"Your right. Fear too. I fear this power." Eden told Thane. That moment in her lif had been blocked out. She was still young compared to most of her superiors. Even a baby being in her early twenties. But for Eden not having lived more than a couple of decades, the even was long in the past. She moved on from it, fining good in the work she did not. Even if it did come with even more sacrifices. The agents on that mission, only one survived, and Eden took his spot in the agency. The Surviving Agent was now number three in the agency. Many were sure he had killed his own partner, but it was hard to tell. Eden felt the eyes of Thane on her the entire time. He was circling her. Watching her little movements while Eden disappeared into this little world of training her power.

Everything Thane said had made sence. She had watched him do it twice now herself. But actually finding the feeling to control the power was much harder than it looked. It was like learning the movements to walk all over again. She felt something foreign move threw her body, and Eden started to move with it with her mind. Predicting where the next place she would feel it was. Quickly she noticed a pattern, and Eden tried to change the flow. Having it move to the tips of her fingers. It worked, but the same dark line appeared just in front of Eden, pushing her back as it exploded. She stumbled, catching herself before standing back up and trying again. This time stopping it before it released. Holding it in a particular spot was painful though. Thane's next step was to expand it, then condense it. This part she found particularly harmful to her body. She worked from the center, holding it in a little ball withing her torso for a good minute before slowly expanding it to fill her body.

The process was very slow, and many times Eden overloaded during the process. She was very fearful, that was easy to tell. But each time she did overload, Eden began to try again. She did not master a particular step, but you might say she had improved by the end. She had been going at it for two hours straight, stopping only when she heard something pop, levitate and fall, or explode. She was not speaking very much because of the heavy concentration Eden was going threw.

Thane watched over his partner for the next few hours. He watched on as she had minor overloads and kept the scanner on her, watching her as she pushed her river of power through her body. He made sure to give small bits of advice as needed, but for the most part he tried to let her focus. Thane knew she didn't need much instruction since she was already improving quickly in regards to getting an understanding and feel for her energy patterns and circulation. It was pretty impressive to watch honestly, and Thane wished that he had been taught like this. Her training was going much smoother than his had. Everything that he was teaching now, he sort of picked up on after a bit of experimentation and some reading through the lines of his teacher.

After pacing around her for the few hours, Thane realized how late it was getting and figured it was a good time to stop since it was nearly ten. "Alright, Eden. That's enough for tonight. Let's order dinner," he said as he undid her blindfold. The man wasn't really in a mood to cook so ordering something for dinner was their only other option. But before they spoke on dinner he needed to explain something to her, "Now since we likely won't have anymore time to spend doing this you can practice these in the mornings, since you like to wake up so early. And anytime that we're traveling you can practice. I won't be able to watch over you anymore so you'll have to be extra careful if we're in a confined space -namely the car- so that you don't blow anything up."

He gave the woman a big smile, "You're getting it fast, so it shouldn't be long before you can control it completely. I'm impressed." Then the dark skinned male placed a kiss on her forehead, "I have a lot of faith that you'll get it down quick Eden. Oh and you may have overloads during the night. Just fair warning. Under normal circumstances I would train you to exhaustion so that your energy flow would be so low there was no way it could overload but we have work tomorrow so, that's not an option."

After that he quickly moved all the furniture back to their proper places and plopped down on the couch. "You should go get a drink now. Oh and what do you want for dinner? Or you can go ahead and place the order, just let me know what you decide so I can tell you what I want," he called out as he started looking over some of the clips from his fight with the gargoyle.

She heard Thane asking he to stop for the night. Eden did feel worn out, mainly her head felt so. But she could have still kept going. It was getting very late though. He came up behind her, pulling the blindfold off. Warning her of a few things he had noticed. But over all he did not seem too worried. Which made Eden feel much better. She was honestly scared the power coursing threw her body was going to be far too strong for her to handle. That seemed to be how the agency saw it at least. She wondered how long they had been holding her back. "Thank you Thane." She said to her partner. Stretching herself out a bit. She had been standing in the same spot for a while, so her body was a bit stiff. But with a good stretch, that was corrected. "This is probably the trickiest thing I have had to do in a while." Eden admitted with a smile. She was very happy to see he was impressed. It made the woman think maybe she would be moving up in the ranks soon. To a safer rank at least.

