Her words were similar to his. Though not his, they did bring the raven into the back of his mind. It was bittersweet, to see him there.

Would he really be mad? Would he really want his beloved friend dead? Would Aleu's death truly fall on his hands?

Melik.

A faint voice buzzed within his skull.

Do you honestly think I could blame you?

A chill washed over him. He blinked, turned to find Eleanor on the way out.

"Wait," he called to her. Turning, he patted the spot beside him. "Would you..." his cheeks became pink. "Stay?"

He always hated being alone and he could sense that she did too. Her facade was a hard one to break down, but he knew that everyone hated to be alone. It was just the way of life. So long as man had a brain, he would want the company of another for loneliness is, well... lonely.

If she did decide to join him, Melik would loop his pinkie finger with hers. He would share a sincere smile with her before returning to his own thoughts. It was the same gesture he shared with Rroy time and time again. Whenever he was scared, Rroy would call him over and they would sit like this. Well, it would start like this. Melik would eventually move himself so he was between Rroy's arms and sitting square on his lap. He liked the way Rroy's breath kissed the side of his neck and cheek. He always found it enduring. No, protective.

The pair had a very brotherly affection about them. Melik, though a year older, often took on the role of Rroy's younger brother. Whenever nightmares ailed his mind, Rroy would climb into bed with him and hold him until he fell into a peaceful sleep.

It was innocent and sweet, exactly what Melik needed.

If you see me as innocent and sweet, then why do you think such ill thoughts of me?

Melik's eyes widened. His pinkie curled around hers more.

Don't think all is forsaken, Melik. You have no need to feel broken. Remember, sometimes the darkness can show you light.

A softer, kinder look grew on Melik's face.

"Rroy," he whispered. His pinkie retracted and he sat up. A smile grew on his face.

"It takes total darkness within to rekindle the light that burns brightest within the soul." His hand slowly moved to rest on his chest. "Ignite it," his eyes closed and he let his memories flood back. He could see Rroy's hand reaching out to touch his cheek and he clung helplessly to his mother's corpse. His smile was genuine, one of love and compassion. One of understanding. He knew what it was like to take life. He knew what it was like to stop the demons. He knew what it was like to fight relentlessly for what he believed it. "Don't ever give in."

Eyes slipping to Eleanor, he flashed her a cheeky grin. "It's funny how we find the greatest strength during our lowest hours." He smirked again. "Rroy's right. Sometimes the darkness can show you the light."

The fog that once clouded his eyes seemed to waft away. Reaching his hand out, he took Eleanor's back in his own. "I don't know why I was given this path, but I'll fight to protect what you have here. I'll make sure hope doesn't become a memory."

"Wait." That one word, it got Eleanor every time. Stopping, she turned around to look at the male, an eyebrow raised. She looked back the way the had been heading, then back to the male before lifting her head to looking up and dropping it with a sigh, one hand massaging her brow. Begrudgingly she made her way back towards the male, pulling herself to the far end of the crate where she crossed one leg over the other, her arms crossed under her chest.

Granted, it wasn't like this person had any intentions of keeping that barrier up as he wrapped his pinkie around one of hers, pulling her arms free from their self entanglement. She rolled her eyes over to the male giving him a 'really' look. She then looked away, leaning her head against one of the crates as they just sat in silence.

When his pinkie tightened more, Eleanor jumped, straightening as she looked around and then at the male. "What? What's wrong?" The male seemed to be talking to himself as he released her pinkie and hopped off the box. He finally looked back at her, talking again, this time about some 'Rroy' guy. The woman's eyes wandered, not quite sure what to say or do with this one.

His hand wrapped around her own and the woman's eyes locked on him, wide and alert, there may also have been a look of disgust on her face. "Uhhh, right, thanks?" She said, trying to pull her hand away from his, but he didn't seem to want to let go just yet.

"Eleanor! Eleanor!" A voice yelled as feet stammered against the ground. The woman's head spun around to see the panicked eyes of three people, well two, the third had a teasing look in their eyes.

"Ooooh, I didn't know we were interrupting something," Nyx teased causing Eleanor to forcefully pull her hand away from Melik, not giving him the option to hold on longer at this point. The comment also brought a swift elbow into the stomach from Noah, which caused the water woman to double over, a winded laugh coming from her.

Eleanor's eyes then locked onto a pair or red and a pair of blue orbs. "What is it," she asked hopping down from the box.

A look for worry formed on Noah and the white haired woman's face. "Eleanor, they're here and they're angry," Noah said, the panic in her voice. The woman's eyes then snapped to the ends of the woman's pale hair, only her eyes didn't have to fall far for her locks were growing more and more red by the moment.

"There, there are a lot of them," the white haired girl spoke up, though her voice was faint, her hands nearly covering her mouth as she just about hid behind Noah.

Eleanor's eyes flashed up to a dangerous wile again as she shouted, "Reginald!"

A man's voice lazily called back as a tanned muscled man walked up behind the three women rubbing his neck. His tan skin seemed to glisten as though he were wearing suntan oil, though that wasn't quiet the case; his skin was far from flesh, it was diamond. "Reggie, ma'am, Reggie and I'm right here."

The woman shot him a glare before saying, get everyone out of here. Get those that can carry things to grab what they can and run. Leave the cots and sleeping bags if we have to. We'll make due later." The man then nodded as Eleanor continued, "Nyx." The white haired woman was straightening, her joking humor gone as she nodded at the woman. "You said you found a potential place scouting one day. Take them there."

Placing a hand firmly on the redhead's back, she pushed him towards the others. "You go with them, get out of here. I'll hold them off."

A gasp came from the red eyed woman as she meekly said, "B-but you can't hold them off by yourself. Y-you'll die!" Nyx shook her head, putting a hand on her shoulder. "If Eleanor says she can do it, she can do it. She hasn't shown anyone what she can do so it's gotta be something great if she can handle this."

Eleanor nodded at Nyx, though she was appreciative of the confidence, the look on her face was stern. "Now go, you have to get as far away as you can before they get here."

As the other four turned to run back, Eleanor made her way past the crates towards the large bay doors of the warehouse. They would be coming from there, it was the largest entrance and it faced the Facility.

He cocked a brow. Interrupting something? He looked over at Eleanor. Was he interrupting her? With a light gasp, he stepped away before running a hand through his hair. Honestly, he wasn't helping the situation any, especially with the sheepish look on his face.

Finally, he loosened up and gave Anastasia a small wave. He would have waved at Nxy but she was too busy smirking about something. And he didn't know the other woman.

Well, technically he didn't know the white haired girl either but that was beside the point.

He stifled a laugh at the name Eleanor barked out. Reginald? What kind of horrible, awful name was that. Amused, he covered his lips with his hand but that was a fleeting gesture. Seconds later, he was getting a good shove toward the women and the glistening diamond-skinned man.

"Uh?" Unlike the others, Melik stoppped in his tracks. Doubling back, he skipped over to Eleanor's side. Much like a playful kitten, he pounced two and fro, not having the slightest clue as to what was actually happening.

"Oh, are friends coming?" If he were born with a tail, it would have been wagging.

Wait. He stopped and placed a hand on his chin. Why would they be running if friends were coming.

Orbs narrowing, a shudder shot down his spine. Not friends, enemy! Was it the Elite Guard--the warriors in red? Or was it someone else?

Dancing around to Eleanor's side, he took up a rather lazy stance. His footing was sloppy and his hands seemed to bend in a queer manner.

"Offense or defense?" He tilted his head to the side. "I'm good at both," he chirped. Who would believe him though? He had a high number, which meant he hadn't been at the facility long. There was no way in hell he would be any good. Not to mention, his emotions were all over the place. His mind was frayed. How could he possible end up helping anyone in his disheveled state of mind.

He cracked a joke, "Or shall I just pull a Rroy?" Not that she would understand the joke for she knew nothing of the man. If she did, she would realize that a Rroy wasn't really the best thing. There were good plans. Bad plans. And then the bad plans that were done really fast. The Rroy plans. The kind of plan that relied on skills and luck alone.

She was pissed, he knew she would be. Regardless of what she would do, he won't leave. She could literally shove him out and he would come skipping right back. Like a loyal puppy, he refused to leave her side.

"Don't worry about me. That ol' harpoon was just a flesh wound. I'm totes fine. I got dis. You just worry about yourself, m'kay?"

Just remember, he's 26. Or maybe that's just the lie he tells everyone....

That voice. Eleanor paused her determined march to slowly look at the male, was he really? "What. Are. You doing?" She asked through grit teeth. Though this didn't seem to phase him any as he asked if friends were coming. When he danced around her, taking some sort of horrible form; was he supposed to be ready for combat, the woman was getting furious.

"No, you're not staying here, you have to leave with the others," she repeated, though from the way he brought up this Rroy figure, he wasn't listening to her. The glare on her face didn't seem to phase him either.

"Fine," she spat. "Stay out of my way and if you die, that's your own problem." She squared herself to the bay doors, not trying a sideways stance to shrink her as a target.

Everything fell silent, there was no movement from inside except for the breathing of those two.

Suddenly there was a loud boom, the massive doors flying towards the two along with other dust and debris. The shrapnel was thrown to the side as Eleanor's arm elongated into a black whip, slapping them to the side like it was nothing.

A chuckle could be heard over what sounded like a radio. "SS-1, eh? We've been looking for you for quite a long time, missy." As the dust settled, it looked like an army was before them. They were covered head to toe with armor and different weapons. Hovering not too far away were a couple of helicopters filled with soldiers and weapons as well. "So, 1, where are the rest of your friends, hmmm? You certainly had a lot of footprints heading this way."

The heat within those Olive eyes intensified as she lowered her head to peer at the army from the tops of her eyelids. "My name is Eleanor, it would do you well to remember that," she hissed at them slowly walking towards them.

The whole group seemed to laugh as the one replied, "Not like it matters, we'll bring you home soon and all this will seem like a bad dream." Without so much as a movement, multiple men fired their weapons, not bullets, but explosives. Eleanor was a bit of a mystery to them; no one had kept the best of records on her at the time, they tested random and various things on her but no one could say what came from what or if there were things about her they didn't know.

The shots hit all around Eleanor, the dust and concrete exploding everyone, blocking out vision. "What the hell," that radio voice came as the dust slowly started to settle. Where the woman stood was an eerie black creature who's body seemed to continuously move like fluid and on its back, the branding of SS00001 was clear as day.

Bending over, Eleanor's new form gripped the shattered concrete floor and pulled. The fluid like substance that formed the body seemed to move quicker as the concrete groaned as it was pulled away. The chunk was easily three times the girl's original size and this form handled it like it were merely a moderate weight. The soliders seemed to noticably worry about the creature that was before them and as soon as that concrete chunk went flying, many of them scattered, some weren't so lucky.

