Haha. I'm too shy to flirt outright, and so I just watched and waited for a conversation I could get into.

Books are one of the few things I know a good bit about. Books, and cooking.

Oh, here's another sign of how I'm not the average girl. I cannot cook more than simple boiling spaghetti. But books, on the other hand, are something I'm fluent with.

I've been cooking for... almost 14 years now. Started with things like soups and eggs. Now I can do roasts, stews, stir-fries, casseroles... For St. Patrick's day I'm going to make stuffed cabbage rolls and maybe something sweet and minty for desert.
If my roommates were old enough, I'd make some mint-chocolate margarita-type things.

Oh, that sounds amazing. But I'm underage, as well, sadly. But mint and chocolate are certainly favorite flavors of mine.

I suppose we could always get them the mint-chocolate milkshake things at Arby's?
~Sighs.~ I need to meet someone special. I want to be able to make them candies for V-day and cuddle with them late into the night.

I know what you mean. My on-again-off-again relationship's been very off since the beginning of this school year. Fun story; I'll repeat it sometime when it's far enough in the past that it's funny.

Good afternoon everybody.
Sorry I've been gone for so long. Still reading...and unfortunately real life has to intrude every now and then.
Addina, when is the next time you'll see your boyfriend? Having him away so much must be really hard!

Addina, I'm sending my well-wishes to him as well.
Back to the convo at hand: I'm not really one for Valentine's Day. I'll get my girlfriend something small and nice, but I honestly have no real interest in it.

My hubby doesn't believe in valentine's day.
So therefore, I get nadda.
I remember back in my younger days, one time I got a box of chocolates. Unfortuantely, it was from a boy in my class that I couldn't stand.

Does he not believe in it because he doesn't need a special day to show his love, or is he just not good with those things at all? I don't' celebrate it because I have 364 other days that I can and do do nice things for my girl. I recognize it because it's been turned into such an important thing that you're made to feel guilty by others for not celebrating in some way.
