Yazelinas eyes lit up.
"May I ask what it is you want back from her?"
SHe was seriously curious. What could this girl have that he would want back.

Roderick sighed lightly. "She has a servant of mine. She claimed to only want to borrow her to clean my tunic, but she refused to return her at sunset." Roderick sipped his wine and glared across the room still.

Percival grinned. "He certainly does. What a talent, eh?" He laughed lightly and looked away from Roderick. The sight of him was turning his stomach.

Yazelina looked at the girl and then back at Roderick.
"Why is this servant so important to you? You have quite a few of them. I would not think losing one would matter any."

Roderick shrugged lightly and set his cup down, "I wouldn't be so irked if she wasn't so expensive. I paid 7,000 gold florins for her. Not the most I've ever paid, but I haven't gotten what I paid for. Why buy an apple if you're just going to throw it away, right?"

She frowned listening to him.
"What exactly do you want to get out of her?"
She hoped it was not what she was thinking. She did not want to think about him rapeing these girls. They are all so pretty and she worried about them.

Roderick let out a small, muffled laugh around his food and gave a soft shake of his head. He took a moment to chew and swallow, then washed it down with a sip of wine, "My Lady, I haven't gotten her maiden head. What else would I want? Naerwen is more or less useless. She's educated, but at the same time, very stupid. She has no common sense, no respect for her Master, and no desire to do what she's told. But even so, I paid a pretty penny and I want what I paid for."

Roderick spoke of it so casually. It was as if he was really talking about apples and not a girl.

Yazelina could not beilive what she was hearing. It was like he thought they were pets or something that could be used and then thrown away. What was wrong with this guy. She tried to keep her tone even as she spoke. She tried to keep from letting him know just how discusted she was by the way he was acting and treating his girls.
"Well I understand that that is a lot of money and you need to get it paid back to you. I apologize that you can not treat your girls as more than a pet. They are people after all. They deserve respect. I would never think of range as someone to just use and then get rid of when I was done with her."

Roderick paused and looked to her. For a second, he just stared, then shook his head lightly, "Your sympathy for those beneath you astounds and confuses me. I am afraid, my dear, that we have come from two very different worlds. I was born to privilege and those girls aren't. You might think differently and I cannot stop you, but I will not change my ways. Besides, you should hear the way my cousin speaks of peasants. You'd think me a saint."

Roderick turned to his plate again, but leaned back in his chair and stared at it for a long moment, before picking up a grape and popping it into his mouth.

She nodded her head but did not speak for fear of saying something else he would not agree with. Her parents would kill her if she ruined an opportunity to get with someone so well respected. She may not like him much but as she was required she did respect him.
"I apologize for being so forward but as you said I will not change my ways."
She had not touched the food for ever young lady knew not to eat a lot in public. She took a grape and nibbled on it her green eyes flashing. She would not let him make a fool of her even though she knew there was nothing she could really do to stop him and yet she was beside herself for why she was feeling some passion towards him. She felt as though she would not mind getting to know him better.

Roderick didn't say anything else. He just continued to eat his supper. He would glance around every once in a while, but his mind seemed elsewhere. He was deep in thought again and his face would occasionally give that away.

Yazelina just sat there munching on grapes staring at him with her bright green eyes.
"So tell me a littlemore about yourself sir."

He sipped his wine and shrugged, "Well, there's not much to know. I was born in Kent to Duke Phillip and his wife, Bristol. I was raised in our manor there. I have no siblings, but I have nine cousins. I spent a lot of my time with them," he thought for a moment, "I squired under Lord Percival across the way."

He shrugged lightly and finished off his wine. He leaned back, "And yourself?"

Percival continued through his supper. When he felt he was getting a little full, he leaned back and sipped his wine. He smiled lightly and looked to the Lady, "I was thinking it was nearly time for a piece of cinnamon cake, but the sweetness coming from you is sating my sweet tooth quite nicely." He laughed lightly. He truly was cheesy, but quite charming.

A proper lady never arrived late. Sabine did so strive to be a proper lady, on the outside, at least. She entered the hall where the banqueting was taking place, for a moment there was a slight frown upon her pale blue painted lips. Rather quickly that frown turned to a smile as those azure colored eyes swept over the people gathered here. At least she was what is considered 'fashionably' late. A light giggle passed her lips at that thought, those eyes finding someone rather familiar at the same time.

