They sure were hard to keep up with! I'm not used to conversations moving so rapidly.

*is currently procrastinating* >_>;
I think it's because they move so fast that some users see a jump in their post count. I haven't been posting that much lately, so I'm hovering at about 11.6 K...
I guess I could post in the hangout during lunch, which is in about 15 minutes..

I can NOT believe there was drama about a pixel event! My sympathies to all the mods...that's crap you had to put up with something like that.
Now me, I'm an equal opportunity basher--if you're not on my team and I see you, i hit you!

I don't think I'm going to have enough gold to buy all the Event items I want by the end of the event. I simply cannot play those games until I make 500 gold every day. being that I tend to always get less than 10, and most times less than 5 for playing my favorite game (it's fast paced, and short). And then, I'm trying to be all stealthy to prevent from being hit while I whack these Roses, Skulls, and Hearts (occasionally), so I'm not getting my usual post count (average is diminishing a little every day). I hardly come to my subscribed threads because it's always the same people posting and so I have no new people to "fight," and then I don't want to hit my teammates anyway. I wish I had something to sell, lol.
Event items' prices go up in the Marketplace or whatever after the event ends, doesn't it? :(
Edit:
And about the mod stuff:
I wouldn't mind being a moderator on this site, as I've wanted to be mods on other sites. it's just that I feel I'd have my mod rights revoked or whatever either because I wasn't spending enough time on the site, well, not roaming around enough on it, because I tend to stick to only a few forums, and sometimes only a few threads; or I'd be deemed as abusing my rights because I'd be editing almost every post I ran across with a grammatical or spelling error. n_n"

I was fortunate enough to have a very interesting cycle of kindness around me before the event started. Darrell (Seiki Nova) contemplated selling a few of his Valentine's 2007 event items (which go by the hundred thousands on mene) because he wanted more commons. It so happens that not long before that, I had whined about not having an oriental fan. He'd offered to let me borrow his, but I said I wanted one of my own. So then he said he'd find a way to help me but wouldn't tell me what it was.
I started up an art auction on here, and eventually he bid 30K, which then made even more people bid, until not only did someone bid an O-Fan, they also bid a few other things I wanted as well.
Now, in between this, Darrell sold a crown to Bartuc, who sold it to Rosebleed, and apparently, there was a condition set with the selling of the crown. Whoever it was sold to had to help me get my fan. So within the span of two days, I got about 30K in donations o.e;;
I spent 10K in commons, and then a bit of it on new CI's, and saved the rest (about 18K) for the next event >w<
As for posting, I post as much as I feel like it, like any other day. I post in all my subscribed threads, and in the purple hangout thread because I can only keep up with one thread at a time. I'm not really scared of getting hit because somehow, even when I've put myself in the front page of the "Wack A Staff" thread, I manage to maintain my HP. I seem to blend into the background...? XD
I don't think editing a user's post for something that isn't actually against the rules is kinda rude o.e; I can be a bit of a grammar nazi myself (and I refuse to capitalize nazi in this context) but editing someone else's post is crossing the line D8; Sure, bad grammar bothers me, but if that's the way they want to type, then the best I can do is read through their post as quickly as possible and then continue on my merry way.
Being a mod is about interacting with the community, even if it's a specific community. I look through the Fresh Meat forums, Literature Spot forums, Art Discussion forums, and Art Post forums fairly regularly. Literature Spot is outside of my comfort zone, but getting to see new things in places I don't regularly visit is interesting, too. I had actually never touched the Lit Spot before I became a mod, actually... LOL
One forum I'd like to have as a place to regularly visit is the Avatar Chat forums. A good chunk of the people I talk to tend to stick to that forum. The books forum would be nice too. I love books~
I'm a touch scared of the General Discussion forums because those move too fast for me to keep up with while school is in session, but maybe in the summer...
I kind of went off on a tangent there... X'D;
What I basically mean is you have to like what you do, even when the job can be unlikeable. Interacting with the community is a given, because you're working FOR the community, and so it's necessary to be on the site for a certain amount of time.
I myself feel sort of guilty because I've become less active then when I started moderating. However, since I started modding very close to winter break, it was a given that I would have more time to moderate then than I do now... I miss my time. WHERE IS MY SUMMER VACATION??
... about a quarter of the school year away, that's where...

Hmmm.... I had gotten a donation of 400 gold from a friend of mine on here.... didn't expect it and felt kind of bad for getting it.... she said that she wasn't using it anyway... so i appreciated it and took it off of her hands^^.
Kindness is always nice... i work mostly on my own though and i don't mind.... i don't really have much that others want that aren't easily gotten (outside of my Collection Items that I really don't want to give up). But anyway... Jean is right.... if you are nice you get nice things in return... ^^.
I should donate something... lol :P

I used to be, but it's like since I've moved away from Gaia and taken on three other sites, it's not as big of a deal anymore. I pretty much mastered one avatar site's avatar system, at least it seems that way since I continue to win the "Who Has The Better Outfit?" rounds in their avatar chat forum, but I don't care to go as fast to that here, and it seems harder to me because there are so many indistinct layers. The other site I'm on is pretty limited in the layer department (Like, you can't wear a dress with pants =/), but I got used to it and found three beautiful outfits.
Maybe one day I'll get into doing more item acquiring and join the avatar subforum in this thread.

Wow, I totally meant to say "forum" instead of "thread" as the last word of my last post. Heh, I guess that's what I get for posting at such an odd hour.
Even I've been on all my avatar sites less because of school. I'd be on more this weekend, but I'm going on a trip with the school's French Club to this Mardi Gras celebration. Then, Sunday, I have to practice different dances for my Social Dance course with another student in the class, and then also make sure we know the terminology. Busy weekend. NEXT weekend, I gotta spend some time with my homegirl.
We're gonna go to a KARAOKE NIGHT! =D

I've never been to a Karaoke bar. It always sounds like fun.
My hubbie has been to Japan on business trips numerous times.
He said that every evening the guys took them out to different places to get drunk.
Even *he* did a Karaoke (if you ever heard him sing....). Must have been hysterical.
I think the Japanese just like to see the gaiji be stupid.

I read that it's a big night thing over there. Who knows why. But I do think it's fun. It's kinda like it's an allowance to step out of the shower and into the limelight no matter how talented your vocal chords are.
