What would have happened if no one bought Menewsha?

I mean, I read that there are bidders, so this isn't a concern.

But I'm curious as to what would have happened had there been no interest.

Escalate Media would continue to own the site and at that point would have to make some tough decisions about the future. I cannot speak for Lee so I have no idea what he would do at that point.

So, if no one bought it, the currents owners would just have to keep it?

I'm hoping for the best. A lot of time and effort has gone into this site and it is well worth it. The community is so different than others, filled with people who respect one another rather then spam and scream. How much does it cost to run a site like this one? Just asking out of curiosity.

Quite a bit actually... more than you'd expect. We're relatively cheap all things considered.

Yes, the previous owner is well-aware of Menewsha being up for sale. He made his awareness quite clear in a lot of different ways.

No offense meant to anyone, but I do not want to even think of a Menewsha/Kinsaki hybrid site. We are rather different creatures. Like a giraffe and a horse.

I've always wondered, what is it exactly that costs so much to run on avatar sites? Is it just the price of servers/hosting, or are there other pricey things?

*squishes mene and it's members* I think the change will be for the best. If we can get a coder that will work 20 hours a week for us sooo much more could get done! As much as I love what Lee and Ken have done for us, I think finding an owner that can give us more attention is the right action for them to take. <3

It's disappointing by that admin on that site that they had the mentality to do that - its extremely unprofessional and shame on that administrator.

:) I'm glad for everything that Lee and Ken and the whole staff have worked - so kudos to Lee and Ken in particular for bringing Menewsha to the way it is now! I'm excited for a new owner because it is a new Dawn and I'm going to stick around to see it. I hope we get a owner just as good as Lee and Ken and who is willing to be devoted.

You know, I've checked out a lot of avi sites and I've joined a lot...but menewsha is the only one that I've actually had the desire to stay at...plus to me, the art seems SO much better compared to places like gaia.

This is the only avatar site I have joined that I actually like and have stuck around on. I really hope that the new owner will love Menewsha and be able to help us grow, of course not too quickly.

Well, I guess it is for the best. We just have to hope that someone will devote themselves to keeping Mene a very friendly enviroment, and keep it from turning into a Gaia mini me.

Now I feel bad that I have been neglecting Mene for the past month or so...