Sabine ran her hands over her gown, as if to smooth out any wrinkles. It was long and flowing. Pale blue trimmed with a darker blue and very low cut in the front. Almost embarrassingly so. That long snow-white hair was up in a rather complicated looking design of braids and blue ribbons that impeccably matched her gown. She walked rather quietly, save the swishing of that long gown, one delicate hand held her gown a bit. So as to not trip on it. Once she reached her desired destination she cleared her throat very softly and seated herself next to Sir Roderick. "Lord Roderick, didst thy senses take leave of thee?" She leaned forward a bit to peer around him at the lady sitting on his other side. Taking in the woman's inappropriate gown with calm indifference. Her eyes were on Roderick again. "I never wouldst have expected thee to bring one of thine harem girls to a royal banquet." Her voice was soft, as it often was and seemed mildly curious.

Being full Azara leaned back in her chair with her wine glass in her hand. When Percival spoke she started to laugh. Putting her hand across her mouth Azara looked up to him, a smile across her eyes. "I do say you truely are a treat my Lord. Such flattery and charm will get you far." Azara was starting to like the man. He had a great sense of humor and they way he talked was elegant but fun at the same time.

Yazelina grinned.
"Well I was born in York. I was raised up with five sisters who died from scarlett fever. My parents made sure I went to the best school and stuff. And thats kinda why im here. Im in a finishing school. Its probably gonna be another year before im done. My parents are waiting for someone rich to offer to marry me. I think they just want me away from them."
SHe frowned thinking about it.

Roderick listened to Yazelina carefully, nodding at her words. Normally one would offer sympathy toward the knowledge of someone's loss, but he said nothing. Concern flashed over his features, but it was gone quicker than a lightning bolt. He just sipped his wine, nodding again, "They don't want to be rid of you. They simply want a good life for you."

When the Duchess sat down, he turned to her, a slight grin on his lips, "My Lady, do I look like an imbecile? This is Lady Yazelina." Roderick turned to Yazelina, "My dear, this is Sabine De'Winter. She is the Duchess of the neighboring province to my own, Sussex. We have known each other for quite some time." Roderick grinned at Lady Sabine.

Percival laughed lightly again and set his cup down, "I dare say, if I have any more wine, my tongue will flap of it's own accord and I will say all sorts of silly things. Would you like to take a sobering walk with me outside, my Lady?" Percival, though still sitting, offered Azara his arm with a dashing smile.

"Mine impeccable manners doth prevent me from answering such a silly question with honesty." Sabine had smiled a bit impishly at Roderick in response to his rhetorical question of looking like an imbecile. At the introductions though, Sabine composed herself. That impish smile turning more to a proper polite smile as she nodded her head towards Yazelina. "Tis a pleasure to meet thee Lady Yazelina." Her gaze returned to Roderick for a moment and once again she smiled impishly at him before reaching over and taking his cup of wine. She sniffed at it once, brought it to her lips and sipped it.

That delicate nose of her's wrinkled with distaste and disdain almost immediately and she quickly sat that cup back down. "Such an atrocious wine. I would not let my dogs lap at such a foul drink. Pray tell how is it that thou can stomach such a distasteful brew?" Her gaze had almost meaningfully darted towards Yazelina. Honestly Sabine disapproved of a lady that showed too much skin in the wrong areas and Yazelina was definitely showing too much in the wrong areas. Sabine puffed her chest out just a bit and straightened somewhat in her chair. Making her features in a certain area a little more noticeable.

Laughing again Azara gripped Percival's arm and let him help her up. "I think a nice sobering walk outside would be perfect my Lord." Looking to him Azara gave him a bright smile.

Noticing Azara and Percival standing up Striker shifted so he could follow them. He hated not being next to her but he still trusted the older man to take care of her and keep her out of danger.

When the new person showed up Range immediatly went over to the table. She walked over to Lina and took her hand in hersand took a seat next to her on the floor.
"Everything ok miss?"
Range heard the comments by the new person and growled. She was not happy with her lady being called a harem girl. Her dress may have shown a bit to much but it was the way Lina perfered to dress. She was not interested in being called a lady. That had been the reason she was going to finishing school in the first place.

