Keyori and Yan Rescue Mr. Mayor!

Keyori and Yan are a crime-fighting duo on the weekends. I mean, Keyori has her day job and all, but who doesn't like to serve justice up on a silver platter on their days off? ;D

The base of operations is in the most epic tree fort in all of Menewsha. It's got everything you can think of--a kitchenette, a hammock, a bowling alley, a theater, and even TWO TOASTERS! That's like, double the toast!

BUT WAIT! Suddenly, a call comes in on the hero phone!



A mysterious man has kidnapped Mr. Mayor! And he's demanding ransom! The duo is instructed to go to Nalin's Flower Shop to retrieve a secret note detailing how to deliver the ransom. The man says if they don't figure everything out by the end of the weekend, Mr. Mayor will be gone for good!

It's a good thing Keyori has a sweet Skycar to fly around in! She and Yan hop in and zoom off to Petal Paradise!

Nalin greets them with a smile! He's always so happy!

Keyori explains that she and Yan have discover that the Mayor has been kidnapped! So a mysterious man has instructed them to come to Petal Paradise and retrieve a letter!

Nalin ponders for a bit, then goes into the back of the shop. He comes back a few moments later with an envelope with strange writing on it. He says he got it this morning and wasn't sure what to do with it because there was no return address!

He hands it to Yan, who quickly rips the envelope off and unfolds the letter.

Yan struggles with the letter, turning it around a few times before sighing heavily. Silly Yan doesn't know how to read! Poor guy!

Keyori sits Yan into her lap and reads the letter out loud. It says:

"I demand one million Easter eggs from 2010 in ransom! Deliver them to the magical glade on top of Mount Menewsha by dusk on Sunday or Mr. Mayor sleeps with the fishes!"

This letter is very troubling! And who wants Easter eggs from 2010? Those things aren't worth much at all! Keyori has like 165 of them. Clearly that's not enough to meet the ransom, but still. What is this guy up to?

Yan jumps off of her lap and starts to dance around the shop yelling, "EGG HUNT EGG HUNT EGG HUNT! EGGSEGGSEGGSEGGSEGGS!" Keyori sighs with exasperation. It's going to be a long day! She waves goodbye to Nalin, dragging Yan with her. They need to go see Jeryck. He knows where the Easter Bunny is, who will hopefully be able to provide them with enough eggs to meet the ransom!

Keyori and Yan hop back into the skycar and zoom off to Jeryck's house!

They arrive soon and see Cessy running around in the front yard with Yumeh. Keyori greets her and Yan chases Yumeh around.

Keyori asks if Jeryck is home, and Cessy says, "Of course he is silly!" She giggles and opens the front door to the house, calling for him. Jeryck comes outside and sits on a rocker on the front porch.



Meanwhile Yan and Yumeh are wrestling in the grass. Yumeh scratches Yan and then runs up a tree. Yan starts crying and runs to Keyori. She sits him in her lap again and kisses his boo-boos. Silly Yan.

She asks Jeryck where the Easter Bunny can be found these days. She explains the Mayor's kidnapping!

Jeryck seems very concerned. He says that the Easter Bunny has a secret nest in a cave on the coast on the southmost point of the island.

Keyori thanks him for his help and carries Yan back to the skycar.

Skycar takes off and suddenly Yan starts fussing! Silly Yan!

Keyori asks what is wrong. Yan points to his mouth.

"FUUUU! FUFUFU! HAHNGWEEEE!"

Yan is hungry! Well, it's close enough to lunch time. Keyori pulls over to a cute French cafe. They have the perfect pastries!

Keyori gets an omelette and a croissant. She enjoys a light lunch.

Yan on the other hand wants only sweets! ALL OF THE SWEETS!



Keyori gets him a fruit tart and a chocolate eclair. She also gets another croissant for a snack later, with ham and cheese in the middle.

Yan seems much happier now. He starts eating the eclair, getting the filling all over his face and the frosting all over his hands. He's gonna be bouncing off the walls later!

Yan reaches for the fruit tart next. But it's gone! What happened? He starts to cry!

Keyori looks around, and out of the corner of her eye catches a flash of bright red!

That butt is unmistakeable! PEEBLO! :illgetu:



Peeblo snickers and hides in a bush. Keyori gets up and starts yelling at the bush. Passers-by are staring at her.

"GIVE BACK THE TART YOU JERK! Poor little Yan is hungry! This is not a very funny joke!"

Peeblo stuffs the tart into his mouth and hops out of the bush.

"What are you talking about? I don't see a tart?" Crumbs are flying out of his mouth.

Keyori sighs, defeated. She gives Yan her spare croissant, and he stops crying. It's not sweet, but it's at least filling.

She grabs a lemonade for the road, er, sky, and they hop back into the car.

They fly to the southern tip of Menewsha and land on the beach. It's so warm, Keyori could lay on the sand forever!

Yan gets distracted by a crab. He chases it and picks it up. It wriggles around helplessly.

Keyori and Yan and the crab start walking along the beach. Suddenly they spot a cave! This must be the place.