"There has to be a way to store it. Or is this how you feel most of the time?" Eden asked her partner honestly. Was he constantly in battle with his body like she was now? The feeling was so foreign to Eden, maybe this was how it was supposed to be. It was hard for the woman to say. At the mention of dinner and a drink, Eden thought while she went into the kitchen. "We are in New York, what about just simply pizza?" She asked from the kitchen. With the fancy breakfast, there was no need to get something overly fancy for dinner. Especially since they would be heading to bed soon. Eden went into the kitchen, taking a bottle of water from the refrigerator. She saw Thane doing a bit of work on the couch. He told her what he wanted, and Eden called to place the order from a small shop just down the street. "Alright, it should be here within the hour."

Stepping behind him, Eden placed the water bottle on the counter before starting to kneed his shoulders. She was watching the videos behind him. Seeing the gargoyle from what he saw. Thane got a more up close and personal look at the monster. More so than Eden did. She knew the creature was huge, but seeing him in that view did not do it justice. Eden leaned down and placed a kiss just above his ear. "Am I distracting you?" She said with a small chuckle.

Thane gave his friend a nod to acknowledge her thanks though it was unnecessary. He knew had the situation been reverse she would do the same thing for him, so there was no need for any thanks. He laughed lightly when she said it was the trickiest thing she'd done in a while though, "It get's much easier I promise. Once you get good at it, it's almost like walking or talking. It becomes a natural part of who you are and what you do." Or at least that was how he felt. Maybe there were other people who struggled with this but Thane had always had good control over his emotions and the energies inside him. Either way, he had faith that Eden would be able to master her powers so long as she got over the fear. That was something he shouldn't have to say to her though. She would figure it for herself.

When she asked about storing her powers Thane simply shrugged, "If you can't completely control your powers you won't be able to store them. Which isn't really a worthy term of what actually goes on but we'll leave it at that for now. Once you've stopped yourself from having the overloads I'll train you to really keep your powers in check." The subject quickly shifted to dinner and the male grinned slightly when Eden said pizza. He'd figured that what she wanted, "I'll have pepperoni then. Oh, and a side of mild wings." Then she went and placed the order letting him know that their food would be there soon while he continued to go through the visual footage.

What he was watching at the moment actually disturbed him more than the actual fight had. While he had done some damage to the gargoyle, he'd actually hurt it a great deal less than he thought. The amount of stone that was flying off the monster were only about the size of a normal rock. It had seemed like so much more when they were fighting since he was chipping off so much, so fast. Turns out, he barely did any real damage to the creature. Eden had done more damage when she shot it. So maybe that meant that the stone near its heart was weaker than the stone on its body? If that did turn out to be the case then it was likely something that the mages did out of fear of what they were creating. And if that was the case then that meant that the mages had likely lost control of these creatures and felt like it was better to allow them to get away than to keep them locked up. A disgusting thought, but a possibility.

Feeling her hands on his shoulders relaxed him a bit. The man hadn't realized how tight he was until now. She was good. Thane wanted to stop analyzing film and do some other extracurricular activities but he knew that this was important. "No, its not a distraction but it make me want to do. . . other things," he answered with a smile.

Eden smiled behind Thane as mentioned her little act was distracting him. Even if he would not quite admit it. "Hmmm.. What ever do you mean by other things?" Eden asked as she walked round the couch. Picking her device up along the way. She set it down on the table before sitting next to Thane. No just sitting though. She had her legs over his. Toying with the man just a tad. Eden looked up to Thane, seeing the small smile on his face. Bringing up her own device, she linked her files to his. So it would allow Thane to see the information she had gathered. The probes she released the previous night had mapped out the tunnels. Following the blood trails. It seemed what they had found was very interesting. Eden noticed a pattern right away. In the shape of a star. At the edge of one of the points was the station they were at the previous night. While in the middle of the shape, four of her probes had gone offline. More than likely destroyed. There were still a few active ones left they kept working.

She moved to get a closer look at the pattern, which brought her sitting on top of his lap. Although Eden seemed to honestly not notice as the information distracted her. "Its a star." She said. It was a bit tricky to see. But she pointed it out. "Maybe even a pentagram." Eden suggested. If mages were involved, it would make sense. But if it were true, it meant they were now working to stop a ritual.

