break glass.." When she didn't recieve an answer, she threw a worried glance at Paul. "R-right?"

"Right." Paul reassured, patting her on the shoulder."So, it must be another one of us." Squinting his blue eyes, he attempted to look down the dimly lit corridor. "Maybe they're alone, and in need of some assistance."

"Yeah, well.. They're on their own!" Someone said, clacking their weapon against the floor. "We've got enough people, already."

"B-But, what if they have f-food?" Kellie's grip tightened on the crowbar almost painfully. "W-we left t-the main area un-untouched.." Her voice seemed to echo throughout the hall. And no one dared to speak, as they would be acknowledging the fact that she was right.

Rolling his eyes, Paul let out a loud, defeated sigh. "Look, if y'all are to scared to look.. Kellie and I will." Looking over to said female, he had a hopeful look on his face. "Right, Kellie?"

"R-right.. We'll go l-look.." While she tried to sound confident, her body language, and terrified expression told them otherwise. Almost as if she noticed, Kellie straightened up her posture, and continued to speak. "I-If you're t-too afraid.." She cleared her throat, willing any bit of confidance to shine through her words. "W-we'll, go.." Waving them off with her free hand, she said. "J-just h-head back i-inside."

There was more silence, and then suddenly.. Everyone, but Kellie and Paul, disappeared into the safe room once more.

"Well.. We're on our own, too." Paul smirked, looking back at Kellie with a amused twinkle in his eyes. "Ladies first.." He gestured towards the corridor to their right. Both because that's where they had heard the sound, and because the other side was the source of undead moaning.

"B-but.." Not having much to say, Kellie gave up, and began to quietly shuffle down the hall. "T-this place g-gives me the cr-eeps.." She was shivering now, from a mixture of absolute terror, and from the fact that it was below 70 degrees in the area. "P-Paul.." She started once more, her voice cracking slightly.

"Um.. Yup?" He said, not paying too much attention to her. "I'm kinda focused on keeping us alive." As he said that, he decided to dart out ahead of her.

Becca sat in her house, staring at the door. It had been too quiet for too long. The zombies were getting smarter, learning where her traps were, learning how to get around them. She hadn't been hunting in days and her food source was running low. 'Daddy, what do I do?' Becca looked up at the framed picture of her dad just above the fireplace.

Getting up to look in the cabinents, Becca realized she was completly out of food. . . 'Damn. I've got to go out and get more. But it'll have to wait till morning.' Becca's dog, Bruno, nudged at her.
"I know sweetie," She kneeled down, softly petting her on the nose, "But we're out of food. You've gotta wait till morning."

Mimmy crawled careully back to the window and lurked outside.
The shuffling and moaning of the zombies already reached the store. There, they walked around stumbling over the dead bodies on the floor. "Miranda...", she sadly sighed and sobbed. She never returned back from the Food Hunt. Who will look after me now?Suddenly, her stomach began to rumble again. She stood up and went to a shelf with candies. Stuffing herself, she went looking for some drink and found a pocked cola tin and opened it. Cool ran it down her throat and she sighed happily.

Cecilia walked down the street quickly, gripping the metal pipe in her right hand. Blood dripped from the pipe, and was splattered across her body. While leaving her house, she'd encountered her first zombie. After wasting too much time beating it to a bloody pulp, Cecilia had decided it was time to move on and find other survivors. Her whole body burned and she felt pumped. Adrenalin rushed through her as her eyes flickered left and right looking for any sign of movement. The street was dark and gray as clouds covered the sky. Bodies laid scattered in front lawns and on the pavement. Most of them missing limbs or flesh.

She shivered slightly at the sight of the gory mess. But tried to push her fear away. There wasn't any time to be scared. Cecilia continued her fast pace down the road, wondering if she WOULD find anyone who had managed to escape the disgusting monsters responsible for this nightmare.

