speaking of nasty neighbours, I have one....
he's crazy. he lives a lone. I think he sees little men.. xD which is a bit fuinny sometimes too. He just yells loudly all of a sudden. Usually every couple hours.
But sometimes he yells something like "oh F***!! I'm gonna die!!* lots of swearing* and then he throws things around for a while, and finally storms out and the next time you see him he's carrying a basket of beer.. >.>

and I also hate the kids in this house. they play with the elevator all the time and last night they jumped and climbed on the waste bins outside.. >.>
I felt like yelling at them. I hate them so much.

I lived in apartments for awhile with the people who I was a nanny for, and we had horrible neighbors! They would make so much noise at night. They always had a LOT of people in their garage(which was directly under the kids' room)and they were getting in fights and screaming at eachother at all hours of the night.
We called the cops out once, because they were threatening the kids' mom when she got home from work one night, but the cop wouldn't do anything. He said he could "talk to them" but we told him that if he wasn't going to help us then he needed to just leave and not say anything because it would only cause more problems for us.

There wasn't really anything we could do. The were finally kicked out, and we moved about a month after that.
Sorry...it's never a fun situation.

My neighbours don't have any parties, but they're not exactly friendly either. They will barely return our "hi"s and will never attempt at conversation. Dicks, all of them. XD

I had a neighbor when I was living in the province who was just so paranoid. He accused one of the workers in our house of peeping at her daughter while she was taking a bath. Our worker denied the allegation and I don't know who was telling the truth.
To continue the story, my neighbor was so mad that he and his son jumped over the fence bringing a gun. Then they were pointing their guns through the window telling me to bring out our worker. But it was just settled.
He's a very paranoid person and just brandishes his gun at anybody who goes nears his fence. Bad neighbor.

I don't really think he's allowed to be throwing around his gun like that. Its not really civil at the least.

Our neighbours are just extremely annoying and loud. The man next door revs his motormoke at really weird times, and for ages. D:

I'm pretty sure you can call the police on them if they do it again.
There's got to be some law against doing things like that.

My father has become that crazy man on the corner.
We've lived here in this neighborhood for as long as I can remember. My father's mother owned the house and it was passed down to us.
People have moved in and out many times.
The neighbors were okay for a while, but now, they're just rude and obnoxious. There are some people a house away that stay up all hours of the night screaming and drinking, and then don't shovel their sidewalk when the snow builds up. The elderly couple next to them have to be at least 300-years-old and they shovel, but heaven forbid one of the new guys get their teenagers to leave the house.

They let their dogs pee and defecate in everyone's yard, and then glare at you when you walk by.
One of these days, I'm going to catch their dog and feed it to mine.

@ Alika;

Wow, it seems like your neighbors certainly don't know how... loud they are. I suggest you just say it straight to their faces that they're bothering your family, or file a complaint about them. O<

Wow, a lot of bad neighbor horror stories here. It's make me even more grateful to live where I live now. It's a corner house where on one side lives a married couple. And even though the husband owns this freakin' loud motorcycle, they've never really been any problem. On the other side lives a really nice older Buddhist couple and their son. They're great neighbors. The husband has a small building in their backyard where he prays but that's nothing.

Where I lived before really drove me up the fuckin' wall. It was an apartment. And i've lived in apartments before, and this place was the worst. It was a set of three buildings placed in a 'U' shape with a central grassy area in the middle. Our downstairs neighbors had kids that they let run wild. They were always yelling and screaming. The brother and sister were always fighting. They'd blast their music. And the cops were called on them lots of times.

Across from us was a loft where the renters had a band and they would practice for hours, weekends and weekdays. Downstairs from them was a family that practically made the grassy area theirs by sitting out there playing their music and drinking even into the night. And to boot, the plumbing and ceileings were bad. It sucked. ... *laughs* I'm all worked up now.

Uh... My neighbor came over in the dead of night, are dogs were making a few barks, not much to wake up are next door neighbor unless he was listening really hard, and it was quiet to us too. This neighbor lives three houses down. We were eating dinner in the am, and we saw him over at our dog keenel, pounding on the gate and yelling. We went outside, and he looked at me, especially and screamed, "I'm going to shoot your damn dogs! AndI swear I'll kill every pet you own!"
Weeks later, there was a wild rooster her invaded our neighborhood. We own a few hens, which don't make noise at all. He calls codes, and we're threatened, when the rooster isn't ours! So we made a small fenced in area were you can't see them or hear them. He called codes again. They checked it out, seeing we only had hens and they were hidden, they left. Well he told my dad he would shoot the rooster, my dad was fine with that. Until, we came home one night, to find the rooster hanging on the arm of our rocking chair, blood dripping all over our porch.
I hate him so much... We got rid of our hens, not cause of him, but we couldn't deal with them any longer. It was too expensive to keep feeding them.