Suddenly she realized where she was sitting. But instead of scooting off, Eden turned around. Her legs resting on either side of his own while she faced him. Both arms were crossed behind his head while she played with his hair. The thought crossed her mind if the power was giving her the confidence to do such a thing, but it dd not last long when more words of business came out of her mouth. "If I could get one bullet almost threw to its heart, killing them will be very easy. Just two shots, or a good thrust from your sword." Eden mentioned. Although she was sure Thane had already figured it out. Killing creatures was his specialty.

It seemed Eden was in a playful mood tonight. That was good. Thane was glad that she seemed to be taking everything in stride and not worrying about it so much. Maybe that was a good sign of things to come? Or maybe she was getting revenge on him for all the other times that he'd messed with her. He suspected it was the latter when she came and sat down resting her legs on his lap. He glanced down at her nice toned legs then back at his screen. She was sending him the data that she'd gathered so he sent her his own so that both of them would have both sets to analyze. During the fight, he hadn't even noticed that Eden had sent out probes and even put a tracer on the beast. She was always thinking ahead.

His mind shifted as Eden moved to his lap. Not that he was uncomfortable by any means but she might be, if she kept this sort of tease up. He grinned to himself but ignored the obvious for the time being as she pointed out the shape of the pattern before them. "Do you think this is a ritual?" He knew the answer to that. She'd probably come to that conclusion the second she saw the shape. But if this was a ritual, what were they trying to accomplish? If this was a covert attack on the Agency then this here might just be the start of a war. But that was worst case scenario of course. There were still way too many unanswered questions for them to jump that far in right now.

Then everything stopped for Thane as his partner turned to straddle him. His eyes were looking dead at a pair of very nicely shaped breast and it was impossible to ignore. She was playing in his hair, which he secretly happened to like, though he never openly told her so. She had said something to him while his mind was focused on. . . other thoughts and it took him a moment to register that she was speaking to him. "Wait, what? Did you say something?" He had to tear his eyes away from their previous source of interest and focus on her face, which seemed highly amused right now.

"Just talking about quantum physics or something." Eden said in a sarcastic tone. She would tell him later. Right then Thane seemed very preoccupied with the girls strapped to her body. Eden could day she had actually never caught him looking. Then again, he probably did it in a way where she would not notice to with. Eden scooted just a few inches closer to Thane. Their bodies almost touching, her lips were barely touching his. The same way he had done in the car to her just the previous day. "Whats running threw your mind right now?" Eden whispered quietly. Were they rushing this? It seemed so sudden, so soon. But then again, for Eden at least it was all pent up inside. Waiting to come out. For some reason, her body was just screaming for something. She was not sure what that was. But with the way her body felt so foreign, she liked to feel Thane brushing against her.

She finally leaned forward the extra inch to kiss the man in front of her. She felt her lips burn with passion as she did so. Her body kept moving closer and closer to Thane until they were against each other. Locked in a dance over both passion and dominance.

Thane smirked at the sarcastic comment. She had probably said something important before noticing his lack of concentration, but she would repeat herself eventually. Now just didn't seem like the time to talk business. He could feel his body heating up, and certain areas growing more impatient under the current circumstances. How long had they been holding this back? When she asked what was running though his mind, the dark skinned male just shrugged, "Why don't you read my mind?" He replied sarcastically himself as he placed his hands on her hips. Their lips were barely touching but he could taste the sweetness of her breath and could feel the heat building up between their bodies as their passion began to overflow.

Their lips connected and not long after their bodies were pressed together in a similar fashion. Thane's hands grew a mind of their own as they searched Eden's body for something. They were taking notes of every inch and curve she had without any instruction from their owner. Thane had stopped thinking long ago. At this point he was allowing nature to run its course and acting on those emotions that had long been held back. He'd known how he felt about Eden for some time now but wasn't really sure how she felt since he had no experience in the department. But from the way their bodies were reacting to one another now, it was safe to say she'd been holding back as well.

Their dance of passion landed them back in the bedroom, although the bed was the last stop in their quest. Once the fires of their passion had subsided, the two of them laid there in bed, with their bodies still intertwined and a feeling of satisfaction that was long overdue. "Well, that was. . . sudden." It was all the man could think to say as the sweat from their workout glistened all over his body.

