Shade's Children is a really good science fiction book. It's pretty much about a society that came from either another dimension or space. I don't remember. They took all of the people over 14. They killed them unless they wanted to use them for reproductive purposes.
There were a few that escaped, but not many. It's pretty much about the ones that escaped figuring out what these creatures were, where they were from, why they took people, and how they could get rid of them.
