Hi! I'm Mobius. I'm in search of a beta reader. I've never actually had a proper beta, and I'd really like to get back into larger fic. So I figure, high time I sought one out. And where better to find one than here on Mene.

If you're curious what kind of beta I'll need, here are some ideas:

• I do a lot of fanfic regarding Sherlock (both BBC and film), Star Trek, and really right now, they're about the only fandoms I'm in.
• I need serious editing help. I have decent grammar, but I've also had a sordid love affair with commas and they end up EVERYWHERE they shouldn't be.
• I can't spell very well.
• I need someone to bounce ideas off of, someone who will tell me when a story has plot holes, or a character isn't in character, or who would be willing to say 'hey, how about instead of this, why not this?'
• I need someone who can be on regularly. I don't know if I'd rather talk work over Mene, or IM, though I'd prefer IM. It's faster and we won't bog down our PM feeds.

I think that's about it. If I think of anything else, I'll try to stick it up there. Post here or PM me if you're interested. We can talk and see if we go well together. I can also send you a practice piece of my writing if you'd like, so you'd have an idea of my style (and overwhelming comma use).

Nope! I've had a few people contact me on tumblr. And then have never heard from them again. v.v

I guess I could try it out. I've never beta'd before. I'm not in your fandoms, but you can still bounce ideas off of me and I know my way around grammar and critiquing. Lord knows, that's half of what I went to school for. Though I'm a comma whore too. >.> *cough* I'll clean them up for you anyway!