Lethal continued to walk along the path he was on and stopped only to put out his cigarette. Lethal looked around and could hear voices in the far distance. "Hmmm, wonder what's making that noise?" he asked himself and began to walk again. It was still pretty dark but with the help of the moonlight, he was able to find some sort of hiding spot. He looked at it wondering what to do and decided to take a look. His various piercings shinned in the moonlight as he approached the hiding spot. "Let's see what's in here..." he said with a smirk on his face.

Autumn assigned each girl to keep an eye and ear out for any trespassers in a schedule so that they could all get some rest. From the disheveled looks of the girls, Autumn knew she would be the first one on watch duty. Motioning the girls to grab a few of the tarps covering various lawn gear, she cleared enough space for them to lay down. The clutter and closet sized dimensions of the shed made for a tight fit and the girls were almost laying one on top of the other.

"Now, I know it's not the Ritz," Autumn replied when the girls became fussy. "Would you rather be dinner? If so, I'll show you were the exit is. Just don't expect me to open the door when they come after you." Her remark caused the girls to look at her, fear flooding their eyes as they wondered if she would do that. Autumn looked around the shed for any form of weapon. She cursed silently for leaving her pistol back inside the house, in the very room where that boy's corpse or lack of now laid. Whoever lived on this property must have been of the lazy sort. Her fingers skimmed across the riding lawn mower, which had appeared to had been used rarely. The few inches of dust and spiderwebs draped from corner to corner reassured her of this.

"Autumn..." A voice called out causing the redhead to turn her attention away from the contents of the shed and towards the blonde. "I can't sleep. They're going to get us, aren't they?"

"Not if we play it safe." She answered, squatting down closer to the girl. She noticed that the brunette companion was softly snoring. "We cannot be fighting each other. What you two did back there was a bonehead move. And it got that boy killed." Autumn felt a flash of anger flare up as she thought about all the 'what ifs.' If Autumn hadn't let her guard down because of the fight, that boy would be alive still. "Just get some sleep and in the morning, we'll move on."

He soon heard that the voices belonged to females...there were three of them, one was snoring loudly and the other two were conversing. He was watching them from behind a tree since he didn't want to be seen. He hated people but at the same time, he liked talking to them at times. He chuckled mentally to himself as he began to wonder if they would be scared when they saw him. Sadly he didn't want to risk it...he had no weapon with him and sighed quietly. Lethal continued to watch them and sneezed. "Damn it!" he whispered and wondered if they heard that.

Cecilia stopped dead in her tracks as the faint sound of moaning reached her ears. Suddenly, she was filled with fear, and her legs began to tremble. She held the metal pipe tightly as she whipped around, trying to locate where the moaning was coming from.

Unable to figure out where it was coming from, Cecilia rushed into a panic and started running. Tears pushed and stung at her eyes as she fought to keep them contained. The streets were all empty. No sign of the living or undead. As she rounded a corner she nearly collapsed. A large group of zombies were all huddled around a small convenience store, moaning loudly and shuffling around.

Cecilia quickly jumped behind a broke down car, her heart pounding hard in her chest. She peaked over the hood of the car, trying to count how many zombies waited impatiently for whatever was inside the store to let them in. Surely there were survivors inside. But there was no way she'd be able to get passed the hoard of hungry zombies. There were too many of them. She panted heavily as her mind raced. If she ran away, what were the chances of her finding others? But if she stayed, how would she get to them? And what if the zombies spotted her?

She came to the conclusion that she'd rather be alive and alone than eaten. She quickly yet quietly crawled back around the corner and stood shakily. Now what?

Mimmy hesitated as she heard someone sob near the place."
What the-?" she mumbled frightened and pulled out her knife. "Who is there?" she called out quietly and walked forwards though the whole shop.

