Johnson, a trained guard, grabbed the reporter and brought him back over to Idox, who brought his hand up to Nathaniel's face gently. "You didn't think I wasn't going to let you go, did you? Just because I committed one of the most infamous crimes in history doesn't mean I'm going to kill someone who bears me no ill will. You're a reporter, what I tell you is of my own accord. I'm telling you what I wish because," Idox leaned and whispered in the reporter's ear. "I'm not afraid. No one can touch me." Idox lifted Johnson's hands off of Nathaniel. "There's no need to run. We're not going to follow you. Report whatever you want to the press. And," Idox reached into the reporter's pocket, finding a tape recorder. He flicked the record switch on it. "My name is Idox Marle Gilligan. I am responsible for the murder of my father and the numerous others who inhabited his casino. It was easy for me to break and enter because I had the key ready. As for how my crew and I killed without leaving a mark or a trace, we'll leave that to your imagination. Ta." He tucked the tape recorder into the reporter's pocket. "Anything else you'd like to know?"

Nathaniel squirmed under the boy's touch and struggled for the right words to say. "You're just going to..." He swallowed thickly and started again, "You're just going to admit to that? What about the police? Surely not all of them are corrupted? You're sick, 'ya know that? And you!" Nathaniel turned his attention back to the waitress, who seemed to become much quieter in the last few minutes, "How could you even... how could you ever support him?"

Words seemed to find a way to work out of his mouth, and his journalist side hoped for some more drama. The logical and human side of him- not so much. It could have been the adrenaline, it might even have been him, but in that one moment of sudden courage, he tore himself from the guards grip, and-

Now he had no idea what to do. Behind him was an angry guard, and in front of him, a psychopathic murderer.

"Now, now," Idox laughed coldly. "Do you really think you can do anything?" He picked another cigarette out of the pack, lit it, and took a puff, blowing in the reporter's face. "I gave you the option to leave quietly with the information you had, and considering the crimes I've committed, that's pretty generous." He took another puff. "However, if you want more information, then I'm glad to give it. But there's no need for more violence." Johnson grabbed the reporter again and picked him up, bringing him over to the restaurant as Idox followed. The guard plopped the man in a booth, and he and Idox sat down opposite the frightened reporter.

Idox smiled gently. "I never said anything about the police being corrupted. Or, not in the way that they have a drug habit or don't care when 'bad people' do 'bad things.' No, they're scared. Scared shitless. Johnson is a guard hired by me from the elite ranks of the mafia. So you're talking to the twisted son of a casino owner who had mafia connections. Using my father's connections, I learned a very precise way of killing a large group of people and not have them scream. Thanks to my father's insurance and the inheritance from his will, my net worth is about thirty million dollars." Taking another puff of the cigarette, the boy continued. "Money can't bring happiness, but it can bring sadness and pain. And if those things happen to please you," Idox chuckled. "Then things are all right."

"I can walk, thank you very much!" He growled and settled into his booth. Nathaniel had to wonder: 'What happened to Idox as a kid?' The child was definitely the least sane person he had met in his entire life- and he was a reporter, no less. He took another breath and tried a different way out. "I was lying. I'm actually a cop in disguise- and I'm scared. Scared shitless, actually. So, how about I take you up on that offer of leaving quietly?" He had tucked his notebook back into his coat pocket a long while ago, but he still had that old recorder somewhere.

Idox smiled. "You're a cop, you say?" He took another puff of his cigarette. "Then where's your badge?"

Tristian arrived late at the casino. This was the next closes one from the crime scene and the squad thought it would be best to snoop around for clues here. So there he was walking in the front doors.

He had just got in when he saw people standing over a man who was bleeding from his face. Tristian rushed over to the crowd, "What is going on here? How did this happen?" he demanded answers from the crowd. He could not play his cop card so he was relying on the good old fashion gossipers to inform him.