The entire passion filled hour had been a thrill. There seemed to be a dance neither of them knew, but found themselves to be very good at. Eden found her mind to be a blank while her body acted on its own. Finding its place with Thane as they moved. They settled in the bed. Her breath had just slowed to normal as her body felt both relieved and exhausted. Her legs were tangled with Thane's, on arm seemed to have disappeared while the other was thrown over his chest. The two were silence for a bit before Thane spoke. "A good sudden I hope." Eden knew she liked their sudden fit. She leaned up on her hidden arm to look at Thane. Eden had to admit her body flt better as a whole too. Her head felt fine, and her body even better. She was smiling down at him.

"No, it was definitely a bad sudden," Thane replied sarcastically. "I wonder how long you've been holding all of this in?" It was a half rhetorical question. He was thinking aloud. His body felt light and rejuvenated even though he was tired now. The pain in his ribs had subsided a few hours ago, so he was feeling really good right about now. He smiled back at Eden as she stared down on him. This had been an interesting day to say the least. Eden's power had awoken. He'd trained her a little bit. They got to relax for a day thanks to their injuries. And finished the day off with a long turn in the sheets, and a bunch of other places. Thane wasn't sure why things had turned out the way they had but he was more than pleased with today. Tomorrow meant back to work for both of them and this night would be a thing of the past until the mission was over. Maybe?

"So what happens now?"

Thane amazed himself with how dumb he felt asking that question. But it was worth asking, he thought. He could feel the urge to do it all over again rising in his body. But this was something they could only do in their free time. And they would have none for the rest of the month. It almost made the man shed a tear thinking about it. Still, they would be busy enough to not worry about physical things he hoped. Maybe there should be ground rules. . .

Eden could see the turmoil in Thane's eyes. He was thinking those insane yet true thoughts Eden knew all too well. This was something they both wanted, even needed. Other agents did it from time to time. But that was all it was allowed to be. Just the occasional roll in the sheets. Nothing more. Love.. was a thing they could not risk. Even say out loud. There were not any traditional relationships allowed. Their missions were first. No if, and or but's. Of coarse children did happen, but they did not come without penalties. As much as Eden hated it, they would simply have to stay partners. She was about to speak, even opened her mouth when their came a knock on the door. It must have been their dinner. She closed her mouth and smiled.

"I got it." She said simply before getting up and dressing quickly. Running her fingers threw her messy hair before stepping out of the bedroom and to the door. Eden barely got within three feet before the door burst open. She was met with a shock wave of magical energy, sending her back and into the far wall. Although this time she braced herself. Kicking back from the wall, maneuvering over the couch, and grabbing her device from the coffee table. Threw the door came three figures in dark robes. Four more behind them. Eden dodged another attack while she took her gun out. Shooting two of the robed figures straight threw the head. But.. They did not fall. Their hoods fell , showing the stone mages behind the robes. They were moving just as humans, but their entire face was made of stone.

Thane laid there in silence as his partner got up and got dressed, his urges and desires still raging as he stared at her walk away to answer the door. He knew they could only be friends and that nothing could come of this but he also knew that their relationship was much deeper than just friends. It had been that way for some time now. Still, he knew there was no use worrying about something that he couldn't change and wouldn't be able to do anything about so the thoughts quickly flowed from memory.

He was shocked out of bed when he heard a loud thud as something was happening in the other room. "Eden is everything okay," he called as hopped up and started to get half dressed. By the time he had thrown on his pants he heard gunshots. They were being attacked? Rushing to the other room with his flames flaring up with his anger he saw two mages. Made of stone? "What the hell?" Immediately he sent a condensed set of fireballs at the mages knocking them off their feet and buying him time to get to his SDP. Having suffered no real damage the mages slowly returned to their feet as the two in the back seemed to be preparing spells. Thane scrolled through his device and found his blades, quickly pulling them from their storage. "We need to get out of here," he said to Eden as he threw in his earpiece.

They were compromised somehow. This place was no longer safe, so they needed to get out and contact Will to let him know that they needed to find a new place quickly. And as far away from here as possible.
