Yeowch. I wouldn't blame him for getting pissed though; it seems the mroe famous you are the less respectful people get when they're around you.

That's so true. I bet celebrity artists get sick of obsessive fans just throwing themselves at them. I can't say it's a very appealing lifestyle, either.

That's why, when I'm getting published, I'm keeping my private life private (that's a mission and a half right there), using a pen name, and not having a photograph with the about the author page.

Good luck with that. Privacy is darn hard with the press and internet nowadays. (But it's so cool that you wanna be a writer! What kind of writing, may I ask?)

Science fiction and fantasy. Makes sense, considering how that's what I was raised on! :XD
And I'm hoping to break what's becoming an all-too common stereotype among female fiction writers; romance will NOT be a main part of any of my books. I don's see why it has to be...well, and romance in general makes me want to barf. But seriously, women can write good books without any romance.

Tamora Pierce wrote the best non-romantic fantasy series. She single-handedly drew me into the magical world that I've been loving ever since.

I love her books too. I've bought every single one of her books and stalk her website waiting for the next to come out.

:3 Now I'm getting all nostalgic relieving my middle school years, where I'd hide my nose in one of her books as soon as school let out. I loved loved her Circle of Magic and The Circle Opens series. The most recent book I've read of hers, The Will of the Empress, wasn't as good as the first two quartets, in my opinion.

I agree. I did really like the Bloodhound series though.
I actually got, I think Tris's book, first for free from my grade school. I ended up managing to trade and beg and get that entire series for free. And that is what got me started on her.

Oh, I'm so jealous! The only Pierce book I have is Briar's book, and it's dog-eared like hell.

Shoot, I have so many books that I know that is how I'll die. One day the bookcases will fall and I'll be killed under the pile of books.
I can't help but buy books. lol

My bookshelf is crammed with SAT, AP, and SAT II prep books, along with the super back killing heavy textbooks we're using in school. And a couple of Terry Pratchet novels.

I don't have any text books, though I'm not in school anymore.
When I was in high school and taking the SAT and ACT I didn't have any of those books though. For some reason I'm great with those type of tests. I did have to retake the ACT once because I missed the score I wanted by one point though. But I got that point and got two free years of school and books. ^^

LOL, I've the ill nerd bookshelf. My parents tend to go above and over with the standardized tests, so I have a ton of prep books, a lot of which I haven't even opened much.

I'm horrible with tests. No matter how much I study, once I'm at the desk the pressure causes me to forget most of the stuff I memorized/studied.

Oh, I'm horrible at tests, just really good at those standardized tests. As the father said on Raising Hope, I do great on tests that have bubbles. lol
I think it is less because I know the stuff and more because most of it is reading. The reading part reading, the science part reading, even some of the math is just reading.

I do wonderfully on the reading sections. It's just the math that gets me hung up.

Ugh...math...icky....
Speaking of tests, we had the final "exam" in speech today. According to a teacher, it shouldn't be called an exam, but that's what the university calls it because it's weighted so heavily. But, it's only 100 points, and sixty of those come from multiple-choice questions. The last one's a 40-point essay question.

I hate the math part too. I work out the ones I can and then guess on the rest. Whichever one looks the closest to right.

Yeah, I have three in my room. One in the office, and a small one in the living room. Though I only use the ones in my room. I need to buy another one.
My poor manga/travel bookcase is full.