"Sorry to follow a cliche, but I am, officer." Idox enjoyed the puzzled look on his face. "No one but a police officer would come in shouting about what was going on. Anyways, I'd really enjoy seeing you try to take me in, but I have an appointment." The boy motioned to his guard. "Johnson. We're going."

Tristian laughed at the boy, "I remember seeing you somewhere else before..." He scratch his head, "Nah, just my mind playing tricks on me! As for the cop thing, nosy ass people will do it to! And that my friend, I'm afraid, is all I am! I don't know how you react to things, but normal humans would rush over to a scene like this and what to know what happen." He smiled at him, "But, really I have no idea how psychopathic children would act! So be on your way child." He walk away from the boy.

Something in Idox's head snapped. The word psychopathic got to him. "Really?" Idox laughed. "Psychopathic?" Idox ran up behind the man, drawing his knife, and held it to his throat. "Psychopathic enough for you?" Idox dug his hand into the man's back pocket and pulled out his wallet. He flipped it open, seeing the badge inside. "Just a nosy person, huh?" He threw the wallet to his guard. "I think we'll be taking someone with us today, Johnson." Johnson chuckled and grabbed the officer's own cuffs and slammed them onto him. He grabbed the man by the scruff of his neck and forced him into the back of the car.

Idox stepped into the passenger seat, closed the door, and turned around. "A bit different on the receiving end, isn't it?"

Tristian Laughed at him, "Do you really think that I believed you would just walk away from a comment like that and leave? How stupid do you peg me for? Your just like your father Idox, He believed people to be stupid also, thats why it was easy for you to pull that little stunt off!" The whole time he was talking to the boy he slipped the key out of the hiding spot in the back of his belt and unlocked the cuffs and slipped it back in its hiding place. he then brought his hands to the front and rubbed his wrist, "Just to let you know if you wanted me to come along all you had to do was ask!"he slapped the cuffs around the boys own wrist. he laughed and looked at the boy, "But really if you where trying to prove that your not crazy...that was so not the way to go about it!" he reached down to his belt again and pulled the knife from its hiding place and held it down by his side. With the other hand he pulled the cuff keys out and threw them toward Idox, "See anyone can slap cuffs on someone! Do you think in a normal situation I would have been stupid enough to carry my badge on me and have cuffs visible? No, I heard that you where hanging around here so I was sent in to find you. Looks like I won!"

Nathaniel's reaction was somewhere between a sigh of relief and a dark chuckle. He wondered if he should be writing about children these days and attention issues. As quickly as Nathaniel had taken his attention, it had been shifted to the real police officer. He climbed out of his seat and as subtly as he could, crawled along the bottom of the wall. His glance fell back upon the officer outside, and smiled; Nathaniel could probably guess what was coming now, but he was really more focused on getting the hell out. "I don't get paid enough for these kinds of things..." Nathaniel readjusted the damp bandages over his right eye (or what was left of it, anyways) and slowly got up, quickening his crawl to a jog of sorts.

Idox laughed. "Kill me, then. But you're missing part of your investigation, officer. After all, isn't part of your assignment to find out the significance of the Black Jack and the Ace of Spades?" Johnson was smirking. He flipped open a small compartment on the steering wheel, revealing a glass cover, which he slid open, revealing a small red button. "I've prepared for this kind of situation, officer. You must imagine that I'm prepared for anything. The red button you see arms a bomb that will go off as soon as the button is pressed." Johnson drew his gun at this and pointed it at the officer's head. "So if you don't want us all to go up in flames, I'd suggest removing the knife from my throat." Idox chuckled again. "I've waited many years to finally put my plans in motion, and I won't have some moron like you fucking them up. Understand, officer? Even should I die, there are more than enough people willing to continue my work. However, I'd rather do the work myself." With that, he turned his eyes toward Johnson. "Give me a light, will you?" Johnson drew a packet of cigarettes from his pocket with his free hand and popped one in the boy's mouth. Putting away the cigarettes, he pulled out his lighter and lit the boy's smoke, as Idox inhaled deeply, blowing smoke into the air of the car.