As the flooring flew, the creature turned back towards the red haired male before continue it's slow walk towards the soldiers. They were so occupied on their 'SS-1' that they rounds were all fired upon her, the male behind her didn't even exist at this point. As those bullets came into contact with the body, it hardened, deflecting them away as though they were ping pong balls.

Boy was she not happy! Thankfully, the door came crashing down. Er, is that really a 'thankfully' moment? With Melik it was for it meant he didn't need to worry about her death glares. If she bore into his soul any longer, he might have tucked his tail to run for the hills.

Thankfully--yes, thankfully--there was an explosion.

And men. A lot of men.

Not that Melik liked men. He just liked the idea of kicking ass.

Too bad Eleanor seemed to be having all the fun. The attackers paid him no attention. Literally, they glanced right over him like he was invisible.

Is this what it's like to be Fritz? As he wasn't involved with the fighting, he took a moment to ponder what it was like to be completely ignored. He, the cutest man of all time, was being ignored because some--

His orange eyes danced toward her form. What was she, sludge? Her body sure moved like sludge. Or maybe it was oil?

Oh! What was that villain in the one movie with the bat. He tapped his jaw a few times. Although not of Earth, Melik spent quite a bit of time watching Earth-made movies. Unlike some of the alien species out in the galaxy, Earth had talent. The graphics were top notch. The sound was exquisite!

Ferngully! That was the name of it. She was like... Slax? No, Hexxus. That was his name. That weird, smoke-sludge thing.

He wanted to wince but he had seen worse. Anastasia's retractile blades being one of them. He had also seen Arvin secrete an excessive amount of toxic waste before that it coated his body with a slimy, horrific acid. He literally dripped and oozed. To make it better, everything he touched caused those radiation detectors to light up like a Christmas tree.

Eleanor, his eyes scanned over her once more, well she didn't look like she was radioactive. He didn't sense any bio-hazards either. So whatever she was, it wasn't about to cause him to die a painful death. Or rather, at least it won't cause his special organ to turn to goo. Turning to goo was bad as that lead to death.

When her form hardened, Melik rolled his eyes. Yeah, he could do that too. He really didn't see why she thought she was so special.

Then he remembered, she was a human--or whatever they called themselves these days. They had no idea that alien races lay behind their planet. Had they even made it to their moon yet? Likely, but that was probably it.

Without a doubt, he knew he had seen way more than this Eleanor had. Wouldn't it be funny when her whole world comes crashing down? When she learns that she's not a freak? And that there are bigger, stronger, scarier alien species out there?

Holding back a yawn, Melik's eyes spied what looked like a pair of discarded clothes. Don't mind if I do, he told himself while walking away. Dipping behind some crates, he peeled off his prison-like uniform and donned himself in something more suitable--a part of vibrant red pants (likely women's based on the rhinestones embedded on the pockets) and a fishnet shirt with a black crop-top shirt on top of that. He found a lonely red leather glove and put that on his left hand. Not too far from where he found the clothing, he saw a rack with a few more odds and ends. If this crew thought them trash, why he would have to give them a lecture.

Inching over to it--still unnoticed mind you--he rolled the black fedora with the red strip up his sleeve and onto his head.

"Booya," he purred. He was finally ready to make his entrance.

Grabbing the lithe black cane that was so neatly propped against the wall, he tipped his hat down and slowly walked into view. Eleanor still held most of the attention and that was fine.

Skidding over a few boxes, he took a seat right beside the woman's strange form.

"So," he flicked his hat back with the tip of his pinkie, "if these aren't our guests, why are we taking so long to push them out?"

Rolling backwards onto the crate, he hoisted his body up so it balanced on his arms. Then, a second later, he flipped down to his toes so they could dance on the cool surface below.

"Well now," he leaned to the side so his left leg was outstretched. Placing his pinkie to the corner of his lip, he giggled much like a child would. "Shall we play?"

Perhaps their biggest mistake was paying attention to him. Or even to her. While their eyes were forward, Melik's hidden hand was twirling behind his back. Unknown to the enemy, a small dusting of golden color dots began to huddle together. Little by little, those brown, gold, and white dots started to form the gentle sandy beach that often came before the azure oceans.

"No, before you lose this game, I'll ask you nicely to please leave. Refuse? I'll have no choice to crush you." A dark shadow crossed his face. "Literally."

Sure enough, the attackers rolled their eyes and jeered. Who would honestly take a flamboyantly dressed punk seriously? Not to mention, Eleanor was far more foreboding.

"Very well," he flicked his head to the side while snapping the hand behind his back forward.

"May the sandman grace your parting dreams."

Palm exposed, he waited for the click of a trigger before it closed into a fist. The second it did, his devious grin grew and a darkness swelled within those fiery orbs.

The sound of muffled explosions followed. Seconds later, came the grotesque cries of men being blown apart by their own attacks.

Before Eleanor and Melik levitated a large, sandy orb. It had completely swallowed their pursuers whole--or at least the first wave. With their bodies entrapped in a sphere of sand, their attacks ricocheted, firing and then consuming them. Aside from the nearly muted sounded of explosions and the dull screaming.

The sphere before them pulsed and then, as Melik opened his palm and turned it toward the ground, the ball shattered into tiny particles of sand. The wind quickly sweeping them away, removing all the evidence that someone other than Eleanor killed them. Hell, there weren't even bodies to be seen for they were pulverized into dust, ash, and sand.

"Shall we catch up with the others? Or have we another wave approaching?"

Rubbing his palms together, he patted them neatly on the red pants. "Afraid I won't be as much use this time. My sands have been swept away with the wind. I have a small bit I can use but I can't decimate a squad of that size with the blink of an eye the next go around."

Eleanor couldn't take the time to glance at the male as he spoke beside her; but the fact that he seemed to be taking this all lightly ticked her off. At least he was alive, though she had told him if he died, his problem, if she had lost a person when she was the one leading the fight, she would not have been pleased with herself.

The male started to take things a bit more seriously though, but fortunately the gun fire was still directed at the black menacing form. He was long winded though, taking his time to give almost a villain's monologue when they could have been working on finishing this up. Eleanor wasn't even sure how many she had taken down, but there was definitely quite a bit of flooring missing from the warehouse at this point. She wasn't sure how much damage the armor could handle so she tried to avoid the guns from the helicopters outside.

He said something about the sandman and soon the men before them were swallowed up in a ball of sand; even though it was muffled, Eleanor could still hear the screams from those inside. As efficient as the attack was, the woman was put off by the horribly cheesy joke that came with it.

Soon though, all that remained as dust that blew into the winter wind. The helicopters beyond seemed panicked and the two went to take off in a retreat. Eleanor ran towards the door, shoving her clawed hands into the ground. The blackness that covered her seemed to flow forward and into the earth below, a rumble soon following as massive black spikes shot up from the ground before her, piercing the helicopters, sending them crashing to the ground. Those spikes continued to shoot up around them, within the building, closing off the exposed way in and destroying much of the original campsite.

Standing, the woman panted as she looked at her handiwork before running towards the male, grabbing his arm and pulling her along. "They can't call for back up now at least," she said as she pulled him towards the remains of the camp. "The cops will be here soon, they won't know how to handle it so that should hopefully keep the facility at bay for some time."

She ducked into a tiny hallway, well, it was more like a gap between two walls but there was a broken vent there. "This way," she said as she slid her legs into it, her feet finding a ladder against the far wall. The vent was narrow, just as narrow as the gap, and went down some ways.

Eleanor's feet hit the top of a grate and she kicked down at it, freeing it from its rusty hinges before dropping into the sewer pipe below. The water kept to the center and was shallow, the edges were paved for the people that did maintenance on the city system.

Catching her breath, the woman waited for her counterpart to join up with her before continuing her run. "Nyx said the place, a cave, was past city limits. Take the sewer till it dumps to the ravine and, and-" Eleanor's pace slowed suddenly, her hand going to the wall to steady her. She felt cold, but could feel the sweat; the world was spinning and soon everything was going black as she started to fall.

As Eleanor took out the helicopters (honestly, Melik wasn't sure how he would have done it since he didn't have enough sand), Melik went over to some of the men Eleanor had crushed. It was time to pilfer the bodies while she finished things up.

For the most part, everything was damaged. He did manage to snag a pistol and one of those explosive weapons. Holding his head high, he flashed a grin at Eleanor. He was quite proud of himself. And, for once, she didn't give him one of those condescending glances. Had he... had he actually impressed her?

Heart all aflutter with the idea of pleasing her, he skipped along behind her. When they got to the gap in the wall, he smirked. It was a damn good thing he was a little guy. There was no way someone like Arvin or Varun would fit. They were boarder. Nieko and Rroy? Maybe, they seemed the most capable. And poor Fritz? Oi, he would not enjoy banging his head on all these low ceilings.

As they moved down the ladder, Melik saw Eleanor sway. He wasn't sure why she did that so he shifted down another rung.

Frankly, he was glad he did for the next thing he knew, she was blacking out. His hand flew down to grab her wrists. Wincing, he could only imagine how it felt to be dangling by one's wrists.

Wrists. He shuddered. It just had to be wrists.

Mentally, he told himself he would be fine. I'm not going to barf on the pretty lady, he kept telling himself.

Finally, at the end of the ladder, he hopped on to the cool cement. The climb down, he had looped her over his back. Now that he wasn't climbing, he could carry her bridal-style in his arms until she woke up.

"Take the sewer until it dumps into the ravine."
That part was easy but now that he was at the end, he didn't know where to go. "And." He shot an annoyed scowl at the woman. "You know how unhelpful the word and is. And what? And go straight for two miles? And swing an immediate left? And, and, and," he huffed.

Deciding it would be wise to duck out of sight, just in case, he moved into the brush off to the side of the drainage system. There, he gingerly placed Eleanor on the grass before calmly looking for berries or herbs.

"Ah ha," he said with a grin. Diving into a bush, he managed to find a medicinal herb that would help her regain her strength. He also found some sweet berries to go with it for the herb was very tart.

Crushing it into a fine powder, he mashed the berries into the herb. Then, he pried her mouth open to rub the jelly-like texture on the inside of her lips.

"And, and, and," he snorted. "I'll need more than and."

While he waited for her to stir, he decided to converse with himself a bit. "Also, an--oh wow, Melik, you're my hero would be nice. Or if I can't get that, how about, wow, I was so wrong to doubt you. Hell, I'll even take a thank you for helping. But no," he wrinkled his nose at her, "I get the word and. BECAUSE THAT'S HELPFUL AS HELL!" With a moan, he popped down beside her, lightly massaging her temples while he waited.

"And, and, and...."

"Nyx, please stop pacing, you're making everyone nervous," Sabine scolded the woman from the back of the cave. Since they had gotten there, the white haired woman had just been pacing back and forth at the cave's mouth.

The water woman waved a dismissive hand towards the other as she said, "They've been gone for too long. They should be back by now." She had one hand wrapped around her bare stomach, the elbow of her other arm propped on it as she worriedly bit at one of her fingers.