They wander in and Keyori calls out for the Easter Bunny.



They hear a faint thumping sound. It gets louder and louder! They peer into the darkness, Yan quivering and hiding up the crab to protect him from the unspeakable horrors that could come out of the cave!

A white rabbit slowly appears from the darkness. It's the Easter Bunny! Hooray!

Yan drops the crab in the sand and runs up to the Easter Bunny. The crab scuttles away nervously.

Yan hugs the Easter Bunny tightly. "FLOOFY!" he squeals. He nuzzles the soft fur.

Keyori explains the ransom for rescuing Mr. Mayor.

"One million eggs," the Easter Bunny shakes his head. "You are welcome to my reserves, but I only have 999,835!"

"Well that's convenient," Keyori thinks to herself. Good thing she has 165 to round it off!

The bunny presses a hidden button behind some rocks in an alcove. The cave lights up. Behold! The most beautiful eggs ever to be seen!

There are so many, there's no way they're going to fit into the skycar. The Easter Bunny tries to help Keyori pack them with Yan clinging to his leg.

Keyori finally pries Yan off of the Easter Bunny's leg. She thanks the Bunny for all his help and generosity, and begins to drag the heavy sack of eggs to the top of Mt. Menewsha. Yan helpfully sits on the sack and cheered for her as she struggles up the incline.

A few hours later, they finally make it to the top! It is now dusk, and the trees in the glade at the top block any sun that would otherwise light the area. Keyori, exhausted, gently sets down the sack and unpacks the camping gear. It was a long journey and she is tired! Yan, on the other hand, is still high from the sugar in his eclair earlier. He is energetic enough to haphazardly scatter camping equipment around the area.

Key then starts a fire and unpacks some marshmallows. She walks around the site and finds a couple of pointy sticks, affixing marshmallows onto the ends, and hands them to Yan.

Yan proceeds to burn all the marshmallows, one by one. Key doesn't really mind, she likes hers a little crispy on the edges.

She also makes a few hot dogs and shares the leftover lemonade she had from earlier with Yan. Soon, full of so much yummy camping food, Yan begins to tire and his head starts to nod as he tries to fight off sleep.

Keyori pitches the tent and unrolls the sleeping bags. As the fire begins to dim, she carries Yan into the tent and hugs him closely. For a strange little creature, he is alright sometimes, she thinks. They fall asleep quickly. Tomorrow will be an interesting day indeed.

As dawn breaks through the glade, Keyori wakes up, wiping the sleep from her eyes. Yan is tangled in his sleeping bag, and she decides to let him stay for a while longer.

She exits the tent and takes a look around the campsite. Something is not quite right. Something is missing! A MILLION THINGS ARE MISSING! The eggs have vanished!

Panicking, Keyori searches the perimeter of the site. Maybe she had put them somewhere else and forgot? Maybe an animal dragged them a short distance?

No, nothing. She looks at the spot where the eggs were the night before. No signs of dragging, no footprints, nothing. They just VANISHED!

Feeling defeated, she slumps over onto a log and pouts. No sense in worrying about it right this moment, since there is no evidence of the eggs absconding from the premises. Besides, her tummy is starting to rumble and Yan will wake up soon and need breakfast. She re-lights the campfire and begins to cook.

As Keyori prepares sliced plantains and purple potatoes in a skillet over the fire, Yan sleepily wanders outside of the tent, lured by the smell of the sweet produce.

Poor Yan, he has no idea that their adventure yesterday was in vain. She ponders what to do next. Would it be possible to find the eggs? Does she need to just ask for them door-to-door? Ugh, neither of those options seem feasible at the moment.

She plates breakfast for Yan, and then herself. He quickly gobbles up his portion, asking for seconds. Such a healthy appetite! She plates more food for him, and he finishes again before she is even halfway through her first plate! She giggles and gives him the remainder. As she finishes up, he chases butterflies through the campsite. Gosh it is gorgeous! No time to sit around though, she needs to break down the campsite and head to their next location. Wherever that is. She still has no clue what to do!

As she begins to break down the tent, she suddenly hears a THUD and then Yan cries out loud! What now? She rushes over to him, concerned.

Poor Yan had tripped on a rock and skinned his knee! Keyori cleans up his boo-boo, and applies a band-aid from the first aid kit (with the awesome George the Alpaca print). Yan stopps crying, but he gives her a sad puppy look. "Boo boo?" Keyori kisses the band-aid. "YAYYYYYY!" he squeals.

Yan hopps up and runs back towards the rock. Keyori frantically tries to grab him before he trips again but it she's too late, he's out of reach!

Luckily he stops right before the rock. He turns around to looks at her and points frantically towards the stone. "RAAAAAHHHHHCK. RAHCK. RAWWWWWK."

Confuzzled, Keyori walks over to the rock. Something is sticking out from under it! What could it be?

She tries to roll it over and Yan tries to help. 1... 2... 3... PUSH! The rock tumbles over!

And... there's not actually anything under the rock, except a few rollypollys, which Yan merrily plays with.

