I mentioned before that coffee does nothing to keep me awake. xDD;; I only drink it for the taste of it. I'm addicted to the bittersweet blends and frappucchinos. :drool: Which is why I figured I can sacrifice my enjoyment in coffee for now. Also to see if I can actually do it. XP <3<3

It's for lent su. Catholics do it about this time of year. Your suppose to give up something that you normally eat or do or whatever. My friend use to be addicted to coke, and she gave it up for lent. Was soo funny, she seriously was going around the bend LOL.

@ Su : Yeah. D: But I'm going out later today for a family thing (can't avoid it), and on Monday I have to facilitate something for one of the organizations I'm in, so I seriously have to do everything when I'm at home so that I don't have to cram as much. @[email protected];;

@ Chi and Su : That's the simple way of saying it. =) For Catholics (as well as Christians) "mourn" the coming death of Jesus in Lenten season. He supposedly dies for our sins. So, as a way of somewhat sympathizing with him or doing something similar in return for his sacrifice, Catholics give up something they normally eat or whatever for Lent. =) <3<3

But, not a lot of people do it nowadays. >.>;; At least, between city folk. xDD;;
This is the first time I've probably abstained like this for real. :x
But then again, abstaining is done from 15 years old and above, while fasting is 18 and above, I think.
You can "choose" what to do, I think? =O It's not a practice forced on you, but there is meaning behind it if you choose to abstain or fast~ =) <3<3

I like learning about little stuff like that, too. Its neat to know why different people do different things. And its actually pretty ironic with this discussion, because last night I watched the movie "40 days and 40 nights" where a player of a guy obstains from sex for lent. It gave the backstory for why its done and what not.

I dont really have any addictions to give up. Probably just computer and TV would be the things that I do most often. I dont drink coffee and rarely have soda. I'm not a sexual person and I dont do any drugs or drink alcohol. lol There isn't really much that I would have to sacrifice.

I'd have to give up something like cheese or fizzy drinks *nods*. xD
I don't eat crisps anymore, or chocolate or drink or anything else.

@ Chi and Su : You don't have to give something up entirely, you know. xDD;; Some people sacrifice one less hour of TV or something. Or, others just cut down on desserts. You don't need to totally omit something from your life when you sacrifice for the Lenten season. =) <3<3

@ Ry - I'd have to agree. Its nice to be able to come on here and meet so many different people. And on here I find people that are like me and that I have fun talking to. It just seems like the people around me in real life are growing further and further away from the good people that I once knew them as. :/ I can understand why many people grow away from their high school friends. Either way, i've been saying I need to get new friends for years. ><;; Its really sad and harsh to say, but its rather true. :/ But I know that'll happen once I get out of this area and go to the University.