A third voice spoke up, echoing slightly at first as she said, "Everyone's getting camp set up. Other than our newest members, everyone seems to be doing just fine." Behind Noah was just darkness, but if one traveled through the winding tunnels for a few minutes, a dull fire was going and people were tossing blankets on the ground. The stronger ones managed to snag a couple cots and a few sleeping bags were saved, but nowhere near as many as they had before.

Sabine's sharp eyes fell to the other woman as she said, "Good, now take care of that thing." Noah looked from the blonde to Nyx and tilted her head to the side. "Couldn't you just sing to calm her down?" The woman scoffed at the thought saying, "I wouldn't waste my breath on such needless worrying."

That remark brought a glare to Nyx's face as those blue eyes locked on the other woman. "It is not needless! What if they don't come back?! Those two stayed, sacrificing themselves so that we could get away!"

The blonde side, shaking her head and massaging her temples. "Then why don't you go, take a few people, and look for them, hmm?" She then added under her breath so the others wouldn't hear, "They could've just gotten lost from your shoddy directions."

"Fine, I will," Nyx retorted as she passed the other two women and into the depths of the cave. Moments later she emerged with Lydia and Reggie; one to help carry and one to heal, if they needed it. "We'll be back with Eleanor and Melik." The water woman then ventured out into the darkness; snow had started to fall as they were making their way towards the cave originally. If they were lucky, the worst of it would wait until they were back again.

Nyx didn't cover herself like the others, with what limited outerwear they had. The cold never seemed to bother her, though it could have been due to the fact that they were having a very damp winter and the sheer amount of power that kept her with was enough to sustain her warmth.

The three walked for sometime, at least 20 minutes at that point and that was when Reggie decided to speak up. "Shouldn't we have found 'em already?" But Nyx shook her head saying, "I don't think they made it this far. We have to get to the sewer system first."

Then again the group traveled in silence. Nyx led them towards a steep hill, one with a narrow walk way that then fell for who know how long for in the moonless night sky, it was pitch black.

Picking up the pace, the water woman started running; they must have been close. She quickly rounded the corner and was about to start yelling for the two when she nearly collided with Melik, whom was watching over Eleanor.

"Oh, thank goodness," the woman breathed in relief as she wrapped her arms around the red head. As she pulled away, her eyes fell upon the brunette and she fell to her knees beside Lydia. "What happened to her Melik?! Is she ok?"

Lydia replied first, reassuring the woman. "Nyx, she's ok, she's just sleeping."

Nyx's blue orbs then fell upon the male again. "What happened up there?"

His hands continued to run his hands through her hair. From time to time, he would take small strands of her hair and try to braid it, but he wasn't nearly as good as Rroy, Nieko, or Fritz when it came to these things.

He was pulled from his petting when he hard footsteps approaching. Scowl on his face, he leaned into Eleanor. "Fear not, boss lady, I will protect you." A quick, dry peck was planted on her nose before he returned her body to the grass.

Rising, he positioned himself behind a tree. This was the best spot to jump someone. Not to mention, it wasn't too far from the stream that had sandy banks.

Slowly, he twirled his hand and the sand began to snake his way. It was subtle and someone most would miss.

With the footsteps growing closer, he slammed his fist shut. The sand immediately shifted together to form a katana. Pressing it to his body, he awaited the perfect time to po--

"Eh?!" He fumbled backwards when Nixie's face got close enough to kiss him. As they were the same height, their lips were literally aligned with one another.

Blush growing on his face, he shuffled back before sheepishly ranking a hand through his red hair.

"Glad I hesitated," he mentioned. At the raising of brows, he revealed the sand-colored katana. "I was," his eyes jerked to Eleanor, "ready to defend her."

Slinging the katana through the belt around his hips, he turned to Eleanor. "I gave her some herbs and berries. She felt feverish." He pouted. "I think she over exerted herself. I should have stepped in sooner. Instead, I took the lazy approach." He grit his teeth. "When you told me she was the first, I thought that meant she had honed her attacks. Looks like she hasn't."

Taking a seat beside Eleanor, he put a hand back on the woman's brown hair. "She put up a good fight though. She did great. They were so distracted by her that it gave me a chance to take down the rest." He wasn't sure if the others knew about her powers so he purposely left out the details. "We then escaped. As we started climbing down the stairs, she got dizzy. Nearly fell off the ladder. I didn't let that happen though. I carried her down on my back and then held her in my arms until I got here."

There was a faint smile on his face. "She didn't have a chance to tell me the directions so I figured it was best to wait here. I hoped someone would come looking for us." He looked up to glance at Lydia and Reggie. Then to Nyx. "I'm glad you did." He knew it was likely her idea. She had that maternal feel to her.

Rolling his eyes away, he rubbed his arm while purposely avoiding Nyx's gaze.

"I, uh, also haven't been entirely truthful with you. That number I shared? That's my number but I was put through a ton of rigorous tests. As you know, men don't adapt well to the treatments. When they saw I hadn't died, they pushed for harsher testing. I," he bit his lip, "I got pretty good at controlling my powers."

For a moment he was quiet. "So please don't look down at me. Just because I'm one of the newer ones doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. As I implied to Nixie, I'm familiar with killing. I was a soldier. I had many missions that tested my resolution. I'm... I'm tougher than I look."

Rolling onto his toes, he glanced back down to Eleanor. Bending, he drew her small form back into his arms. "Well, we should probably think about getting her to that cave. Don't need her catching a cold."

Reggie watched the boy closely as they approached; from his reactions, at least they didn't have to worry about just anyone sneaking up. Then again, hesitating could be bad for their kind, especially when it came to the people that were looking for them. Defending was good though, so he wouldn't discredit the boy too much. The large male crossed his arms over his chest as he watch the woman manage the situation.

Lydia nodded as she rested a hand against Eleanor's forehead; she was definitely warm, but they weren't supposed to get sick which made his idea of her over exerting herself a much more likely cause. A glow started to form around the woman's hand, an attempt to heal anything that they may have missed. She dismissed the male scorning himself as she said, "Eleanor, unlike the rest of us chooses to keep her powers a secret. No one knows why and no one knows what she can and can't do.

"Being like the rest of us, you were unaware of her skill extent so you shouldn't beat yourself up too hard." The blonde woman then looked over at the male as she neatly folded her hands on her lap. "In contrast, she was very fortunate that you were there to assist her. If you had not been, we may not be having the chance to even see her in such a state."

A small smirk formed on Nyx's face as she said, "Well, it's not like we were going to let you guys wander around in the cold for long." It was then that Lydia pulled a jacket from her lap, offering it to the male; a bashful look of having forgotten on her face. She then took another and lay it over Eleanor for now, letting her rest peacefully for a few more moments.

It was Melik's 'confession' that brought a deep rumbling chuckle from the glistening man. He walked over to him, planting a hand on the top of his red head as he said, "No one's going to think any differently of you. My skin didn't come out this way just because they wanted me to look pretty." Though, to say he wasn't attractive would have been incorrect too; he was definitely built, tanned skin, sharp, dark eyes and black hair, he seemed to be of a more islander dissent; definitely not local and more exotic looking. Reggie then pulled his hand away, formed a fist and then knocked on his own chest; it was a dull sound, like someone hitting a concrete wall with a bat.

The amused look fell from his face as he said, "We don't look at anyone different based simply on their number. We all went through hell and that's that. Some of the newer ones have better control over their powers than others do. Who knows how that managed to happen, but it did. We're here to help each other live and grow as what we have become, not judge each other over something we had little control over."

Lydia stood back up, stretching slightly as she said, "Your background may assist us then. With Eleanor down for now, we will need help in keeping everyone safe. She handled much of that by herself." The woman then looked to the diamond bodied male who seemed to move on unspoken orders to pick the brunette up, moving the jacket around her to close it as best as he could. "The first thing we need to do," she then continued. "Is get back to base. You two being alive will definitely be a boost in moral."

With that, Lydia and Reggie made their way back into the growing snow storm outside. Nyx stayed back near Melik, keeping some distance between the other two.

"What was it like?" Nyx asked him, her words nearly lost among the cold wind, her bright blue eyes locked on the male. "Eleanor's powers? You did see them, right?!"

Melik smirked at the comments being made. If only they knew that they weren't that different. Sure, Reggie's look was odd but there were people made of stone that existed. Heck, there were lizard people too! And those--he shuddered--tentacle people. He felt his face turn pale. He really didn't want to think about them. Or how one tried to flirt with Rroy....

Shaking his head, he watched as Reggie stole Eleanor for his arms. Usually, he would protest but he was feeling a bit worn down. He did get stuck carrying her down a ladder and out of the sewers to this very location. Not carrying her, he supposed, would be nice.

"Yeah," he added a firm nod. "I'll help in whatever way necessary." Of course, that comment seemed to fall to deaf ears for the next thing he knew, Nyx was asking about Eleanor's powers.

"Ha," a devious look crawled on his boyish face. "Like I'll tell you without some form of reward." If he were Arvin or Varun, he would demand a kiss. This was Melik. Although a cheeky flirt, he wasn't all about those sweet lips. He would much rather--

"I will take warm milk and cookies as a bribe." He poked his tongue out at her. "But," the cheery expression faded, "I really don't think it's my place to speak about her. If she hasn't told you, I'm sure she has her reasons."

His mind raced back to the time where Rroy conveniently left out he could control darkness--that he had become an enlightened Valsozn. They should have assumed something was different but why would they? They didn't know enlightenment was a legitimate thing as so few ever reached it.

If Eleanor was like Rroy, she was holding back that card for a reason. Likely to surprise any traitors in the mix. Not to mention, not sharing one's powers meant it was hard to come up with a weakness or vulnerability.

Sensing her disdain, Melik gave Nixie a good pat on the shoulder. "It's definitely interesting though. We're lucky to have her on our side."

The more he thought about them, the more he realized they were a combination of Rroy, Aleu's, and Arvin's powers. Rroy could make ice spikes erupt from the ground. Aleu could call darkness around her to ask as a shield. And Arvin's powers... well, they looked more like the sludge Eleanor seemed to mimic. What other powers did she have? He was eager to learn more but didn't want to wish another battle on the brunette. She was far too weak to fight again.

"Did everyone make it to the safe house?" He needed to know the casualty report. "And what about the supplies? Have we enough? Or should we send out a small gathering party?"

Nyx puffed out a lip as Melik denied her any information on Eleanor's powers; it wasn't fair, she had been with her the longest and yet one of the newest people to their group got to see them first! When the male mentioned wanting a type of 'bribe' to tell her, the woman's lips shifted to the side as she continued on beside him in silence for a few moments. As the snow seemed to create a deafening silence she said, "No cookies or milk sadly."

Her blue eyes shifted the the male as she said, "Fleeing as we had to, we weren't able to grab a whole lot. Obviously when it came to cookies or fruit, fruit won out." The blonde then weaved her fingers behind her head as she thought about what he said. "It's true thoug, Eleanor would have told us by now if she wanted. It's not like she really does things for no reason." Out of all of us, she's probably the best survivor, the woman then thought to herself.

