Does anyone else make their own creations by wire wrapping? I started off wrapping crystals into pendants a few months ago, and soon found that it's surprisingly addictive! I've yet to attempt earrings, bracelets or rings though...My skills are fairly basic compared to some of the items on offer out there.

Show off your creations and discuss techniques if you fancy it!

Some of my own to start things off:

All made working purely on instinct and luck!

I have made earrings, but I've yet to be brave enough to attempt wire-wrapping. Though I'd not want it for big stones, it would be for beads. Pretty sure that the wire I have isn't the right kind for wrapping though, what do you use?

I mostly use 22 or 24 gauge wire if i remember rightly, stainless steel coated copper that i get from Ebay. It seems to do the trick.

I have never tried wire wrapping. I think I'd have problems with it as my fine motor skills aren't the best.

I'm actually a silver smith, and I do it sometimes. I prefer to set my stones in bezel, though.

I'll make scarfs for anybody for twenty bucks plus the cost of yarn.

This is something I can definitely see myself getting into. I like rocks. I'm oversimplifying the intricacy of the craft, I've played with wire work and it's not easy but I feel the result would be worth the effort.

I don't know if I have the fine motor skills for this.

I actually have a project, or rather something I've been meaning to do...I'm a really frequent customer of this witchy new-agey type little store, and I was discussing my frequent nightmares with one of the amazing women who work there and she started telling me about charms....long story short, for the past several months, I've had a small bag of various stones and a length of copper wire which I've been meaning to make a charm out of. The only thing I need is red silk ribbon, or leather cord, because I wanted to make a necklace and wear it, and she told me those materials were conductive to energy flow. o_o

Hi! I've done some wire wrapping, though it was some time ago now. I ought to take it up again, but right now I have so much with summer work and other projects, not to mention friends that wants to meet, that right now I just don't have time for wire wrapping. And I also displaced my precious three-in-one pincers , but I got myself a set with three small once instead, so I'm all ready when it's time for the wrapping again.

Here is a picture of the last wire wrapping I did. It's a pair of garnet earings that I made for my aunt last Christmas.

I have pictures of the other things I've done, but I've already posted them in the tread: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/lifest...s-ideas-7.html. But if you want me to post them in here too, just tell me so.

And Sun, I really like your wire wrapping. Especially that rock crystal one in the lower left corner, is my favourite out of them.

Wish I was able to do wire wrapping. Though I've learned how to do two new crochet stitches.

My wrist/hand hurts when I try to knit and crochet.

I really do need to make that charm, though, but fiance has stashed the wire somewhere.

I've never knitted and I am strengthening my wrist and can longer on crocheting.

My sister used to crochet wonderfully, but she stopped once she had children. Not enough time, I suppose.

When I have a baby, all I want from her as a present for it is a lil baby blanket. She makes such pretty blankets.
