Hi! *waves*

I'm brand-spanking-new to Menewsha and too shy to just walk into a stranger's thread for the Halloween event. So I thought I'd make my own thread and see if I couldn't attract other people who are doing their first event on Menewsha too or are simply friendly to newbies.

Here's hoping some folks stop by.

I've only been playing LoL for a couple of days now. It's been interesting. So, what do you do in your spare time? If you have any that is.

It sounds like you might be able to make some recommendations. I primarily read novels with the occasional comic and sometimes manga. Fantasy, supernatural, and romance. Here lately I've been reading Sherrylin Kenyon's Dark Hunter series.

I also happen to particularly like Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, and Jacqueline Carey.

I... don't regconize any of those names. I mean, I heard Tamora Pierce. but I haven't read any of their books.

I... read Chinese ones too. More CHinese than English. Which is why the weak English grammar. lol.
I find the English novels are not as humourous as some Chinese writing style. It is not because of culture difference, it is just some Chinese novels seems to be able to convey many laughing jokes in one page than English.

Are there any available in translation that you would recommend to someone not entirely familiar with Chinese novels?

Most of the romance novels do not have translation. :/

But there is some fan translate light novels. Those are the funny ones. Like them.

I do love a good translation. Mostly though I try to find books I know I enjoy reading already in English in French and read those to practice my French. I'd like to get a Kindle to make that easier for me.

I didn't read them in English to judge.
But There are some laughs originated from Chinese language.

Anyway, I am not familiar with the translated anyway. I prefer to read things in its original language.

I can definitely see the appeal in that. I'd like to add to the languages I'm proficient with in order to be able to diversify my reading. Right now I only speak English fluently but I'm teaching myself French with some help from one of my boyfriends.

I can't imagine not wanting to learn other languages. It's such a foreign concept to me!

Maybe those people are either lazy or not interested.
Just like I am not interested in learning history.

Not being interested makes sense. Still, I suppose it's like my non-interest in science. One of my boyfriends is way into science but when he gets to lecturing about it I tend to fall asleep.