At that point, Nyx's mind began to wander. It was upsetting to not know what the woman could do and if it could lead to her being in that state? Well, not knowing seemed more dangerous that to actually know. When Melik put a hand on her shoulder, she jumped, her eyes locking on the male's form quickly.

His comment brought a goofy grin to the woman's face and she said, "Oh, I know that! Without Eleanor, who knows how many of us would still be alive, or even free for that matter." A look came to her face, almost like thinking was causing the woman some discomfort. "Well, mostly free. We'll get to totally free at some point." She then nodded, truly believing those words herself.

Lydia tilted her head, allowing her to be able to glance back at Melik as he asked his next questions. Eyes returning forward she nodded saying, "You and Eleanor were able to provide more than enough of a distraction for us to get everyone out. Sadly, with the little warning many of our supplies had to be left behind, but the first of the hunting parties has already gone out."

Almost as if on queue, a howl echoed through the trees around them, though it wasn't fully wolf-like, it was deeper and more gutteral, yet had a more whimsical, lullaby sound to it. People wouldn't think anything of it though, why would they when all they knew was the local wildlife?

The blonde woman leading looked off into the darkness as she said, "And it looks like they know we're here." Her gaze then returning forward she continued, "LeAnn and the others are on first hunt it seems, the others will know we're coming back."

As a dark looming form started to slowly come into view through the heavy snow fall, a smaller form running towards them could be seen. "What happened? Is everyone ok?" Noah asked as she stopped in front of Reggie, causing him to stop as she put a hand on Eleanor's forehead. Lydia simply nodded, her eyes slowly closing as she said,

"Everyone is fine. Have beds been set for Eleanor and our newcomer?" The blonde woman nodded her head quickly.

"Yes, yes, everything is set up. I made sure to move people away from the beds to they can rest in peace." Noah then turned, taking the lead to their mini caravan. "Everyone's a bit shocked though. You may have your hands full when coming in with them. Pretty sure no one thought they would live, but they did! But Eleanor, when they heard she was being carried back, people were worried."

As they approached the cave entrance, it was dark. The woman with short blonde hair and crimson eyes wasn't even visible until they neared an even darker hole towards the back of the cave mouth. The woman simply watched, not saying anything as the group entered the winding, dark tunnels.

"Fruit," he scoffed loudly. "What kind of decision is that." His lip quivered. "I'm going to have file a proper complaint. Fruit is yucky. Cookies make you grow up big and strong." At that comment, he flexed his arm as if to prove his diet of sweets and cookies had truly caused the pronounced bulge on his arm.

For the rest of the walk, he kept rather quiet. He was too busy analyzing the weather. Sure, they were in the mountains, but this drastic change in weather was unnerving. He knew that Rroy and the gang had traveled to some foreign planet to remove alien radicals (the planet didn't know aliens existed and Rroy was personally tasked with eliminating the threat to prevent a troublesome war). What were the odds that the planet he and Aleu came to was the same one that Rroy happened to visit.

His hand stroked his chin momentarily. Rroy didn't believe in consciences. Was it possible that Rroy purposely accepted this benign mission because he knew Aleu would be here too. It was odd how he always seemed to find her, even when she went out of her way to hide her tracks.

With a firm nod, he came to his conclusion. Rroy was a stalker.

Orange gaze looking toward the sky, he noted that the clouds were no longer visible. The wind was howling as the snow pelted him like a thousand bullets. Things were getting unbearably worse.

Rroy. His face contorted. If this is your doing, I am infinitely sorry I could not protect your fiancee. His shoulders sagged as he exhaled.

He was ready to open his mouth to question the weather when they finally arrived at the cave. It was dark but unlike the snowstorm, it was dry.

Shaking off the flakes that clung to his garments, he moved deeper in. The eerie, high-pitched howl from the mouth of the cave sent a shudder down his spine.

"You know," he paused to face the entrance, "I can fix that." Stepping backwards, he clenched his jaw. All his muscles became taut as he dripped into lunge-like stance.

Eyes closing, his lips moved but no words came out. A second later, his orange orbs flickered open and the floor of the cave seemed to shift. Like a gentle wave, it rolled to the entrance. It almost sounded like the ocean, the way the sand shifted across itself. And as the snow reflected its white light onto it, the dirt seemed to shimmer and shine.

Dragging his back foot to meet his front, his hands started to press away from one another, as if he were locked inside an invisible box. With each slow push of his hands, the sandy material started to crawl up the edges of the entrance until it was completely sealed off. Then, with a quick hop back, his palms collided. A dull, dry clap followed.

Beads of sweat cascaded from his brows. With a light pant, he shifted his gaze toward the rescue party.

"Tap it twice and the particles will separate to allow you to exit. Tap it twice more to seal it again. This," his brows fell, "ought to keep us warmer." Parched, he swept the back of his hand over his forehead. "It'll also keep unwanted attention out," he spoke hoarsely.

His stepping faltered. He had exerted himself more today than he had in the past three years. Catching his footing, he sturdied himself with a wall. "A bed sounds nice," his words fell breathlessly from his mouth.

When the cold words rolled off Fritz' tongue, Arvin's face fell. His brows knit together as tears started to fill his blinding green orbs. "How," he choked out. His breath was ragged and from the look on his face, he looked like he was suffering from indigestion.

Nieko, much like Arvin, found himself whimpering. His shoulders drooped and his heart beat became loud and heavy. If he were a dog, his ears would likely fold inward and his tail would instinctively dip between his legs. "But," his words quivered, "what of...." He couldn't bring himself to ask of Melik's condition.

Knowing nothing of Melik's situation, Fritz could only shrug. He then shook his head before shrugging again. He spoke not a word for he wasn't sure what more he could share. The spider relied little information so not even he knew the full story. Slowly, his eyes slid to Rroy.

Before the news had been so curtly shared, the raven he tucked his chin to his chest. Large, dark shadows veiled his eyes behind the fringe of black hair. He looked... frozen. As if the news had suddenly turned him to stone. Everything about him looked stiff.

The warmth of a hand caused Rroy to flinch. Eyes still hidden beneath his black bangs, he cast his gaze to find the source of the much-needed touch.

Varun.

The blue haired man kept his heavy hand on Rroy's shoulder for a good amount of time. With each passing second, the touch seemed to grow stronger yet softer. The news was hitting Varun just as hard as the rest but, unlike them, he tried to remain composed. Heavens knew Rroy needed strength and if they others were quick to worry their lips and leak their eyes, well, Varun would be that rock. He would be the one to keep Rroy from losing himself to the alarming news.

Flitting his lashes, Rroy forced the tears away. He had no interest in showing his friends his sorrow. They were already sad enough. To see the man they looked to cry, why it would only break them. He was supposed to be the cold-hearted demon, the one who never showed emotion. The one who never had a weakness.

A soft pitter-patter caused Arvin, Fritz, and Melik to pull their doleful gaze from Rroy's masked orbs to the freshly wet glass below.

Nieko's crestfallen expression deepened. It truly ailed him to know that Rroy was holding back his tears. The woman he loved was dead and he was fighting back a flood.

No longer concerned with the consequences, Nieko jolted forward. Arms wrapping around Rroy, the brunette burrowed his way into the male's embrace. Following suit, Arvin moved to hug the raven too. He and Rroy went a ways back and as far as Arvin was concerned, Rroy was his brother.

Fritz, usually not the type to joy in compassionate acts, was the last to move to Rroy's side. Selfishly, he took Rroy's hand into his own and pulled the Valsozn from the others. Engulfing Rroy with his lanky embrace, Fritz tucked his head toward Rroy's neck.

"I," Fritz chose his words carefully, "I take full responsibility to this. I should have went with t--"

"No," Rroy's words were weak. For the first time since learning of her death, Rroy tilted his head up. Two single streaks of water shimmered on his face when the sun finally caught him. "This isn't your fault. You had no idea what she was getting into."

Running a hand through his fringe, he pushed it aside. This forlorn gaze remained on the graying clouds above. A sudden chill clung to the air and a frost began to coat the grass and trees around them.

"I should have went with her." His lip remained pursed. "I could see in her eyes that she was worried. But I reassured her all would be fine. That she need not worry about it." A grimace interrupted him. His eyes began to water again.

Forcing them shut, he pulled his head toward the ground.

"Find those responsible." The air around them shifted. A shudder ran down their spines. The grass beneath Rroy seemed to decay and blacken.

Eyes pulling open, he tugged a small blade from his hip. Inspecting it carefully, he ran it over his tongue before his crimson gaze fell on his friends.

"Revenge shall be bittersweet." With a quick flick of his wrist, the knife flew from his hand and landed square in the chest of a man.

"I must report back to the council. I leave this to you four. When it's time, I'll join you."

Arvin cocked a brow. Rroy must have saw it for his next set of words explained everything.

"If I say here, I will destroy this planet. Aleu wouldn't be displeased. She would... detest my reckless actions. Claim that innocence shouldn't suffer for the actions of a few wronged souls." His dark glance shifted to Arvin. "I'll keep in touch. But it is truly better that I not be here."

With a blinding flash, Rroy vanished.

Uneasy, Nieko rubbed the nape of his neck. "Do we even know who we're looking for?"

"Afraid not," Fritz said with a gloomy expression. "Melik didn't divulge the details. Said I needed to trust he and Aleu." Wrapping his arms around himself, he sighed.

Varun, stepping to Fritz's side, gave the taller male a firm squeeze. "We'll find Melik. We'll set things right. Rroy's counting on us. Let's make our move."

Arvin, easily the leader now that Rroy was gone, tugged out a map of the area. "I heard an explosion over here. It was about the same time Rroy fell pale. I have a feeling these two things are related. Shall we," a demonic grin came to his face, "check things out."

"Keep a low profile," Fritz reminded them. "This planet doesn't know of aliens. I heard rumors that they were creating superhuman experiments. I'm not sure how they fit into the grand scheme of things--friend or foe. So it's best if we try to act human."

"So," Nieko turned to Arvin, "what are our orders, boss?"

His lips curled into a grin. "We move toward the explosion. Fritz, you go on ahead. Let the wind carry you. Scout things out. If it's a dead end, there's no point in us all going there."

With a solid nod, Fritz rose a single finger to his lips before casually closing his eyes. Bit by bit, his body vanished until he was no longer there.

"The rest of us need to find higher ground and setup camp. We're likely going to be alone, unless Rroy sends reinforcements. Let's assume he will, but not right off the bat. We'll need to get our own encampment ready. Once things are ready, Nieko will rendezvous with Fritz. Varun, you'll stay back with me. When the troops arrive, we'll start marching on Nieko and Fritz' location."

He couldn't control his wide grin. "Sounds like fun," Varun snorted. "I look forward to leading an army. It'll be just like the good old days."

