We call them 芭蕉 (bah-jiou) instead of 香蕉 (hsiang-jiou, which means banana) so there's no confusion, but I don't know how it goes in English.

I'm definitely terrible with languages, I can't even learn Taiwanese despite living in a country that speaks the language quite regularly for over half my life. It's just so hard.
