"your welcome." Erik yawned a little. "I hate to leave you but I am exhausted." he chuckled a little. "Do you mind if I go to bed?'

"Sure," Veronica said as she stretched. "Is it okay if I sleep on your couch again?" she asked as she yawned. It felt weird that she was sleepy at night instead of in the daytime. She guessed all that cooking wore her out.

"of course." Erik stopped. "If you get thirsty just say something ok?" he sounded a little nervous but very certain about it.

"Okay," Veronica said. "Don't worry. I'll be a good girl," she added as she laughed.

"I know you will be." Erik smiled at went to bed falling asleep almost at once.

The next morning, Veronica woke up, stretched, and yawned. She rubbed her eyes and looked around. The night before, she slept like a baby. Today, she felt refreshed. So she got up and got ready for the day.

Erik was already up making breakfast nodding in time to the radio. 'Good morning Veronica.' he greeted reaching for plates. 'I made waffles if you want some."

Veronica smiled as she walked toward the kitchen. "Good morning Erik," she said. She saw the waffles and breathed in deep. "Mmmm. The waffles smell good. I would love some." She noticed he was nodding to the radio. "You like this song?" she asked as she got herself some waffles.

"Yes I do." Erik chuckled as he sat down to the waffles. "this station has a lot of great songs."

"Yeah, I think I've heard some of the songs this station plays," Veronica said as she sat down at the table. Right after she sat down, another song started playing on the radio. It was one of her favorite songs, and she laughed. "Here's another good song. I guess they know we're listening." She started eating as she quietly hummed the tune.

"Maybe they do." Erik smirked. "They have hidden cameras to watch us and people who can read minds to tell them what songs people who are listen liking to hear."

"Hmm," Veronica said. "That would be pretty interesting. Would that work for tv shows as well?"

"Maybe." Erik mused. "Seems that way sometimes doesn't it?" he chuckled a little. "It would be super creepy if it was like that."

"Yeah, it would be kind of creepy," Veronica agreed.

Erik took her hand across the table and squeezed. "Most girls think I'm crazy when I say that." he smiled a little. "Thank you for not thinking I'm crazy."

Veronica suddenly got a weird feeling when Erik touched her hand. Chills ran through her as she looked at him. "You're welcome," she said. "I don't think you're crazy," she added.

"Your amazing...shouldn't you be asleep? I thought vampires got tired during day time?" Erik frowned. "Not that I'm trying to get of you I'm just curious."

"Yeah, I should be asleep," Veronica said. "For some reason I don't feel tired though." She chuckled. "Weird huh?"

"It is a little weird are you sure your alright?" Erik took her hand. "You don't need to go to the vampire doctor?"

Veronica laughed. "I'm fine," she said. "Besides, even if I needed to go to a vampire doctor, they wouldn't be open at this hour." She stopped laughing and thought for a minute. "You know, I could be becoming a human. Maybe that's why I don't feel tired." She shook her head. "Listen to me! I sound so stupid! That's a silly idea!" she said.

"Is it possible? If so why would you be changing?" Erik frowned a little. "Doesn't make much sense does it."

"It could be genetics. My mother was a human," Veronica said as she thought. "My father was a vampire who fell in love with a human. I ended up being part human, part vampire. You've just seen more of the vampire side of me." She paused for a second. "Maybe the human side of me is taking over." She looked at her plate, and looked at Erik. She held up her hand, and said, "Hold that thought." She had finished eating, so Veronica stood up and cleaned her plate at the sink.

When she came back, Veronica folded her hands on the table. "I mean, I'm just guessing. That could be why I'm not tired."

"Maybe. You promise you'll get help if anything happens right?" Erik took her hand. "I want you healthy and happy." he kissed the back of her hand.

Veronica looked into Erik's eyes. She smiled, put her other hand on his, and said, "I promise."

"Good." Erik smiled then relaxed a in his chair. 'I think I don't want to go to work today.' he sighed running a hand threw his hair. 'First things first grocery trip so that we can eat for the rest of the week."
