Oh you got a bug? That sucks :(

Yeah. It started out with the boys getting it and then I caught it. Now Wesley is working on getting it out of his system.

Oh it sucks when you gotta look after kids and work.

Yeah, luckily for me is the fact that I could get the rest when the boys were in school. And Wesley stayed out for two days.

So apart from the bug, what else has been happening hun??

Outside of that, not too much. We got invited to a birthday party today but Wesley still isn't feeling all that great so we're likely going to stay home. And to be honest, going to this party means it's very very likely that one, if not all, of us will wind up with a tick on us. And I really don't want to spend an hour searching for ticks on me or the boys.

I believe it's in their back yard. Which is fairly big and has a creek running through it. But the ticks are bad even close to the house.

I wish I could say the same, but life here has stagnated. It's just been one mess after another, and for the past few months I have wanted nothing more than to scream and run away.

Ticks like to hang around areas where animals roam, or so I've been told. I know that if you have tall grass that you have to be careful.

But then again i don't think that's common in NZ. I've been on heaps of farms and places where animals lurk - and never had a tick attack me. lol Be interesting though, does it hurt??

Most times, no. You never know you have one on you unless you get to looking for it. And it's best to always check yourself as they are known to carry diseases like Lyme disease. :( Which can be fatal if not treated.

They do. But they carry the diseases too. I think I read that they "spit up" in your blood once they bite you in order to make it easy to suck. *shudders* I hate the suckers. :(
