It's super cute and catchy (almost to a fault :sweat: ). People I know are usually on polar opposite ends when it comes to reception: they either absolutely love it or find it annoying. What do you think? I personally love it. :D
Though I will admit that the video is slightly creepy as well...
My friend showed me this a few weeks ago. I was so confused. :XD
I do think it's cute, but yeah, it's definitely got some creepiness to it. It's just plain weird... But catchy! I found myself singing the chorus for a few days afterward. xDD I like Pon/Way part especially.
I really liked it the first time I heard it, so now I'm just going to chill in this thread and listen to it again. Is it just me, or is that girl's voice really childlike?
I absolutely love her. I have her Album and Jelly is a good cover song she did. ^^ Because Perfume also did Jelly but I like Kyary's cover. As you can tell, I like her, she use to be in my sig. D; She's on my MSN display. ;o You also made me want to listen to her song, so I am. :D I thank the guy in my sig who introduce her to me, he's AMEZING! (Amazing)
Shit... not this again. D;

OK then~! I've never watched the video till now and I have to wonder if whoever made that was on drugs.
Also, Japan's obsession with cute things scares me. o_o
@Kanna: Oh really? I like Perfume too... I must listen to these two versions for myself...
@Nonsensical: Well, Kyary is an icon for a fashion style in Japan, and the set for the music video was put together by a renown Japanese designer Everything in that video is pretty well-planned, even if it does seem cluttered and crazy.
And it's not all of Japan, just a part of it. :sweat:
Aerinn: Actually, Capsule did the song but Perfume also did the cover for it. ^^ I'm not much of a perfume fan but the guy in my sig is. HA~ So I haven't heard their version nor Capsule, the original song Jelly came from. :)
Okay, well, I haven't had any luck finding a Perfume cover of it, but I listened to capsule's and Kyary's versions of Jelly. In my opinion, despite it being the same song, both versions have a different intent with regards to the choice of background music style and what not. capsule's is more hard-hitting and electro-loyal, and Kyary's is sweet and bubbly.
I find it hard to compare them because of that, but I will say that I enjoyed the two very much. :yes:
I personally love how bizarre the music video is. xD And the derp-faces she makes are great. <3 The song itself I could listen to for quite some time and not get bored of.
I agree that the video is very bizarre, but it's a really good escape from the norm. I admire how she can make such funny faces and still be gorgeous. :yes:
Is it bad that the only thing I really noticed about the video is that her pants must have been designed by the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami? Those eyes are definitely his design.
Hm, so I looked over the two, and although the eyes are similar to those of Murakami, I don't think they're quite the same... Here, let me put them side by side:
