interesting characters 8D and wow, that's the first time i've heard of the medieval re-enactment thing *3*; is it a bit similar to LARP (Live Action Role Play)? :O i've only seen LARP once and it was all alien to me since i wasn't sure of the rules or whatever XD;

btw, if that's you as the refs pictures for the medieval ones, you're so adorable! XD

It's like larp, but only a little. (Larp seems weird to me, one guy's like "I cast *insert random spell* at you!" To which the other guy replies "Ah! But I blocked your spell using my magical whatever-I-can-come-up-with!"
In medieval re-enactment we use real iron, not sharp ofcoarse, and are protected by real chainmail, helmet and such, no latex here :)

I'm an archer myself, on the battle field I get to shoot arrows with big rubber points instead of sharp ones at the enemy, still hurst when they hit you though :D *knows from experience as there are archers on both sides*
All the materials we use are according to the period, what I'm wearing in the pictures (and yes, that is me :sweat:) I've all made by hand, no sewing machine involved.
We put up our tents on a friday and stay there until sunday on most camps. Cooking over a fireplace, doing everything as 'medieval' as possible.
Mind you, not everything's medieval with us (like underwear XD), I still have a sleeping bag in my tent and in the cans on the tables there's coca cola as well as water :D.
There's a more extreme from of re-enactment called living history where everything has to be medieval though.

We have this one camp we go to called Historia Mundi, all different periods are gathered there and it's great fun! Celts, vikings, WW I and II, civil war, roman, hippies (still not sure if they actually re-enact it or if they just are that way, but either way it's just to funny to see them running on the battlefield between the cannons tossing flowers all around ^^),...

Hm, I partial to originality and creativity XD
Experimental techniques and such, if executed well.

I've no real preference of digital over traditional but if you pick traditional,
I am sensitive to the quality of the scan, upping the contrast in photoshop when needed is a definite plus.
I'm also a huge fan of textures ^^

color would be nice :)

Eventually, it all comes down to judging each piece and artist individually :)

I like symbolism, have had my share during arts history classes :D, but I'm not too good at applying it. In schoolwork yes, but I've never actually tried it in other works, hm, maybe I should...

It's more of because I want the one receiving the art to get the kind of art that they want. :3 After all, I would want the same thing. ^^ <3

I don't have anything particular in mind as of now. Only ideas and VERYveryvery rough sketches for positioning and stuff. No time for anything more at the moment. >.>;; I do hope I can enter though~ :3 If I do, expect a last-minute entry, as I have a tendency of submitting entries (or anything, really >.>) kinda late. xDD;; <3<3