"Ha," Nieko's abrupt cackle caused the other two to behold him. "The good old days? You mean the days before Aleu? Not sure I would call them good. Rroy was... darker. Personally, I like the softer Rroy."

"Valid point," Varun reevaluated his comment. "I do prefer this Rroy. But, with Aleu out of the picture, we can't have him getting all soft. We need a sullied murderer. That criminal from years since past."

"We need... revenge."

The group paused when Melik said he could fix the howling wind the hit the mouth of the tunnel, well, the girls did, Reggie continued onward with Eleanor. Lydia's mouth elongated slightly as she nodded her head, impressed at the total darkness that surrounded them now. "That will come in handy," she said, her voice dry as always.

Nyx, in her usual manner went bumbling through the dark until her hands stumbled upon the wall that had formed and soon, she could feel it moving from the other side and it was fading away.

As the sand wall pulled away, a very irritated blonde woman stood there, her fist raised from hitting it. "What the hell," she hissed at the white haired woman.

Nyx stood up, a cheerful smile on her face as she said, "Melik made it to keep us safe!"

Sabine clearly didn't look impressed as she said, "Did he now? Well, how 'bout you go scope out the area to see just what he's protecting us from, hmmm?" The woman then passed the white haired one, pushing her outside as she then went by the others and into the darkness of the tunnel.

"Two taps and you're in," Nyx said in a sing-song voice, her German-style accent clinging heavily to the words. Twirling around, she saluted the other two as she tapped the sand dusting on the side, the wall rebuilding itself.

A set of footsteps echoing on the cave walls could be heard all around them and soon, a glow started to break through the tunnel. "You guys are taking too long," Noah chided, sticking her tongue out at them. A large smile blossomed on her face, the tips of her hair a bright pink as she approached the two. "Everyone wants to see the boy the helped save everyone, not to mention the one that saved Eleanor."

With that Noah grabbed his hand, pulling him along through the tunnel. She could feel that his movements were sluggish and in what seemed to be a practiced move, she managed to get herself under his arm, to help prop him up a bit. Looking at the male, she gave him a warm smile as she said, "You saved far more than you probably think. You're a hero to us all."

The further they moved through the tunnel, the warmer it got and soon, light pooled all around them as they entered a large, cavernous room. People started clapping, the noise not echoing, thankfully due to the number of people as well as some of the items they were able to bring with them. There were a few men that were positioned to keep people back if they tried to rush the male; between Reggie and Noah, they had been quite firm on telling people to give them space and time to rest.

Fortunately, no one had to be pulled back, they all kept their distance, though the look of happiness and relief in their eyes spoke volumes.

Noah led the male to a quieter section of the the cavern, it branched off front he main room in another tunnel. There were a couple of cots set up, Eleanor sleeping on one.

"We hand everyone ship out for now, let you guys get your rest," Reggie said from behind them as his large form blocked the tunnel. "Everyone's used to sleeping around the main fire anyway, so they weren't upset about waiting for their new sleeping area."

Leading him over to the open cot, Noah helped Melik sit down. "Get some rest, we're not going anywhere, anytime soon." There was a soft smile on her face as she stepped back, her and Reggie leaving the room. There was a small fire burning in the middle, nowhere near as large as the one in the main room, but it kept that room warm.

Skipping through the snow, Nyx hummed as the frozen water pelted her skin and seemed to vanish. Her body took the moisture and absorbed it, keeping her higher need for water quenched as she tromped through the snow. It was probably because of that, that the snow didn't bother her. The liquid she absorbed quickly heated to body temperature which helped to keep her warm, but even she wasn't completely immune to the frigid weather. It also could have been due to the fact that it was early spring and things were warming up and melting, even with the blizzard, rather than freezing again.

"Getting some water, getting some water," she sung to herself, running her hands along branches and rocks. The snow, like what was falling and the immediate stuff that touched her feet and legs, seemed to neatly vanish without a trace of ever having been there.

Turning around, she saw that her foot prints were filling up quickly as well; which was good. She wouldn't have the same problem going back, fortunately, since she would be hydrated, but for now, her trail had to be masked.

A little further out, the woman found a large rock. Climbing up onto it, she took a seat, crossing her arms. Her brows knit together as the cold bit at her through her clothing, but soon she relaxed. Leaning down, she scooped up a handful of snow from in front of her and hold it, it began to melt. The water didn't drip through her fingers, nor absorb into her skin, it just sat in a neat little pool.

Pulling her hands away from it, the water floated before her. A smile on her face, she brought it close, where she nuzzled it saying, "We have work to do little friend." Pushing her hands out, the water orb floated away, flattening like a pancake and lowering towards the snow below.

The orb seemed to steam slightly and that caused the snow around it to quickly begin melting. As it melted, the new water soon joined the orb. Soon, it looked like ribbons of water danced about the air, melting snow here and there, careful to not take too much at a time.

Nyx, sitting on her rock, was like the conductor of the show. She would move her arms in various fluid movements, different parts of the water responding accordingly. As she did so, a smile was on her face as she hummed to the movement of the water.

Unnoticed, he crept into the charred remains of the facility. From the look of things, it seemed this was the source of the explosion Arvin heard.

Dragging his hands in the black ash, he raised them to his nose. A quick sniff confirmed his beliefs. Without uttering a word, his eyes scanned over the littered bodies. There were men in red suits or white jackets. Guards? He presumed the red coats were the guards. The white jackets belonged to the scientists and medical personnel. But there were still others. Weathered, torn jumpsuits with embossed numbers and letters.

Prisoners.

Brows knitting together, he turned his nose to the wind. Nostrils flailing, he picked up a familiar scent.

"Melik!"

His body phased from existence only to reappear further down the hall from where he originally entered. Eyes scanning the cell before him, he made mental note of the etching in the wall. The number of lines correlated with the number of days Melik had been away.

Stepping from the cell, his grizzled eyes found little flecks of sand still caught on the cast iron bars.

"Definitely Melik," there was a warmth to his breath. "Looks like he escaped." Knowing this caused him to ease up some. He no longer needed to hunt for a body... well, at least not here.

"Hey," a voice called from his backside. "This are--"

Fritz twisted his head back to see who addressed him. It was someone clad in a suit. To his left was a man in red and to his right a... a woman in shackles? She was hardly dressed and seemed... crazed?

"Janora," his eyes slipped to the woman, "do us proud. Kill him. We can't have any outsiders investigating this private matter."

The guard in red snorted but didn't seem too phased by the order given. This caused Fritz to hike up a brow. Why would he pick the near-nude woman over a trained assassin? Fritz's mind recalled learning about an employer who sought highly lethal individuals to apply for an Elite Red Guard position.

"Leave," the words slipped from Fritz's pursed lips. "I have no desire to fight you."

Janora cracked a wicked grin. "Sorry," she hissed, "but we cannot have a spy like you leaking information. You likely work for the IBI."

IBI. Fritz had heard those letters before. Intergalactic Bureau of Investigation. His eyes remained locked on his opponents while his mind tried to discern why he knew this....

"Fritz," her playful shove caused a blush to grow on his face. "You need not worry about me. I'm an IBI agent. I can handle myself. Look," her hand pointed over at Rroy. "Not even Rroy is worried about me." Her hand landed gently on the flesh above his heart. "But," a quick peck met his cheek, "I am glad to know you are worried."

A larger wrinkle formed between his brows. If they were worried about him being IBI, then that likely meant they were an enemy to the IBI--to Aleu. Could these three be behind her untimely death? No, his frown deepened. They were likely just pawns in a much larger game. But, if he played his cards right, he cou--

His eyes jumped forward. The woman, Janora, was advancing.

"Very well," he said in a dry, monotone voice.

As her clawed hand swung at him, Fritz jumped backward. They danced this dance a few more times before Fritz swept his hand behind his back. When the hand reappeared, a stout cylinder could be found in his grasp.

Janora cackled. "What the hell is that supposed to be," her purr echoed down the crumbling hallway.

Not wanting to leave the lady's question unanswered, he thrust his arm forward. The action caused the hollow cylindrical tube to grow and grow. Soon, it stretched about 7-feet long, still retaining its 2-inch width.

"A... pole?"
Janora snorted with delight. "Oh hunny, that won't save you." Her tongue lapped across her hand. "Afraid this kitten likes balls of yarn."

Fritz didn't even bother to express his disdain. Twirling the pole, he placed it gently behind his neck. "I ask you again, leave or I will have no choice."

When they didn't take the hint, Fritz sighed. "Fine."

Janora flew forward. Claws against metal caused a sickening sound to fill the air. Her hiss followed and she noted that scratching the pole was not a smart plan. Focusing her attacks on the flesh, she flew at him again.

Like the time before, Fritz's pole swung between he and the woman. It always came out of nowhere and it was beginning to piss Janora off. "Oi," her feral eyes flew to the assassin, "why don't you stop standing their and help me." The Elite Guard nodded before pulling out a...

Whip.

His face became void of emotion. This was literally the kinkiest fight he had ever found himself in.

The guard and Janora had worked together, Fritz could see this plain as day. It meant he would actually have to do some work. With an annoyed sigh, he focused his attacks on Janora. Swing after swing, he kept the cat-woman at bay. This, of course, left the guard open to grab him. And grab him the guard did do.

As the whip latched itself around his left wrist, Fritz sent the male a cold, harsh gaze. Then, as if the pain didn't phase him, a smile crawled onto his face.

The guard had no time to react for next thing he knew, a gust of wind ripped him down the hallway and into a protruding foundation piece. He was out of play so that left the woman and the man in the suit. With his gaze on Janora, he literally pulled the air from her lungs. As she pleaded for mercy with her eyes, Fritz left no room for forgiveness.

As Janora fell limp, Fritz's teal orbs landed on the only one left.

"An escaped experiment. Gray hair. Green eyes. Force pow--"

That was all he got out before Fritz vanished before his eyes. The suited man trembled. How... how did he...

"Behind you," Fritz cooed while slipping a blade across the man's throat. When the body fell limp against the ground, Fritz curb-stopped the communication device before arrogantly snorting. "And it's wind."

Flicking his chin-length fringe from his face, he dropped to search their bodies for clues. Sure enough, he found something. A map. A location. It was... upon the hill.

Eyes closing, a wind rushed into the tunnels below the earth. Seconds later, he vanished.

"A helicopter?" His brow curved upward. There were a few bodies scattered here and there but nothing really explained what had happened. That was until he saw the fading remains of sand.

"Melik,"
his words were robotic. Rushing to the fleeting flecks of sand, he dug his hand into the snow. Gingerly, he pulled his thumb over the leftover remains. "Where are you?"

Head turning to face the storm, he furrowed his brows. "Rroy," he spoke as if the man was beside him, "I will make things right." Clenching his fist around the snow and sand, he grit his teeth. "I promise."

It didn't take him long to figure out which direction Melik went. There were little breadcrumbs that led him to the ravine where the sewers dumped. However, the trail went cold after that. Didn't help that the weather had gotten worse, much worse. Finding golden sand in a sea of white was hardly easy. Still, the cold didn't bother him. He was far too used to Rroy's antics to let the cold get the best of him. He had a mission to complete and a promise he had to fulfill. It certainly helped that the worst part was already over, or so he hoped. Tight, small places weren't ideal for the 6-6" male. The number of times he nearly hit his head while working in those small crawl spaces was more times than he wanted to count. And let's not forget the godawful smell. Unlike Melik, Fritz's nose was as keen as that of a dogs. He could most certainly smell the fecal scent left behind.

Rolling back his shoulders, he stiffly scoped out the area. If he were Melik, he would seek out shelter from the storm. To his left was a lush forest. It would be the perfect shield to keep the cold at bay. It would also give him cover and unsure of who the enemy was, cover made sense.

His long legs waded through the snow as if it was nothing. In no time, he was in the thick of the woods looking for any signs of a struggle or movement. However, nothing stood out. Not even remotely. Finding the adorable redhead would be much harder than he thought. It was time he rely on his old-fashioned technique.

With a long, calculated exhale, Fritz plopped himself down in the snow. As his rump made contact with the ground, clouds of snow fluttered around him. Most would call him crazy for sitting square in the snow, but Fritz had more pressing matters to worry about. A wet ass was hardly worth it.

Eyes closing, he bowed his head while pressing his palms together in front of his chest. His pinkie, ring, and middle fingers folded over one another. Next came the thumbs. Index fingers tucked beneath his nose, he inhaled lightly. Some meditation might help him focus.

Silence surrounded him. He had lost himself in it and slowly, bit by bit, the wind began to speak to him. It bounced off trees and carried the soft falling of the snow from the sky. It told him there were some deer to the far right. And atop the mountain, a search party came to see the fairs of the war they attempted to wage. Then, out in one direction, came the faintest of sounds. A women's voice.

Eyes opening immediately, he hastened forward to the point where his body literally vanished. His long strides and quick footing soon brought him to a woman seated neatly on a rock. Her actions were suspicious so he stayed at bay. Much like Rroy, he had learned how to become a stalker. His eyes watched her every movement and in no time, he had learned that she could control water. She seemed to be collecting it? That meant that others were nearby and likely part of her crew. But, based on the lack of movement around her, this one was alone.

Likely an experiment, he presumed. But did that make her a friend or a foe? Was the IBI trying to protect or eradicate her kind?

Stepping out from behind the trees that veiled him, he stood still. His arms were neatly as his side and a stoic look on his face. The cold breeze caught his hair and tussled it, every now and again creating large shadows across his face, completely masking his cyan stare.

Would she notice his presence? Or would she go about her business, completely blind to the fact that I man with fatal tendencies was about 12-feet from her.

As the water danced around, Nyx turned around to make sure everything seemed to be flowing properly. A smile grew on her face as she chuckled at the pun. At this rate, they were going to have plenty of water. Nearly completing her task, the woman drew her eyes forward, glancing at the snow then up above the dancing water. Her eyes locked on a figure that was partly hidden within the shadows.

A fear hit within her chest causing her to throw her arms back with a gasp; the momentum causing her to fall backward off the rock and into the snow. All around the water she had been collecting went splashing to the ground. Though the shock and fear had hit her system, that sound drew it all away.

With wide blue eyes, the woman jumped back up. "No, no, nononono," she muttered to herself, her fingers weaved into her hair as she looked at the melted snow around her. "This is bad, I'm going to be gone longer than they thought."

Her eyes then fell to the figure before her, he had moved a little closer than when she last saw him, or so it had seemed, she wasn't quite sure how close he was to begin with. "Listen," she said holding her hands up in front of her, taking a couple steps back. "I, I don't want any trouble," she said as she looked behind her to see what sort of obstacles lie in her way in case she needed to run.

"The, uh, moon," she said, her eyes falling back to the male, her accent and tone hitting the word 'moon' hard. The word seemed to throw the woman off and the confusion of word selection showed up on her face. "Yeah, the moon, it makes the snow look magical out here. It's, uh, my favorite spot out here.

"You're more than welcome to take this spot. So, um, I'll just be goin', ok?" The man wasn't dressed in a way that they were used to people from the facility being dressed, but Nyx wasn't sure. She couldn't hear the hunting parties either; though she usually couldn't as silence was their expertise, unlike hers. If this guy didn't buy her lame excuse of disguising her powers then she would either have to stall him so she could get away or the experiments would have their first prisoner. Or she would end up dead; the woman shook her head, that was not a good thought to be having.

"The moon weeps tonight for one of her wolves has ascended to the stars beside her. The air is still with their sorrow for a great leader has been lost. One can only hope that her kindness will not be tainted by her loss. Her gestures undone by misery would be most unfortunate." As he spoke, an accent similar to Nixie's could be heard.

Placing a hand on his chest, Fritz's turned his doleful eyes to the moon high in the sky. "His fury no longer rains upon us." A troublesome look flickered in his distant orbs. "I can only hope this means he's set his mind on other priorities and will truly leave the mission to us."

Although Nixie had no idea what he was referring to, Fritz was noting that the snow had stopped. Rroy had finally moved far enough off planet that his icy rage couldn't interfere with the atmosphere anymore.

Pulling his eyes from the moon's glow, he found himself holding Nyx in his gaze.

She was... peculiar. He had startled her and she had lost her stance on the rock. In merger attempts, she tried to distance the space between them but the world around her prevented it. To truly distance herself, she would need to take to the forest, not back a few feet from a boulder.

He assumed her angle of bringing up the moon was to distract him, though he knew not why. There were no hunting parties nor allies running within these woods. No, they were further away and could not make it to her location in time. She was truly alone here. Was she aware of this?

A crestfallen look grew in his cyan eyes. She was a lost kid merely looking to collect water, and he interrupted her. No, not only did he interrupt her, but he had also managed to shake the color from her skin.

"Child," he spoke in his flat, gravelly voice. "Why are you alone in dead of night?"

He stayed where he had always stood. There was no need to scare her further. "Murderous men stir within the idle branches of the forest. Men who seek vengeance for darkness swells within the soul."

Killing a woman, especially one so innocent, went against his code. However, if she were to attack him, he wouldn't hesitate to draw away her last breath.

The thought left a bitter taste in his mouth. He genuinely hoped it wouldn't come down to that.

Left alone with Eleanor, Melik glanced from his cot to hers. She looks cold, he told himself. Looking at his own cot, he wrinkled his face. Why would he sleep alone when he could cuddle on up next to someone else. He had spent too many nights alone in a cell--it was time to change that.

Gingerly, he tip-toed across the floor. When he was finally beside Eleanor, he kindly pulled back the blanket and nestled beside her. He kept his warm nose against her back and made no effort to try to spoon her. He was literally just a ball of warmth on her backside, purely innocent and kiddish.

"Eleanor," he whispered as his breath kissed her neck. "You need to be more careful. These people love you. If you're too reckless, everything you fight for will crumble. It's okay to retreat. And it's okay to count on friends to help you."

With a cleared head, he closed his eyes. He had every intention of just sleeping. Now, if Eleanor did protest, he would eventually retreat to his own cot to sleep. Though he wouldn't like it. He might even force a few tears, hoping she would let him crawl back with her.

When the male spoke, it was the sound of his accent that caught her off guard the most. She had no idea what he was talking about, but his accent was so close to hers. Even in the facility, people from her nation were rare; it was really only her and Sabine and Sabine was far from the talkative, friendly type.

His gaze drifted up to the sky, the woman had take a couple steps back closer to the male, drawn in by his voice. Her eyes were on his face; angular and clean, not too sharp that it was scary. When he stopped talking, a pain of bright blue eyes locked onto hers and the woman froze; they were beautiful.

Her mouth hung slightly ajar as he looked at this beautiful pale haired male. She said nothing, her desire to know where he had come from was gone as she got lost in those beautiful orbs. Yet, then they became sad; the blue almost seemed to waver slightly with the emotion which caused the woman's brow to furrow, her head tilting slightly as she continued to stare at him.

Then he spoke. The sudden question caused the woman to straighten with a start. Planting one hand on her hip, she held the other out towards him, her index finger raised. "First, I'm not a child, I can promise you that," she corrected the male, she then lifted a second finger. "I'm not alone either. Ok, well, immediately alone? Maybe." Her head bobbed from side to side slightly as she admitted the second part. "But I do have a bunch of friends out here, so totally not alone."

A goofy, yet confident grin crossed her face as she said, "Nope, these woods are pretty darn safe. Eleanor and Melik made sure to take care of the bad men. It'll take them a while to catch up to us at this point, so I'm gonna call BS on that one." The woman then looked towards the darkness as she added, "Beside, if there was some sort of immediate danger, the hunting parties would have alerted us."

The woman eyed the male over again. His clothes weren't anything special and clung to him in a way that didn't reveal any immediate weapons. He seemed well composed, save for his riddle poetry; he was too with it to be an experiment but too rundown looking to be a Facility worker. Though, the first could still be true so the woman poised the question. "Are you one of us?"

Though, it was quickly dismissed as she waved her hands in front of her, a bright grin on her face again. "No, no, we can worry about that later. Um, I need you to come with me, if that's ok." She then paused, her brows furrowing from inner conflict for a moment. "Though, I guess you don't really have a choice?"

She then crossed her arms under her chest, her weight shifting to one side as she hummed slightly. She hummed slightly to herself, her foot tapping on the ground for a few moments. "Yeeeeah," she finally said, her voice dragging out slightly. "I really do need you to come with me. I mean, I was sent out on a super important mission that you interrupted so I need to at least prove that I was distracted, or something like that.

"Besides, once everyone sees how handsome you are, I'm sure they'll all understand." Her eyes locked with the taller male once again as she repeated, "You really are good looking, ya know?"

The woman didn't seem to grasp what he was saying, which caused him to cast her a look of annoyance. If she wasn't going to take his comments seriously, then what good was she? Still, it appeared some of his comments wounded her pride.

"My apologizes,"
he bowed his head lightly, "miss." As he drew his gaze up, those sad eyes had a glimmer of worry in them, "Though, age does not matter. Men will ill intent will not ponder your age for they will be interested in..." his voice trailed off for a moment as did his eyes, "more mature things."

At her technicalities, Fritz found himself frowning. "Far will not aid you, miss. Speed nor quanitity matter either. I'm afraid only quality will prove worth for you."

As she rambled on, a heavy weight pushed down on his brows. This woman wasn't heeding his warnings. She needed to stop saying such frivilous things. She needed to...

Wait, had she really just mentioned Melik?

His poker face game was strong; not an inch of his body conveyed that he knew who Melik was. Within his heart, though, he found happiness. Melik was indeed alive... though prisoner or free didn't seem to be answered. From the way he spoke, he seemed to be of aid to her. But... was it slavery? Or was it of his own accord?

