@Jean: well, considering the fact that me and him are so closely related that we are the exact same person... I think we are a bit more than twins XD

bedlam is a british insane asylum, the aristocrats of the time used to watch the insane people like animals at a zoo. That is where The definition of Bedlam came from, Chaos and Confusion.

Well, I've had a few awful days.
My Mom lives in a nursing home up in Fargo, ND. A couple of days ago they said they were evacuating her and the others...flying them to Bismarck.
That was bad enough...but we found out that when they got to Bismarck, they put her in a van and sent her on to Bowman, ND. It's about as far to the South and West as you can get and still be in ND. That was a 3 hr drive.

My poor Mom. We had just found out that her cancer came back. She has 6 months to live, is in pain, and then this happens. She has dementia, with a 30 second short term memory, which usually means that she tends to be oblivious to what's going on. But she is sure remembering that flight and the drive. Then to top it off, they lost her bag that had her books and puzzle books in it, leaving her with little to do in the hospital in Bowman...and no family there at all to take care of her.

I sure wish they had consulted family. We have family in Grand Forks, Minneapolis, Minot, Bismarck...but no....they had to send her as far away as possibly where there is NO family. And I'm down in Texas!

The stress is affecting her dementia. I've talked to her twice a day since she got there on Friday, but she doesn't remember that I've called, or that my sister has called. Poor thing...she's feeling that we've deserted her!

Aaargh....I feel so useless, there's nothing I can do.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I've been hearing of a lot of hospital screw-ups lately. ;3; It really intimidates me because I really want to become a surgeon.

Thanks, King. It really helped me to let my frustrations out. When I talk to my Mom, I have to be sure to be really upbeat and positive. It helps if I've been able to vent elsewhere.

Dystopia, I think it was the triage in Bismarck that messed up. They didn't really read her chart before making a decision. When you talk to my Mom, she sounds very lucid. She's very agreeable, never complains. She says she understands when you tell her something. Then a minute later, it's all gone. The Doctors can't seem to understand this. She's in constant pain, but if you ask her about it, she says "oh, it's all right". Typical Scandinavian heritage.