Oh goodness. My neighbors TERRIFY me. They're a bit elderly, and it seems as if they have no life of their own.
One day this summer we were expecting a storm. Nothing big, just your average thunder storm. They called over to inform us that out tiny upstairs window was open, and that we should close it before it rained. Considerate, I know... I was the only one that found it creepy that these people noticed such a minor detail about our house.
They do things like this all the time.
Our neighbor called over one time, and my brother hung up on her mid-sentence. That did not go over too well.

Mine play loud music constantly.
And I mean, all day, all night, 3 AM, whatever time.
They're in the downstairs flat next-door...my bedroom is on the second floor and I can perfectly hear every word of their music and TV from the other side of the house.
It's...not so pleasant.

I had neighbors like that for awhile, I think they were evicted because I haven't been bothered for awhile now.
Always loud late at night yelling, banging on stuff. The manager came to me and said "are they bothering you?" I said yes and I haven't heard from them since.
I'm starting to resent the general mexican populace more and more because that is what I am surrounded by, all I ever hear is their crappy crappy music...as a music major I cringe every time I hear it. I know people have their own tastes it's just...I don't know it hurts my ears... probably because I'm not into that style. Some of it is alright but most of the stuff just hurts. (rap also hurts my ears...and I literally feel sick to the point of vomiting and passing out every time people play it with the bass all the way up and everything else down.)
I also have a neighbor whose car alarm goes off at random and it's very very annoying.

Neighbors suck.

My neighbor is so nosy because she has nothing better to do. Every time we have company she has to know who it was, why they were here, ect.

She's really annoying, too.

We have neighbors who drink and have parties on Friday and Saturday nights but they're good about it and stop at 12 on the dot. If they were to ever get really crazy and loud, I would definitely call the police. You shouldn't have to be the ones being tortured by their stupid habits. You were right to call the cops on them and should do it more if they continue to be an annoyance. It's disturbing the peace even if they're doing it inside their own space, it is leaking out to where others can hear and that is offend-able.

I never knew neighbors could be that bad. All our neighbors did was get mad at my brother and sister for playing basketball "Too loudly" at about 10 in the morning. They were having a morning tea party outside or something. The other neighbors just hire people to blow leaves all day long in the fall, when the weather is finally nice enough to open a window. My neighbors are just annoying, sometimes, not mean, some are even really nice and friendly. I guess I'm lucky we live where we live. I'm sorry they do that to all of you with bad neighbors.

My family and I used to live in an apartment and had lived there for four years. We had our fair share of annoying neighbors - the crazy cat lady on the first floor of the building next too ours who just HAD to be annoying as hell, nosy, loud, inconsiderate, and tried to sell various Avon products to other residents even though solicitation wasn't allowed. The apartment under us who saw it's fair share of families while we lived there, including a family who was NEVER there and a family that I would swear moved furniture ever day and only at night. The family a few buildings over with the kid who acts like a spoilt BRAT, swears at people, back talks at her parents, and just acts like a bitch in general, but her parents swore up and down that she was a saint.

Though, I can't complain too much because I know that my brother, out friends and I must have been annoying as hell to listen too. XD

Despite the annoying neighbors, the complex was a nice place. At least, until earlier this year when they decided that children were no longer allowed to play in the grass and that dogs were allowed. WHAT. Now, I have no problem with dogs, but no one cleaned up after them! DX And the whole 'kids can't play outside' was based on the complaint of ONE annoying old lady who complained that some kids were ruining her flower garden (ironic thing: You weren't allowed to have flower gardens or anything of the like in the complex. xD) I know the kids she was complaining about, and they are all very considerate and quiet, and make sure never to ruin something of someone else.

That was just kind of the straw that broke the camels back. My parents were already looking for a new place since my mom had been having issues with a cough that we though was connected to the apartment (turns out it was), but when they're really wasn't anywhere else to play outside with our friends with out a fifteen minute walk...

Turns out it was a good idea to move. With all the dogs everywhere, there was a TON of ticks everywhere, which everyone was already having trouble with.

And I just went completely off topic. DX I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I just really needed to rant about that place. >.>;

Oh geez. I don't blame you for telling her to call the police. You're not alone though, I feel your pain.

The neighbours we had next door moved, thankfully, but whenever someone moves in there, they are always, and I mean always horrible. They're loud, obnoxious, and do drugs. I wish for once we'd have some quiet neighbours. It's nice no one's living there right now, but when they do, augh..

I'd just hope they move or something. XD I don't know what to tell you. If they ever get on your nerves again seriously do call the police. It's not your fault they're so loud. They should quiet down and calm themselves if they don't want you calling the police.

I would have gone to them directly and asked them to quiet down because they're disturbing the peace and quiet. Though they'd probably still glare at you everytime.

I have one tiny sweet little old lady who lives above me and doesn't make a peep. And then her son and his kids come over. They park in our numbered spot. He lets the children RUN back and forth and back and forth until 10:30 at night. Then the kids get up at 7:30am and start all over again. I finally got fed up, but instead of being nasty I asked if the kids wanted to play with some of my kid's outside stuff. (bikes, skates, bubbles, ect.) It worked and I got some peace!! :)
