It's a topic about Endangered Species in your area. Here in Missouri we have a few species that are close to the brink of Extinction.
The first is the Alligator Snapping Turtle/ Smooth Shell Snapping Turtle : Used to roam around the Missouri River,Osage River,Truman Lake, and a few minor city lakes.
Dogfish:Related to the shark. Used to be numerous in the creeks&lakes in Sourthern Missouri. Also frequents the Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee.
Paddlefish: Used to be numerous in the Pond De Terre,Stockton Lake, and Bull Shoals Lake. Since they are a popular game/food fish& a favorite of Fish Poachers to be sold in a herb shop and/or Collectors of Prefistoric Fish/water gardens in Asia.

Aww, poor turtles. I know there's lots of birds around here (cali) that are going extinct... Mostly eagles.
Also, ermines and grouse are slowly dying out, because all of the logging. *sigh*

NOOO, NOT THE DOGFISH! I think those little fishies are kinda cute.

The eagles and turkeys have made a comeback in my county. We also have cranes. The Carolina Parakeet is Extinct thanks to farmers.

Poor parakeet. Well, I'm glad that at least some of the birdies are surviving...

Its pretty sad that the polar bears are going extinct.

I don't think the cougar will ever go extinct... There's like hundreds of them in california.

The situation is different though, because the polar bears main habitat is falling apart...

Both the African and Asian Elephant are currently running out of habitat. In Missouri the Mountain Lion/Cougar is close due to hunting and loss of habitat.

Most of the Manatee's problem is the use of motorboats.

Did you know that they were mistaken for Mermaids? They also live in the Everglades.