Yazelina smiled at Range and kissed her hand.
"Everything is perfectly fine my love. You may stay if you wish. Are you hungry?"
Looking back at the others.
"A pleasure to meet you miss." Yazelina may be nice on the outside but the fact she did not call the duchess by name showed just how much respect she had for her.
"Its nice to know its not only your Harem girls you perfer to keep you company sir Roderick."
She was insinuating something and she figured it would get him mad and thats what she wanted.

Roderick watched Sabine sip his wine, then insult it. He took the cup back gently, giving her a grin, "My dear, all dogs need a bit of slop every once in a while. That way, when the fine wines come across their lips, they appreciate it all the more."

Roderick leaned back in his chair, bringing his ankle up to rest on his other knee. He let the two ladies greet each other, then grimaced lightly at Yazelina's comments. He waited a moment, then put his wine glass down. He leaned toward her slightly and said lowly so that only she could hear, "Do behave yourself, Yazelina. Insulting Sabine will not cause problems for me. It will cause problems for the people of Kent." And with that said, he leaned back in his chair and glanced to Sabine, "Have something to eat, my dear."

Percival escorted Azara slowly outside and took in a deep breath. His head cleared a little as they walked along the castle walls, "It's a beautiful night, no?"

As they walked outside Azara absorbed all the beauty around herself. She loved to be outdoors and oh did it make her want to fly. "It is a very beautiful night. I do love taking strolls outside. It's my absolute favorite thing, good choice my Lord." Turning her head to the side she glanced up at Percival with a small before turning away to look around herself again.

"There is wisdom in thy words.." She had murmured softly to Roderick's response of the wine. When Yazelina called her 'miss' Sabine's brow furrowed slightly. "Miss?" Sabine cast a half hearted glance this way and that before her gaze settled on Yazelina again. "I am no maid, dear Lady. Mine station and standing doth demand that I be spoken to with some semblance of respect." Sabine smiled kindly to Yazelina. "I do so hope that we mayest become good friends, Lady Yazelina."

Sabine sat back in her chair, like a proper lady. Straight and proud. Looking to Roderick with a soft smile as he offered some food. "It does look rather succulent, does it not?" She eyed the food only half interested. "I must refuse however," One delicate hand was brought to rest lightly on her abdomen. "I do so love this figure of mine, too much succulent food I fear wouldst fill me out in all the wrong places."

Yazelina frowned at Rodericks responce and sighed. She knew she should be respectful. She growled when no one even mentioned Range. She was a servant so who cared. Yazelina hated that attitude so badly. She grabbed some of the choicest morsels and pushed them to Range on a plate.
"Please eat my dear. YOu look famished."
She turned back to Sabine and smiled.
"I apologize Lady Sabine. Sometimes my mouth just runs away with itself. Yes lets be friends. Very good friends. By the way meet my bodyguard Range. She is a fire elemental."

Range took the food and began stuffing her face. Itwas so good. She did so love to eat. She smiled at Sabine.

Roderick merely shook his head at Sabine, "You're a silly woman, my Lady." He leaned back and finished his wine as Yazelina spoke to Sabine. He glanced to Range, then merely looked forward again and said after she was introduced, "Whom better be on her best behavior in such company." Roderick seemed adamant about impressing the Lady Sabine and also not angering her. His purpose was yet unknown, however. Perhaps it was the risk of starting a feud? He certainly didn't want that. Not for himself, nor for the people of his land.

He smiled as he walked, "Walking through the night is one of my favorite things to do as well. It is very calming and gives new energy to the spirit." Percival stifled a yawn as they walked, looking up to the stars that hung in the sky.

Sabine pat Roderick's arm lightly, almost in a reassuring way..but what was she reassuring him of? "Forgive my lack of manners, Lady Yazelina." Sabine nodded politely towards Range. "Good evening, Miss Range." She smiled almost amused at Roderick. "All women are silly, dear Knight." Then she winked softly at Yazelina. "I shall leave you two at it then, I doth thinkest that it is time I retire from the banquet."

Slowly Sabine rose from her chair and stepped away from it. She leaned close to Roderick and whispered into his ear, kissed his cheek in a friendly manner and began to make her way towards an exit. Such banquets, Sabine found tiresome. The Ladies there always seemed as if they were trying to outdress each other..and the air around them always seemed full of useless gossip and unfounded rumours of the most absurd kind.
