That's true. But truth be told i hung out with a group that use to get crazy drunk nearly every weekend and majority of them are very successful now with life & career.

Some just get stuck in it forever, though. :/ But I think that the majority of people around my area are getting drunk all the time if they're in their 20's or lower. It really sucks for someone like myself that wont drink and prefers a more stable conversation and friendship. But it was just stupid at my school, because it was pretty much everyone, even people in younger classes like middle school and stuff. I just dont think that its setting a very good example. And the kids keep getting worse and worse every year in every kind of fassion. They are so rude to everyone these days. I was so glad to get out of high school. It seemed like every year of freshman got worse, and I dont even want to imagine what they're like now.

Yeah this one that stabbed a teacher in high school, wasn't even kiwi - Some Korean dude. But it's weird, you'd never think Asians could be so violent. But there's been heaps of crime lately involving Asians in this country. One guy stabbed this taxi driver to death just recently. And then another case about a year back - They found this asian dude chopped up in pieces floating in a suitcase in the harbour. Some other asian triads had murdered him and thrown him into the ocean. Like seriously ... if you wanna kill someone go back to your own damn frekkin country and do it. Making our country look terrible!!

It's gonna just push parliament closer, and closer to putting a hold on friggen immigrants, or people wanting to study here... etc. It wouldn't be a bad idea, if things keep getting this bad. @Nivvy - I totally agree with you. Because in a lot of cases murders are being committed mostly by foreigners. Including islanders. I mean okay there are a few maoris and europeans amongst them. But most of the crime is done by islanders or asians lol.

Lol no. I mean there was a stabbing here in the last year and a murder like about 12 years ago. But other then that just your general crimes. And yes it so is, it's really sad. I'm scared to go anywhere ... i think i watch to many of those murder shows lol.

I watch too many murder shows, too. And I also did a lot of reading on psychopaths and serial killers for a research paper, so that just made me all the more weary.

We've only had like one murder in my town that i've ever known of. It was an old man many many years ago. He got stabbed, I think. Other than that, its just gang activity. Dont think anyone has died in our town from it, though.

Oh man - I was just in NZ in March. Even when we wandered into the seedy area of Auckland I still never felt unsafe- but that could be because the city I live in has a larger population than the entire south island :XD

I did notice that in Auckland most of the people I saw there were Asian and not Maori or New Zealanders . . guess that's just the nature of university towns. :yes:

Police commissioner said preliminary figures for 2009 show a 10 percent decrease overall in violent crimes.

He said there were 302 homicides as of Dec. 29, compared with 333 last year.

The most violent year of the decade came in 2006 with 406 murders. The murder record still stands at 500 set back in 1990.

This year, there were 950 rapes -- 15 percent less than last year. Residential burglaries were also down 15 percent and auto thefts were down 23 percent.

Official statistics won't be out for months, but day-by-day totals police have collected show progress, according to Ramsey.

Awww I just read about the murder of this 80 year old woman, here in Auckland. Where a 30 year old guy snuck into her home, and wanted money. She gave him a fright - and he said in court he felt 'spooked' by her. It's like, you're the one in her fricken home you idiot! Why the hell should you be spooked? Poor old dear fought back to get him away from her, and he ended up doing terrible things. He beat her, put a phone in her mouth to gag her, dragged her by her hair, tried to stuff her in a wardrobe, then he knocked her unconscious by stamping on her chest. This guy was just agro through and through - and had done horrible things to many people. The judge said, I doubt you feel true remorse - I feel what made you angry not 'spooked', is the fact that she fought back against you.

I feel sad that such things happen at all >: All he got was 12 years, and she will never have her life back - and a family will never see their beloved grandmother again. She even purchased wedding gifts for all of her grandchildren, and now she'll never be able to give them.

Yup, there's a Military Prison. It used to be Ardmore, but it might have changed since then. Evil ass place man. You hafta have every single thing in place as per usual with barracks, but you have the bare minimum there.
