He nodded he understood. "I know..." he whispered and then looked at her. "But what about my father?" he asked her softly. "he'll notice and come after me."

"We have no choices. If you stay, vampires will come after you. You're a newborn by our standards. They will try and annialate you, to eliminate competition." She said.

He nodded. "I would do that too.." he whispered and looked at her before getting up. "Well then, let's travel light." he said. "We can take two horses with us."

She smirked. "We won't need them. You are now twice as fast as the finest bred steeds, M'lord. When you changed, your abilities enhanced." She said with a nod. "We do however need to procure two black, hooded cloaks."

He got from the bed and stretched out. He did feel stronger and different. Smiling he got to the closet and pulled out two cloaks. "These will do."

"Perfect." She said with a nod. "So, tell me... How did the feeding feel for you? Some newborns get sick the first time."

"I feel fine.." he said and looked at her. "It turned me on actually..." he whispered before he held his stomach. Then he looked at her. "I think I'm about to get sick..."

"Oooh, uh... Breath deep and try to hold it back. Otherwise you will have to feed again before we leave." She said, coming over to him.

He did what she told him to do and breathed in deeply. Slowly he felt a bit better. He nodded and looked at her. "I'm okay..." he whispered

"Okay... Good." She said. She sat on the edge of the bed. "Come sit down. I need to make you aware of the customs, rituals and etiquette of our kind..." She said softly.

He nodded and sat down beside her.The crimson glare had disappeared and his icy blue eyes looked at her. "PLease, proceed."

"Okay... Here's how we live. First of all, now that you are a walker of the night, for the next two months you are considered a newborn. You possess more strength that the typical vampire, however you are weaker in that you can only feed from the one who changed you..." She said softly. "After the 2 months, you are considered full and no longer have to feed from me. In fact you may not feed from another vampire after the two month mark, accept for one reason."

He nodded and smiled and looked at her. "Alright.' he said and looked at her. "And that reason is?" he asked her softly.

"You see, we vampires have a system. We mate for life. When one feeds from another after the newborn phase, they are initiating the bonding rituals. Should the other involved allow it, then begins courtship. First the two must face each other in combat to see who has dominance. Should the male lose, then the courtship will end unsucessfully. But if the male wins, he might feed from her again, and there after the are considered mates. They stay together at all times, and fight to the death for one another, need be. They may also feed on one another when they please."

He nodded. "I see..." he said and looked at her. His arms folded and looked at her. "And if I understand it well, the male his the base of every partnership?" he asked her as he looked at her.

"More or less. However It all hinges on the allowance of the female. If she disallows a male to feed on her, then he knows he's been rejected. Also, if a mated male is found feeding off of someone who's not his mate, the penalty is death for the male and the one he fed from." She said.

He winched in pain, but understood it well. "Love is important to us?" he asked once more then smiled. "Finally...It matters."

"Some of our kind prefer to use the term loyalty, but yes. It is very important. The very earliest courting can happen is upon the age of 3 months. That gives a newly full adult a month to establish himself within the clan." She said.

He smiled and looked at her. "Okay. Is there anything else I need to know?" he asked her softly. He stroked his long red hair back and then realized, vampires had no soul thus no reflection.

"Yes. One last thing. When we present ourselves to the clan elder, stay behind me, as no one will attack a guarded newborn. It's a matter of honour." She said as she stood. She wrapped one of the black cloaks around her shoulders. "We need to leave soon..."

He got a bag and stuffed it with clothing he might need. He then looked at her with hte cloak around him. "I'm ready." he whispered softly.
"You're my guardian and my teacher, I have to respect you."

She grinned wryly. "Actually, by all rights, you have every right to hate me..." She said, "But it's much easier if you don't."

"I don't hate you. In fact the last few days...I felt something for you. Obviously...." he said before looking at her.

"I goes without saying that I've grown fond of you... Otherwise you'd be dead right now..." She said softly. She went to the window sill and opened the window. It was very high up, but never the less, she jumped, landing with a cat's grace.

He looked at her and smiled. When she jumped out he got to the window, swallowing when he figured out he had to jump.

He then closed his eyes and jumped, his warrior like body landing perfectly fine.
