Yup. I feel so bad for not having a job, because my mom and dad are paying for the books. But I am applying for one as soon as I re-do my resume. It's a bit outdated.

Why can't they just give us a solid list of what we need, with the title of the books??

Because colleges make loads of money off of textbook sales. That's why some disciplines update their textbook versions every year.
I discovered my freshman year that "optional" reading material is... pretty pointless. And in the end when you want to sell those books to other students or sell back to the bookstore, they either don't want them, or will give you a tiny fraction of the price. I still have like 4 books on Northwest Native American art history that I didn't ever need, and which no-one wants.
Platty, check out "http://www.starvingscholars.com/", you can buy textbooks from people who go to your school and then therefore totally avoid the shipping costs, plus when you post there sometimes it actually works. ^_^

IF it had been more than 100 dollars I would be even more upset, but I'll see tomorrow (at orientation) if anyone is missing a course reader so I can sell it to them. If not, I could send the anatomy one to my boyfriend, since he's interested, but I'm not allowed to send them through scans. Haha~

Ah well. Everything is ordered now, and tomorrow I can ask questions. It's a pretty long orientation, haha!

Textbooks are terribly costly. T.T
Im a med student so Ive gotta buy these really thick heavy books. Sometimes they are really awesome and make the books into binders, so you can take out chapters you need that class instead of lugging around the huge book.
But they are expensive. Some classes I spend near 300$ for books. T.T
I remember for the psych 101 class the text cost 150.

Haha, I have seven books. 3 of them are actual books, and they're not very large at all, and the other four were made into notebooks, taking pieces from textbooks that we need so that we won't have to buy the actual book. It's the giant drawing pads and cutting mat that weigh 22 pounds together. Thank god I don't have to carry them all at once anymore.

I'm looking for a good messenger bag to replace this superannoying purse my mom got me for taking to work and it's unfortunately popular now to have a big bag with short straps so that it lives in your armpit. >_<! I hate fashion over functionality, now I have to HUNT. >_>
