I don't watch those shows. but i know some very talented portrait artists.
If you ever want help figuring out what you'd like, i have a lot of experience brainstorming tattoo ideas with people. Ask any time :)

do you have time now:XD
My only lasting idea has been the letter Q with a speach bubble coming from it that has a pink heart in it
But it can't really be that big and I'm thinking for on my right shoulder on the back

thats interesting, do you mind my asking what it means?
there are a billion pretty fonts out there, especially for the letter Q. i think it's a great idea. :)

Well I'm a general fan of speach bubbles and of hearts, "Q" is a star trek character who is a being who is more than a god who is interested in the potential of humanity to evolve into something even more powerful and better (as in more moral and caring) than his own race. It's kind of a simple tribute to the questioning nature of humanity and about loving everything you do  it all makes more sense in my head
it's not as fleshed out as i thought:XD

Awe :(
I drew a picture today too http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ri4sweetly.png
It's for a friend's birthday.
I really want to get it done i just have to decide about size and font. Anda i kinda of want the speach bubble to be white and not have the heart or it outlined black because it always seems to look grey after awhile but my boyfriend has tattoos and seems to think that white will run or not show up well

awe shoot, would it be better then to have them both outlined and then just ... what would you do? go for touch-ups really often... to me speech bubbles are white

yeah. you'll need touch ups on white enviably. try to find a shop that guarantees their work and offers free touch ups for life. ask about the process of getting a touch up too, some places have paperwork and hassle that takes months if not years.

Well I'm in canada, not sure if that makes a difference.
I've heard that there is a really good place in my city but I'm kind of new here and I've got the idea in my head that if i want to insure awesomeness i should go to a bigger city for it like Vancouver.
I guess an artist can do any font I can find though because they just put it through the make a blue copy scanner machine

Do you ever have annoying customers? or young girls who plan to have kids one day who want things all over their stomachs?
My boyfriend actually was starting an apprenticeship in a tattoo studio but to start he had to redraw things, and when he listened to the directions left by the customers he was told to change it to be more like what the head tattoo artist wanted it to be like.
So he felt really frustrated because he felt he wasn't helping the customers and he was helping the head guy to make their tattoos the way he wanted them. So he quit. But they had big fluffy pet dogs in there all the time and that seemed unsanitary to me :S

yes and yes.
and yeah, its not sanitary to let dogs into a tattoo parlor. and that's totally normal for apprenticeship, I'm amazed he quit over that. they do that intentionally because the head artist is looking out for what will work best long term--the person getting the tattoo is only thinking about what they want right then and there. He was trying to get him into the mindset of finding a balance, you know?

Yeah i can see that. The only reason he was trying to apprentice was because he loves to draw and loves tattoos and he was hurt in a car accident and wasn't able to stand around full time for long periods as a baker anymore which made him really frustrated to begin with.
Also it was the first time he'd even looked into tattooing and right away they needed an apprentice so he didn't really know what they wanted from him in the way of the job.
I think there might have been talk of them moving and leaving the shop to the guy who'd just finished his apprenticing too o.o I dunno :D
It all worked out in the end though as through physio therapy his back got better and now he's the assistant manager at a sport paraphernalia store. Also he's not so quick to anger as he was before the accident and during the 9 or 10 months of his injury. it wasn't a fun time let me tell you :XD
It must be a rewarding job though, I'm delighted if i see my artwork in other people's signatures let alone on their bodies
I should be getting to bed now though maybe i'll see you around some time!

ahh, i understand. yeah it can get a bit sketchy like that, just the nature of the business unfortunately. i'm glad to hear things are going well for you and him now :)
Oh yeah. i love that people are willing to trust my ability to express an idea in their skin and hold that for the rest of their lives. its fascinating as an art and spiritually rewarding to me.