Becca finally decided that she would have to brave the outdoors at night. She was starving and her poor dog was going crazy for some food. She pulled her blazing red hair back into a ponty tail. She slips on her high brown combat boots paired with black tights. She pulls on a white tank top, covered with a brown miliary jacket. On her way out the door, Becca grabs her belt with two 9mm pistols holstered on the side, attaching it to her waist.
"Come on Bruno." Becca calls to her excited pooch, grabbing her fathers collectible Vampire's Crest sword. It had saved her and her fathers life many a time. Becca holds the sword in front of her and slowly opens the front door, letting her dog out first. After Bruno searches the area quickly, and spotting no zombies, Becca walks out the door after the dog.
"Bruno! Heel!" Becca whispers harshly, bringing the dog back to her side. Now it's time to get past the barriers, but Becca manuvers easily around the obstacles, her dog closely at her side.
"Now lets go find some food."

Cecilia turned back around. What if they needed help? There wasn't much one small girl could do, but she had to do SOMETHING. She took a step forward and peeked around the corner again. The group of zombies continued to groan and paw at the door. If there were people in there, how would they get out? Surely they didn't plan on staying there did they?

As she crawled around the corner again, sitting against the old car, Cecilia wondered if they had weapons. Her stomach twisted and made a low growling sound. Quickly, she peaked over the front of the car to see if the small sound had alerted any of the undead. Thankfully, they were far enough away that it didn't.

It had to have been about ten hours since she'd last eaten. Her stomach growled again and she cursed under her breath. Inside that store had to be something to eat. Unless it's inhabitants had eaten all of it. If she was smart she would have grabbed some food before she left. But the sight of her grandmother's corpse laying in the kitchen made her stomach turn and she felt as if she were going to be sick.

Once again tears pushed at her eyes. Cecilia took a deep breath and tried to concentrate. Now was not the time for crying. There hadn't been enough time to grab supplies anyway with a man covered in blood with one arm drooling on her front porch.

She decided to wait a little bit longer and see if there was any sign of survivors leaving the store. Or entering.

Lethal watched the people and sighed. "This is getting boring...then again, nothing much to do anymore. Damned zombies..." he said and decided to visit his favorite mall. It had been a very long time since he had done there. "Maybe on the way, I'll find a weapons store and get myself something..." he said to himself and looked around before running off to the mall. Lethal continued to run but tried to stay hidden as much as possible. As he ran, he looked around him to see if he encountered any people. "Hmm...no one to be seen yet...I wonder..." he said and looked straight ahead, in time to dodge a tree. "Damn, I have to stay focused or else I won't be so lucky next time." he whispered.

After about ten minutes had passed, Cecilia began to grow more and more impatient. With the chance of a zombie creeping up behind her, she didn't want to wait. Her whole body was shaking. She had to find a place where she could rest and find something to eat. But where?

Suddenly it hit her. "The mall!" She whispered to herself. There were tons of different kinds of stores, so she would be able to gather supplies. Not to mention the safety of locked of shops if she could get in.

She started running down the road towards the mall. It wasn't too far away, so she would be able to make it there semi-quickly. But she had an uneasy feeling in her stomach. What if the mall was infested? No, she couldn't have thoughts like that right now. She didn't have many options, and this seemed to be the best bet.

After much futile effort, Becca decided to head to the mall. 'There's always food in the mall.' Beccan thought to hersel, also silently hoping there would be other survivors.
"Grrrrrrrrrr!" Becca twirled around at the sound of her dog growling. Behind her she saw two zombies running towards her at full speed. At first she reached for the guns, but on second though she gripped her sword.
"This is gonna be fun." She ran towards the zombies and as one grabbed her she swirled, severing its hand, than cutting off it's head. Blood splattered everywhere and the zombie dropped to the ground, still twitching, blood gushing out of it. Becca was on the other zombie before the first one touched the ground. She did a front flip over the zombie, and lunged the sword through it's back. The zombie fell and Becca pinned it to the ground, yanking her sword out of it's back. Becca then took her boot, and smashed it's head as hard as she could. Satisfied, she cleaned off her boot, and once again began heading towards the mall.
"Come on Bruno," Becca called, her dog leaping behind her, "Lets go find some food."