But the underside of the rock has some mysterious writing! Keyori can barely comprehend it.



"HA HA U thought it would B tahat easy!!!

Wow, this does not sound like the first letter at all! But this mysterious figure admits to having the mayor!

And what's this about a secret cave? Keyori is very confused. Yan doesn't know what to make of it either, of course. What a mystery!

Well, Keyori knows who to get help from next, but they'll need to make it back to Skycar.

Keyori quickly grabs all the camping gear and then carries Yan down the mountain. Man this stuff is heavy! But, without all those eggs, and going downhill, the trip is so much quicker! They make it to Skycar in no time.

Keyori flies the car back to town. They need to go to Quercus Magus, to see its keeper, Abel.



It's Sunday! The shop is closed! AUGH.

Keyori and Yan peer into the shop. What now? They try going around to the back. Keyori knocks on the back door. No answer. But Yan finds a wooden door to the basement, cracked partially open. How strange! Key doesn't remember that being there before!

They descend into the damp basement. Abel is at a work station, tinkering with something that looks like a chemistry set. Keyori apologizes for barging in, and Abel is clearly irritated. She explains the situation with the Mayor and the disappeared eggs and the mysterious hidden cave. Of course Abel has what she needs! He shoves a small flask of glowing liquid and a map into her hands and shoves her and Yan out the door before they even have a chance to thank him. What are they supposed to do with this stuff? The door locks behind them. Abel is such a hermit!

Keyori looks at the map. What is the bear for? And, the X marks the cave entrance probably? Only one way to find out. She flips the map over. There's a message on the back that says, "Throw the vial at the blue rock." Well, that sounds ominous.

Yan tugs at Keyori's hand. "HANGWHEE!" Is it lunch time already? Keyori decides it's probably better to go eat before going on a wild goose chase. Or treasure hunt. Or rescue mission. Or whatever it is they're about to do! She's given up on trying to keep track at this point. She just wants the Mayor safe so she can go home and play video games with Yan. That sounds perfect right about now.

They stop at a burger shop briefly. Keyori gets a cheeseburger and fries. Yan gets a triple-cheeseburger and onion rings. She still doesn't understand his appetite!

As they finish up the meal, Keyori takes another look at the map. Well, their destination seems on the north side of Menewsha, go figure. They're all over the island this weekend!

Keyori hopes the bear is just for decoration. Yan doesn't need to be playing with bears.

They drive the skycar to the wooded area, and get as close to their destination as possible. They have to walk about a mile through the thick woody underbrush though. Good thing Keyori has a machete! Yan grabs for it but she doesn't let him use it. What kind of irresponsible person would give a Yan a machete, anyway?

After about 30 minutes of walking and hacking, they finally reach the spot marked on the map. Before them towers the base of Mt. Menewsha, and some rocky outcrops.

Most noticeably, is a huge. Blue. Rock.

How bizzare! Keyori thinks to herself. Yan runs up to the rock and begins to lick it. Keyori drags him away. Silly Yan, rocks are not for eating! She'll have to make a big dinner when they get home.

Keyori pulls out the glowing flask that Abel gave her earlier. It changes colors when she holds it up in the light. What a bizarre object!

Nothing else to do but follow the instructions on the back of the map! She throws it at the rock.

KABOOM!

A large explosion and a ton of smoke fill the area!

Keyori and Yan cough as the smoke clears. She peers through it as best as she can. The rock didn't really explode, it looks like.

More like it just vanished! There's no evidence that there was ever a blue rock. Not the tiniest blue pebble!

It's like it disappeared in a literal puff of smoke.

This day is so weird! But Keyori has had enough. She takes Yan by the hand and walks towards the spot the rock once stood.

It turns out it really was blocking a cave entrance! How convenient!

She's ready to meet this kidnapper and give him a piece of her mind! They walk into the cave.

They slowly make it through the cave. It's lit by wall sconces that appear older than Jeryck!

As they make it into the main chamber, Yan tears away and jumps into a colorful pile of balls!

No, wait, those aren't balls... they're EGGS!

This room is filled with MILLIONS of eggs!

It's Afrodonkey! He's the one who stole all the eggs!



Keyori gives him a piece of her mind, and uses a bunch of naughty words. She says he can keep the stupid eggs but she wants the Mayor. Various threats are exchanged. Eventually Keyori wins, because she has a machete.

Yan takes the hand of the Mayor, who was napping in the back room the whole time. They leave promptly.

The trio piles into the skycar, and Keyori flies them back to the epic tree fort. She asks what Mayor was doing the whole time he was kidnapped. He says he was invited to a tea party there and then he fell asleep. He wasn't kidnapped, he was just tired! Keyori bangs her head against the wheel of the skycar several times.

She invites him to dinner anyway. She orders Thai food, because Yan likes the spicy curries. She gets pad thai and Mr. Mayor has a little bit of everything, nibbling politely.

This sure was a strange adventure! But she is glad that both the Mayor and Yan are safe. She is looking forward to a quiet week ahead.
