did you talk with the cops..? you should deffinitely report about their behaviour to someone.. that's intolerable in a long run.

Not that bad of neighbors. They make practically no sound. Maybe the only I argue about is that they keep their houses bright like christmas time.

If you live in an apartment, you should be able to go to the office/talk to the landlord about it
and get them to do something about it. :0
They weren't my neighbors per-say, but my dad had some similar issues with neighbors like that when he was living at a different apartment complex,
after a while the landlord/officee person (whatever you want to call them) eventually booted the people.
I don't really want to list all the stuff my neighbors have done,
but yeah, I know what it's like to have to live by very inconsiderate people.

We had neighbors like that before. They got so violent in their fights, throwing things and all, that there were times when they knocked things off our tv cabinet because whatever they threw hit the wall so hard. The first time it happened, we went next door to check and make sure no one was hurt, since it sounded like a cabinet or something had collapsed. The guy (who was definitely under the influence) got really nasty and threatened my husband and his friend, but when I cam out, phone in hand, asking if I needed to call the police, he got apologetic and backed off.
Had even worse neighbors in the next place I lived, but it was a house, not an apartment, so they were easier to avoid.

I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment for awhile, maybe 3 months, with my girlfriend and another couple, we were all getting a house together so it was temporary. It was in an upstairs apartment and we always tried to think of the other people and didn't stomp, didn't play loud music, never even had guests over. We all worked and worked different schedules and us coming and going was enough. Well, things were great for 2 weeks, till a couple moved in under us. The first night they played music until the cops came. We didn't have a phone so we couldn't call the cops, but they thought we did. Even after finding out we didn't have one they blamed us and the harassment started. The apartment manager was lazy asshole, finally told us to just call the cops after complaining about them pounding on the ceiling and playing music AND threatening my girlfriend. Then one night, my buddies girlfriend tried to put a note on their door asking for a meeting so we could all talk about it and that was when we found out how crazy these people were. The guy had never come to our apartment when me or the other guy living there was there, so either he didn't know I was home or I scared him the way I opened the door, but he kind of pissed me off coming upstairs and pounding on the door, and kicking it and threatening to drag us out into the yard and beat us all. When I jerked the door open and stepped outside, he fell running down the stairs. The neighbor had already called the cops and when they got there, he tried to say I threw him down the stairs and the cops told him, he was lucky I didn't have a gun cause I could have shot him the way he was pounding on the door. The next day, my car was egged. The couple weren't very bright tho, they left the empty egg cartons in their trash so when the cops got there(damn right I called them) not only did they find the egg cartons, they could tell where the eggs where thrown from cause of the splatter and said it was from right outside their front door. Well, I guess the cops pretty much scared them into leaving us alone and we never had problems with them until we were moving out. The neighbor called the cops cause he said he was afraid for us and a cop stayed while we finished moving out. The other neighbors that had no clue, were looking at us like we were getting thrown out cause a cop was there. Was really hard for me to not do something bad to that guy, I owe both those girls alot of thanks for helping me keep my cool, if I could have gotten my hands on him when I opened the door, well, who knows what I would have done, but I was in protection mode after the threats he gave before. I am glad I did not do anything stupid. :sweat:

I would just keep calling the cops, eventually there will be enough evidence that the manager can throw them out.
I feel so bad for you, I have lived with a down stairs neighbor who was crazy, and called the cops on yet an other tenet all the time. I still get nervous when I see cop cars near my house. Thankfully both the crazy one and crack head have moved out. Now I nice sane neighbors. I am in fact pretty sure I am the bad neighbor as I keep late hours. But I do it watching TV not partying.

They do sound a lot like ours. The walls rattle when they start slamming stuff around. It's a wonder nothings fallen and busted.

I'm very happy to have nice neighbors. We borrow each other's stuff all the time and watch each other's houses when we're not home. Right now we have their griddle from when we made pancakes a few days ago.
The only thing that bothers me about them is that their son plays the drums and you can hear it in our house. They don't even touch each other and we can hear it. Doesn't bother me too much, since he doesn't play at ungodly hours.
Really, the best way to deal with bad neighbors is probably to talk to them about it. It may not help in every scenario. They probably aren't going to stop in the middle of a fight and think "Oh I'm probably bothering the neighbors." but they might be more willing to quiet themselves. They're not going to stop unless they know it's bothering someone. If worse comes to worse just call the police every time they get to loud. They're infringing on your peace, they need to be told off.

Well as an ongoing saga... Our neighbors saw my roomie and her brother going up to the apartment and they started screaming at her and calling out threats. She's afraid to go back because they look like they are waiting outside to cause some trouble with us.
They don't seem the type to stop because we asked them to either. I'm kind of scared to go home now. Any advice?

I dont have any nasty neighbors.
The only thing that happens really is the guy living upstairs sings his guts out really loud at least three times a day for thirty minutes each.
And everyone upstairs moves around like they're fat people. Banging the floor all the time. >>;

I could write a book about bad neighbors. I can't even begin to count the number of times I've had to call the cops on any number of idiots that lived in the apartment above mine. I don't think we've ever had a normal upstairs neighbor (until this last one just moved in, he's totally quiet and wonderful and I love him) but I've had assholes who insist on blaring their music loud enough to disturb the entire building so they could, and i quote "hear it in the shower". I've had alcoholic couples who would drink and fight (and i mean physically fight, rolling thundering shit upstairs for hours and then pass out for three days only to get up and do it again. Among other charming and lovely individuals who I would leave to die on the side of the road if I came upon them.

Wow! I hope I don't have a long streak of them like that. I have no neighbors below me now. XD Which makes me happy to an extent cause I can play DDR now without worrying about disturbing them.
I sing in the shower. I prolly bug a lot of people, but at least its during the day.

I suppose we could do that... >,> But I really like it there. Or lease is up by next month.
But it sounds like our manager is just as ready to get rid of them, she just needs more legal reasons to get rid of them. I never realized how difficult it is to evict someone.

My neighbours are all nut cases. XD;;
The one on my right has huge boozing parties every weekend.
The one under me complains about everything ALL the time. She's never not complaining.
And the one to the left of me stole our larger bins and replaced them with his smaller ones once. @ [email protected] Why doesn't he just ask the council for a FREE upgrade? D:
