Well somebody wanted the val hairpin, so she outbid everybody gold count wise. So all her competition backed down, because they realised she must want it hardcore. Since she couldn't be there for the end due to school. Another person going for the Crown realised she wasn't going to win the Crown, so she said she would change her bid, and topped the Val hairpin by 50-100g.

A lot of people were saying that's really crappy, because she decided to change items, just to win something - as opposed to simply accepting she lost on what she wanted. I don't know if that was her actual intention or what - but Eroy decided not to take her bid, and went with the girly who wanted it throughout the entire week.

But...Eroy did what she thought was right...so can't change it.
Not like it matters anyways..I mean, sure it's an AMAZING item, but there's always gonna be another one.

To be honest i don't think that was fair.
It's an auction - if that was a smaller item that wasn't worth as much she wouldn't have bothered rejecting that bid. You have to be tactful - if you can't be there at the time then that's your issue. It's just like a REAL bid on ebay or trademe. You can't just reject a bid because someone else was bidding on it all week and then another person came in from behind and took it from you. It's just what happens.
I mean shit just the other day i got a dragon sword swiped from beneath me because i wasn't there to bid. Yeh i had a rant about it, but the truth is it's not that person's fault i wasn't there. People should just stop complaining.
I hate this idea of people backing off coz someone is questing - well maybe the other person is questing too did you think of that .. probably not because people will always favour one person over the other. I've seen it loads of times when these auctions/raffle end - people bitching about other people winning and how it wasn't fair and blah blah blah. Nobody can just be happy for each other.

@Nivvy: I was looking back on all the bids at the end and noticed that person who bid something like 30100 on the Vday pin, but Eroy didn't acknowledge it. I was wondering why that happened and now I know.
I also think that it should be acceptable to do that switch at the very end if she wasn't holding the highest bid on the crown at the moment. It could always be the case that she is questing for both items and really wants either one since both the crown and Vday pin are awesome things. It is also definitely a good tactic to use, so it confuses me that this isn't allowed.

Yup I won the pin from the raffle, but I won the chicky from the auction by using the last minute swiping technique. I was bidding on the golden cloverpin all week since I do like it a lot, but I knew deep down that there was no way I was getting it because of my competition. Therefore I switched to the chicky at the last second because I also really like that item and it is hard to find sellers. I know it was evil, but it is allowed so there is no true consequence.
I completely understand how pissed off people would get if anyone did that switch thing for a very rare item though. Even if they are upset there is nothing actually wrong with doing that since in real auctions it can be done all the time.

Ahhh righty ^^. Yeah i'm on both sides of the fence on that issue, i mean to be honest - if i had the gold, i would have done the same thing. Because it's an item i like, although i would never do it just to win something. ^^;;

Well yeah, the rules allow for last minute bidding which is fine - but Eroy does also state in the rules that she can refuse to accept somebody's bid at her own discretion. So yeah, i guess sometimes sneaky tactics work, and other times they don't. Anywhoo, either which way it doesn't really bother me since i wasn't concerned with winning the pin this time, thanks to my low gold count xD;;

Juru said she might be able to speed things up, but in all honesty i don't think anything is gonna happen. It's lasts for a month - but it's still a strike against my name so im severly unhappy. But in a place so small - there's no where to go to complain about these things and get things reveresed.

I got an infraction for not quoting stuff. I mean it wasn't deliberate - But she slapped it on me anyway lol. I was severely upset i almost quit. But Juru made me change my mind. But now that i've had time to think about it, i so didn't deserve that and now i'm feeling all bitter and angry about it.

I talk to Juru a lot because of the issue that happened with my account and receiving overloads of CI's. She's really really awesome, and always has delicious things in her siggy lol xD. Well she just said some things that kinda made sense, and said she had to get together with the mods and tell them - you know like they don't need to be so harsh like that, maybe giving someone a lil warning by telling them "Hey you forgot this, or don't do that" etc etc. I mean it was the first time i've ever done it - it really wasn't deserved. I mean i'm nice too! Infact i was helping people out at the time it happened, that's why im so upset about it.

What happened was - i was in the community referral thread, someone asked about putting a referral link in their profile/siggy on Gaia. I said NO you wouldn't be able to do that. (I know this because i asked about something similar earlier on in the year). Everybody was still all ums and aahs about it. So i went to a site mod and asked her - I posted the information she sent me. Which i was meant to quote apparently - because it was a PM directly sent from her. I thought i was doing everyone a favour. Coz that's the way i am i like helping people out when i can and if i see necessary. But NOOO. Totally got slapped in the face, and now i'm never gonna butt my nose in again.

random question but i have a program similar called Gaiarch xD it works on mene too but i sorta have to do it manually.. like on gaia i'd just appear when i submit but here i have to right click and click the post style i want for it to work
