I was only able to get the purple hibiscus through Chi's charity.
It took me months to get the red one.

I was luckily donated the red one :yes:
I can only hope to get the purple one through Jelly's Wishing Well T_T

I think it promotes a bit more activity in the forums (at least when the NPCs are around lol), and it's fun to interact with the NPCs in that way, kinda makes you feel special when you get that trade with that rare item in it. :'D There are good and bad aspects with it.

There will be more bertie bears in the future.. just gotta be in the right place at the right time when the time comes. :B

I really don't completely agree with they way they go about it, though. I think the NPCs need to stop being so picky about who they give their items to. >.> I know I don't really have a chance to get a SNG (and all the ones I've gotten so far were through exchanging) since I'm not active outside the exchange anyways.

I think it's a bit unfair because they only come out during events - and if you're too busy/not able to make the actual event games/threads or are merely not interested in playing the games/contests, then you're screwed on everything now.

The candy sticks, for example, I had to buy/trade for all mine (and I don't even have one set yet because I'm missing the crystal mint one) because I was busy with college and didn't have time to participate in the games and such :(

I totally understand how you guys feel. To be honest i've just been in the right places at the right time when i've gotten my SNGs. I got the tapi and the eggplant during events - By participating in the contests mainly. I had to buy my hooch & light spell. I got my chicken (Which i don't have anymore) purely by mistake - coz Channah thought i was someone else who was starting a charity lol. And the bertie i got by pure luck in a halloween event thread as a page prize. The cookies are easy to get, i think i got those for filling out Event FAQ. So to be honest i don't think that the NPCs are picky with who they give them too - You just gotta be in the right place at the right time. And since i dedicate a LOT of my time to mene, i just happen to be in those places by pure chance >____X

Siri - Because i'm not interested in the sperate EIs, and i don't value the cookies that high, also coz i've got most of those CI sets your offering - I only valued it at 55k. Did you wanna go ahead or not?

Haha - yeah, the cookies are so easy to get that -no- one wants them anymore hahaha
I've had to buy a lot of my items, but I've gotten just as many given to me as well - Channah donated one of the heads, Cain did, Nalin donated the red one to me, I got a les voil d'or by participating in the shipwreck event - but i had to buy the hooch and squid, i got the strawberry cookie from Vicky, but the booger from my brother, and the candy sticks, as I mentioned, were all traded for :yes:

Yeah thats true. The NPCs should have non-event related contests for em. Like maybe some avi contests and stuff like that. :) Especially since the raffle and GBA haven't been running.

And once you've won/own (through purchasing even) the NPC item the contest is for, you can't enter again/enter at all :yes:

I just don't think it's fair to the rest of us who can't draw. It should be something that everyone regardless of talent can do. OR at least do multiple contests. lol
Yeah that's true, it may even make people stick around or join up. If they know something interesting is going on. Cause when there are no events, it's rather boring coz there's nothing else to stimulate you, other then what we are doing all the time - chatting in the forums, same old threads, games etc etc.

Precisely - it gets really boring when your friends aren't online and your usual threads are all dead - it'd be a nice conversation stimulator 'cause you'd be hanging around the threads chatting, hoping to spot the NPC and chat with them :yes:
