OMG. I am so sick of the guys that my boyfriend plays Exalted with. Sure, I'm friends with a few of them. Very casual friends. More like 'friendquaintences'. Colin, Dave, Shale and Shale's new bleeptoy Janna or whatever her name is. I was pissed when Darrin told me about how Janna sent Shale a text message about how she was preoccupied by the Black Skies of Ry'leh. And, as predictable, the other guys acted like she was the only girl who'd ever read Lovecraft and all but creamed themselves over how "cool" Janna is.
Bleep that. How come they never creamed their pants over my allusions to Lovecraft or comic books or videogames? I'm just as much a gamer chick as she is but I'm considered 'cute' and other various random non-cool things. It's so frustrating and it makes me want to scream. Oh well. I get no respect. Bleep them. I can't stand it. I'll say something to even my close circle of friends and they won't listen to me but if someone else, ANYONE else says it it's pure gold. I hate feeling like I might as well be a mute for all of the respect and authority given to me. AAAAH! Just had to get that out.

my boyfriend is part of a LAN group, and though there are few girls that go to those things, i get really up tight inside because i think, oh that girl likes playing that game that he likes, which makes her competition,(i aM A SCORPIO,so i get jelous very easily, and over very small things,my downfall.

I used to get all those "whoas" and "I can't believe something like you exist" and stuff like that when I started going out with my honey and everyone got to know me.. at first glance I was just a pretty girl, but then I was beyond that when I told them I play computer and video games.. =D lol, I found it pretty amusing.
Now no one fuzzes about it anymore , but I don't mind. Just as long as my honeyl ikes me <3

LOL! I salute you, fellow /b/tard. And yeah, I play games and stuff which is why the fawning over Janna is so insulting. I was raised in fandom and I ooze geek out of every pore. Well, that and girly girl with pink jelly shoes and makeup but I would think that'd make being a gamer even more awesome but I guess I was wrong. I just feel so alienated about it.

well you aren't just playing games to get attention like she, right? you play games because you love games, you're a geek because you love it.
if that is the case then you should not worry about someone getting more attention than you for doing the same stuff :3 I'd be glad if I found someone like me.