He decided he would continue to play her game."I can assure you," his gravelly voice had an underlying tone of pride to it, "I am not one of you." A small smirk played on his face. If only she knew the truth. That he was far from her, in fact, an alien.

And, like expected, she reverted to her childish antics. She was telling him to go with her. And she was also hitting on him.

His brows furrowed. Did she really just call him handsome? And then confess he was good looking?

With a forced eye roll, he pinched the bridge of his nose before signing. "Listen, miss, you better run along. I haven't time to play games with you nor am I looking to fight." Shooing her by waving his hand weakly, he turned on his toes and started to move away.

"Don't think about pursuing,"
he commented when he saw her form move out of the corner of his eyes. "If you do, the Code will no longer protect you."

Men with ill intent? Nyx looked down at herself as the male said that, his eyes wandering as well. She looked at her clothing; it was light, flowed nicely on a breeze. Her jacket closed over her chest and up to her neck, there was only small gap between the tops of her thigh high boots and skirt as well. "What's not to like? My outfit's super cute!" Her brows furrowed as she tried to grasp what the male meant; it wasn't like anyone in the nearby area could actually hurt her, not with the facility out of commission for the time being. There was enough snow to keep her powers going for quite a while too. Was it the outfit itself? Did they want something with that? Nyx shook her head, no, it must have been the first thing the guy was talking about; her outfit was too awesome for someone to not like it.

Her eyes then fell on the male again; was he, was he really doubting her? Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the male, a look of disbelief on her face as she said, "I'm not helpless you know. I don't think you really know who you're talking to." She then straightened herself, hands proudly on her hips. "You know, I have some awesome powers," she boasted before a look mixed with horror and disbelief crossed her face. She looked back and forth for a moment before saying, "I, I happen to be a black belt." Yeah, that sounded good. "Got that, a black belt," she repeated, as though it would make the statement anymore believable. "So, no need to worry, I can handle myself until my friends arrive, should I need them."

When the guy said he wasn't one of them, she couldn't help but feel her heart drop. This man, the love of her life, they couldn't share this bond of being the same thing. So what if he's not like you, maybe it won't bother him, she thought to herself, her mind and gaze wandering from the man as she soon looked to be deep in thought. The focus in her eyes made it seem like she was thinking of something of dire importance. Yeah, maybe. It's only water, so it's not like it's that weird, not like I have blades that come out of my arms or anything.

Her eyes locked on the rock as she felt as though her heart stopped for a moment. But I turn into a dolphin. Who could accept that?! That's a little on the weird side. A look of panic seemed to cross her face as she tried to reassure herself. Maybe he likes dolphins.

It wasn't until she saw him move from the corner of her eye that she noticed he had turned and started to leave. "Wait!" She called after him as she took a few steps to catch up to him. "Do you like dolphins?" Her hand reached out, nearly touching his before she pulled it back, her palm planting itself on her forehead, her other one waving dismissively.

"No, I mean, come with me, please," she looked up at him, her eyes pleading as she then grasped his larger hand in both of her own. "Please come back with me."

The strange woman was rambling again. Stopping, he figured he might as well listen to what she had to say. Who knew if she would talk about Melik and his whereabouts.

"Yes,"
he said nonchalantly, "your outfit is rather cute. Though I think you could do something more with your hair. Ribbons seem to be a reoccurring theme. Perhaps you should put one in your hair?" He put a hand to his chin to think. "Or perhaps a golden flower to pull the gold in your skirt out more?"

Having this discussion drew forth memories of he and Melik. When they were younger, Melik was always wearing god awful things. He would put the wrong colors together and always had too many different patterns going on. Melik liked things loud and bright--that's fine but gaudy and mismatched, well Fritz refused to let him leave the house. After years of work, he eventually taught Melik a thing or two about fashion. Granted, years later, Melik became the master of attire whereas Fritz... well, he liked to keep his traditional garbs. Plain and dull, but effective.

When she started boasting about her powers, Fritz grimaced. "And I'm a unicorn," rolled off his tongue. He was well aware of the fact that she could manipulate water but being a black belt? He doubted that. He was the black belt, master ninja. Never had he fallen from a rock like she had.

Sick of her pointless comments, he turned and left again. Only, this time she called out to him. Keeping his eyes toward the path he wished to escape down, he heard the woman ask him a very peculiar question.

Enough was enough. If this woman didn't want to take things seriously, he would make her.

Slowly, ever so slowly, his body would begin to ripple. It probably looked like a reflection found in the water. Only, it wasn't. It was real. Soon, fragments of his body would vanish until nothing was left. The snow were he once stood showed no signs of him being there either. Was it possible he was... never really there? Was he a ghost? Just a hallucination of a silly girl's mind? Of her burning desire to find someone to love?

Before she had a chance to move from where she stood, a spontaneous shudder would find its way down her spine. The air would grow thin, making it impossible to breath properly. The moon's rays cast larger, longer shadows on the white snow. Everything started to mutate into something straight out of a horror film.

"A woman shouldn't beg this much before a man," his voice whispered down her spine. There was a cool chill to it, as well as a softness that smelled like a summer breeze.

Just like that, his form materialized behind her. His body--just centimeters from hers--spilled its warmth into her. He was taller, much taller, so his body shielded the faint wind that kicked up snow from time to time. He seemed to block the moon's light, which could only mean he was glowing in her radiance.

If Nyx dared to roll her head up, she would find his fierce cyan orbs looking dangerously down at her. A glimmer of darkness twinkled somewhere in the rich color of his iris, as the moon's silvery light illuminated his face. His once dull teal hair was now a brilliant white color that contrasted his soft, peachy skin. Lips, taut and narrow, were drawn in a tight line across his face. He looked... apathetic.

Still, his so-called handsome face hardly looked like it wanted to kill or take advantage of her. There was a gentle, almost fatherly waver in his eyes. It was his oath to protect the vulnerable, to save the innocent. Nixie, no matter what she boasted and lied about, was still a little lass who needed saving. And perhaps, in that blinding moonlight, he looked like the kind of knight fit for an unorthodox princess.

Since he appeared behind her, his eyes were locked forward, showing no sign of moving. Then, suddenly, they jerked down. When their eyes eventually met, he would finish his statement. "It might just give him the wrong idea."

The fact that this man thought and agreed that her outfit was exciting to the white haired woman, the fact that he had ideas to bring the outfit together? Even more so. That was that, he really did have to come with her.

Just as her hands grasped one of his, his body seemed to flake away, almost as if it were made from the very same snow that had been falling moments before. She didn't let go, not that she needed to, as the male seemed to break a part. Then, like the wind blowing away bits of sand, he was gone. Nyx was in shock; her arms still partly out reached she just stood there, not too sure how to fully take what just happened. He had said he wasn't one of them, then what was that?!

As her brain was working on processing what happened and to make sense of it all, she felt a shiver work down her spine. It felt as though her breath was caught in her throat, breathing became more difficult. It wasn't like she was suffocating, but she could easily compare the sensation of her struggling lungs to the first submersion test the facility had done to her. The memories of that day hit her hard and the woman found her hands grasping at her throat, her eyes wide. She could recall her body fighting to swim up, but there was a ceiling within the water, preventing her to find air. She could feel the panicked bubble rushing across her skin. Then, he spoke.

His words were deep, his accent rich; it broke the past imagery and the woman found her body slowing its frantic breathing attempts. Her body flooded with warmth, his smell surrounding her; it was a sweet smell, the smell of blossoms, flowers and sunlight. She closed her eyes, her breathing slowing even more, as though she were in water; she could get lost in that scent. He warned her not to beg that much before a man.

The woman lifted her head up, to see the man that blocked the light of the moon. He really had disappeared and reappeared; how was he not one of them? Those bright blue orbs that locked with her own, they held so much emotion that just tugged at the woman, calling her closer as though it were something just trying to act innocent to lure in its prey. The thought that he could be with the facility echoed through her head again; maybe one of their own that didn't see the place as evil. Mmmm, if they locked me up with him, I don't think I would care what they did to me anymore, she thought to herself.

His dull colored hair was now a beautiful shade of white; it wasn't lost on Nyx that the two had more than a few similarities at this point. The look in his eyes slowly softened, the emotion seeming more endearing than dangerous or fearful; oh, did she love that look in his eyes.

A devious smirk crossed over the woman's face as she pulled her mind from those gorgeous eyes enough to say, "If it's you, you are more than welcome to get the wrong idea." She winked up at the male, though the smirk slowly faded as the gears of her mind started working again; she was doing something...

That same, almost unearthly howl pulled the woman fully from her thoughts, her eyes widened as she stepped away from the male. "I'm late," she whispered to herself. Spinning around to face the male she said, "We'll handle you taking my begging the wrong way later, for now, I really, really need you to come with me."

She then reached out and grabbed the male's hand again, pulling him to follow her. "No disappearing now, that's not allowed," she told him as she turned back towards the boulder and took a few large steps, getting ready to run. As she took those steps, her body wobbled a bit, her lungs and body fighting over how to breath and how to move. Her lungs worked like she was in water, but her body moved differently and in and out of water activities caused her body to work differently.

Nyx stumbled, falling to her knees, her free hand planting into the snow while the other held onto the white haired male. Her breathing seemed ragged at first as her body fought to figure out what to do, but then, without her command the snow her hand fell into began to quickly melt. As it melted, the water flowed up and across her skin. Snow further away from her started melting with it and as it flowed up her skin, it seemed to create a water skin over her own flesh. Her body was trying to put itself into water to help with the breathing problem, if it could.

With the water all around her, encasing her, the woman felt more comfortable, maybe not so much with her breathing, but she always felt more relaxed in water. Slowly standing up, she cast a glance back at the male, her hair floating like she was submerged in water. "After what you pulled, you don't have the right to get scared about this," she said to him, her voice echoing in the water as she smirked at him. "But now we have to go, the hunting party is going to start looking for me."

She then gave the male a solid tug as she pulled him after her in the woods.

No matter how hard he tried, this woman refused to listen to reason. Either she was retarded or...

His eyes went wide and a panic set in. Did she.... Oh god. He could feel his cheeks burning a bright raspberry color. Was she really in love with him? But he was asexual. She wasn't even remotely cu--

She was cute. Parts of her reminded him of Melik. Still, he wasn't drawn to people. Romance and love, those were fragil things. He saw how it broke Rroy and he had no interest in engaging in something like that.

Still, this woman seemed intent on keeping him. She even resorted to flirting with him. If only Varun or Arvin were here, he spoke inwardly. They were the flirts of the group. They would whisk this woman away and he would never have to worry about her winks or suggestive grins.

She left no room for argument. Tugging at his hand, she lunged forward. Soon after, she lost her footing and fell into the powder white fluff. Had she not summoned a bubble, he had every intention of helping her up.

Maybe that wasn't a good idea, he thought inwardly. If might give her the wrong idea and she seemed to be full of them.

Still, his eyes fell on her. "You need to be more careful." There was a sincere undertone laced in those words. "Also," a small smirk tugged at his lips, "I don't scare. Water manipulation is hardly rare nor unusual." Naturally, she would doubt him but Fritz didn't care.

Nyx led him for a while but after some time, he stopped. She would likely try to jerk him forward, but he was planted firmly where he stood.

"When was the last time you slept?" He had no idea how far they were from the caverns, but he saw bags beneath her eyes. If she had anything to do with the explosions and then the helicopter... well, she would have had a very action-packed day.

He wanted to kick himself after what he said next.

"Do you require assistance carrying anything?" He didn't know the extent of her power, but if she could shift the bubble into his arms, he would be more than capable of carrying it for her.

Or, the part that he really hoped she wouldn't consider, was the thought of her jumping into his arms. He was vague enough in his questioning that she could take it as a cue to let her so-called 'handsome' man carry her back to the camp.

As Nyx started pulling the male deeper into the woods, she smiled at him saying she needed to be more careful; that was her middle name! In reality, that was far from the truth and no one would believe that; the only person probably more clumsy than she was, was Noah. He mentioned something about water manipulation not being rare and that caused the woman to stumble slight again.

Whirling her head back to look at him, she brow knit together in disbelief. "What are you talking about?" She asked, both the hope of that being true and the sadness of know it wasn't the case laced in her voice. "Even among the others, very few of us have these abilities. Even among us, none of us have quite the same extent to our powers." She shook her head as she said, "If only it wasn't such a rare thing." chuckling a bit she added, "The only ones of us that have it are the ones that the facility touched."

There was definitely a part of her that hoped what he said was true though. After all, it was only human nature to want to belong and what the facility did was take away their chance to do that with the rest of the world. They were a group of misunderstood, unwanted misfits and humans feared what they didn't understand. She continued onward, that hope in mind, images of a world where they weren't different flashing through her head.

It was the male's sudden stop that nearly caused the woman to topple over next. The yank on her arm brought an 'oof' to her lips as she steadied herself and looked back at the male. "Sleep? Why does that matter?" She asked as she thought about it. Her gaze fell to the ground as she really thought about it; she had gotten up early to check on Eleanor, then they were saving people from the facility, then they were running from the facility, saving Eleanor and Melik, then grabbing water. "Last night, I think? I mean, I woke up early, why?"

A sly grin crossed the woman's face, oh was it a tempting invitation. The look in her eye seemed to dare the male just as much. The water that had seemed to form a second layer on her skin seemed to be absorbed by the very flesh that it covered. "Ooooh, you pose such a tempting proposal," she said, walking up to him, placing her palms on his shoulders, her fingers walking her hands to his shoulders as her gaze trailed back down to his chest.

"But," she said, her eyes slowly rolling back up to look at him. "I think you'll have to try and control yourself till another time. Home's here." She nodded her head back to a dark cave, it looked rather shallow and there was no one there. Above the cave were three sets of glowing red eyes; two pairs of two and a single pair of four. The one with four eyes was massive and stood in the middle, the other two at its side.

Grabbing the male's hand again, she pulled him along behind her, towards the back wall. "Shhh, you can't tell anyone," she said as she lifted her free hand. "It's our top secret entrance." She then tapped the wall twice and it seemed to dissolve before their eyes, though it in reality it was the sand grains pulling away to let them in.

Before stepping in she called out, "Aren't you guys coming too?" It was silent for a few moments before a deep voice came from behind them.

"Eleanor isn't going to be happy about this." The voice was low, very growl-like. A bulky figure side-stepped the two; the male was taller than Reggie and nearly as bulky. Unlike him, this one had long thick hair. As he stepped by, his eyes locked on the male, all four of them. His main eyes, situated where a normal human's were, were a virbrant red color, the other two that were off set towards the temples were pitch black, no sign of the eyes being any other color from lid to lid. The red eyes scanned up and down the male before he turned with a growl, heading into the cave. He swished his thick black tail that seemed to have a boney armor on the top as he disappeared into the darkness.

"Sabine's probably gonna yell too," said a more high pitched voice. A pair of twins appeared, hand-in-hand, both with the same long black hair but better kept. Like the other, their eyes were red, but the only had one set. Unlike the male though, they seemed to have an additional outer set of bone on their face. Their lower jaw had a layer of bone that created a second row of bottom teeth, there were sharp bones tht came from where human ears would normally be to poke past the cheek bones. There was a boney plate over the forehead that followed the eyebrow and curved up and around a pair of black pointed ears. "But you wouldn't bring someone bad, so we'll protect you," the other one chirped as the two scurried off to follow the less-than polite male. Like the male, the twins also had tails, though they were docked in the appearance of a Doberman's docked tail.

Nyx smiled at the trio and she walked into the darkness of the tunnel, pulling the male with her. "The last hunting party for the night," she said, though the male probably cared little about it. Once they were in, she turned around and tapped the edge of the wall twice, the sand rebuilding itself, throwing the two into complete darkness.

"Come, this way, we're almost home," she said as she lead them through the darkness and down the tunnel. Even without being able to see where they were going, Nyx had no problems in traversing the tunnel; she had clearly been there more than once to have grown that familiar with it. Once the wall closed behind them, the warmth from deeper in the cave was able to reach them and as they moved further in, it got warmer and warmer.

The sound of voices could be heard, hushed as they were. A glow started to appear on the deep brown rock wall and soon they had reached the main cavern. As the two rounded the corner, everything fell into silence, all eyes were on them.

"Nixie, what on Earth do you think you're doing[/i]," an accented voice boomed over the group, those closest to the angry blonde seemed to shy away from her.

The white haired woman didn't seem phased by the outburst as she said, "I found him in the woods! Or, well, rather he found me." Her voice drifted off as she caught on to the fact that, that would not have been taken well.

"He found you?" Sabine hissed as she weaved her way through the group from the back of the main cavern. "And what did he find you doing?" The woman's red orbs shot to the male, eyeing him up and down. When her eyes fell back to the white haired woman, the nervous laugh from her told the woman all she needed. "You're joking, right?" The sneer on her face told all. "You know to be more careful then that," the woman's voice dipped nearly to a whisper as she lowered her chin, casting a shadow over her eyes.

"I was being careful, no one was around, I swear!" Nyx seemed to start getting a bit more nervous at this point. The look on Sabine's face begged to know how someone could see her is there was no one around. Rolling her eyes Nyx parted her arms as she said, "Ok, so maybe I there was someone around, but I swear, there wasn't a soul out there when I got there!"

A woman's voice spoke up in the back saying, "She is correct Sabine, we sensed and saw no one when she went out to get water."

Sabine didn't seem too pleased by the support from one of the hunting parties. Her gaze rolled from the group behind her to the two before her. "Pray tell, just how did this man manage to sneak up on you?" The woman's red eyes rolled up at him; he was tall, it seemed unlikely that a person could so easily sneak past the hunting party.

"He can vanish," Nyx blurted out before covering her mouth. The group of people behind the blonde began whispering amongst themselves, looking at the taller male.

Sabine rolled her eyes as she said, "Yeah, so can some of the others."

Nyx lifted her eyebrows in a teasing manner as she leaned in towards the other woman and said, "He says he's not an experiment." The whispers grew louder from the group behind the blonde; Sabine seemed to be getting quite annoyed with this and that ploy only drove that feeling further.

"Then what is he supposed to be Nixie? Some kind of alien or something?!"

At her comment, Fritz could feel the hair on the back of his neck rise. If she dared him to do anything with her, his code instructed him to obey. It was probably the only part of the code he didn't like--to be forced into sleeping with people. It was one of the reasons he avoided all forms of contact. It was also the reason he did his best to act... well, different. Most women didn't like different. They tended to like Melik, Varun, or Arvin--the flirty charmers.

"Control myself?" He cocked a brow and for the first time, he chuckled. "I hardly think I'm the one who needs self-control."

When she led him into the cave, he immediately knew it was Melik's handiwork. The unusual trio, though odd, didn't phase him. They were strange but there were aliens out there with just as bizarre designs and shapes. Perhaps less bone and more feathers, though. Either way, he had mentioned earlier that little startled him. He had no intention to change that.

The second she drew him into the main room, all eyes fell on the pair. It was probably a good thing he wasn't carrying her. That would have made it all the harder to explain what was happening.

Granted, from the way things were playing out conversation-wise, perhaps holding her would have been better. The little lass at his side seemed to be in for quick the verbal lashing. As the blonde accosted the white-haired woman, Fritz found his blood beginning to boil.

Composure, he chided inwardly. One cannot get upset. Clearly this water-bender was in the wrong and the blonde is making certain she knows her place. Still, he didn't like how this seemingly innocent soul was being treated like a criminal. It wasn't her fault. He did, as she so kindly admitted, find her.

"Vanish,"
Fritz shook his head. "I cannot vanish. I can simply disappear into the wind. I mimic invisibility but I cannot go invisible." He corrected Nixie, though it didn't seem to help his situation--or rather hers.

"And yes,"
he so matter-of-factly began, "I am a Valsozn. Although our original goal was to keep a low profile, I'm afraid I cannot. Valsozn are," his lips curled into a devious grin, "a prideful species. To not boast our godly abilities is to...."

He found the gasping and awes to be rather bothersome. It wasn't like anyone was taking him seriously either. If anything, they only seemed to jeer and mock him. To them, he was a storyteller, trying to justify the cruel hand they were dealt. He was... stripping them of their uniqueness.

A controlled sigh came next. His cyan gaze on Nixie, he nonchalantly made his demands. He did his best to make Nyx fully aware that she was to be excluded. She had shown him kindness so he saw no reason to hurt her.

"I'm here for Melik Tasee. Interfere," the air grew thin, "and I will not hold back."

Although Melik's sand barrier did a good job keeping the wind out, a strong wind rippled down the tunnel and swirled within the main gathering room. It was very much out of place.

Fritz's orbs seemed to intensify, glowing an eerie sky-blue color. As he controlled the air in the room, he was fully ready to thwart these enemies. However, his scanning cased him to pass over a figure who seemed to hold some sort of power over him. It was an odd sensation but one he could not ignore.

The instant his eyes met her, the breeze fell and the air no longer felt as thin. If fact, it was warm, almost summer-like.

Head cast to the side, he raised his wrists to the woman with the white-hair. He looped them over one another, fully expecting to be cuffed or shackled for his antics.

"Your friends are lucky to have you, miss...." His lips pursed. He had yet to catch her name. Dipping into a full-bow, he spoke flatly, "I am Fritz Germain of the Spectre Corps and I surrender myself to the Woman of Water."

Pulling his head up, he shot a defiant glance at Sabine. "Tell me otherwise, and I won't hesitate to finish what I started." Orbs narrowing like little daggers, he hoped Sabine would leave things as is. Fritz was to be Nixie's problem henceforth.
