I was watching HBO, and this documentary "In Focus" was discussing the existence of vampires. Some of the aspects they covered were things like their ages, if they drink blood etc.
Imo, this show seemed so funny! Everyone seemed so "out of their minds" and gave such ridiculous "facts". A women claimed that she existed since the 1800s or something, she decided to show her photos, which looked so photoshopped but whatever, and said she wouldn't disclose her age.

I want to know your opinions.
Am I not the only one who thinks that this is a joke?! >3>;;

I've seen similar shows, and I do believe to an extent that there are people out there who are indeed vampires... I've SEEN them. By this I don't mean the "survives on blood and lives for a million billion years" idea of vampires, but there are some similarities. For instance, some people hold "blood letting" gatherings were willing "donors" sign waivers that they're clean and free from disease... and that they're willingly allowing these people to take their blood. These "vampires" then will drink the blood from the individual and oftentimes experience a certain kind of high from the experience. They have these blood letting get togethers every year down the road from my house... strange, but true.

Then you have the scenesters... the ones who see vampirism as a fashion movement. I believe they're also called Lifestylers. They basically live the life of a vampire sans the blood drinking... they dress like the iconic vampire is depicted in media, they come out at night, etc. Quite interesting.

Then there's also the idea of the psychic vampire, who feeds off of other people's life force and energy... I know for a fact these are real. You may even know a couple.

But the idea of a Bram Stoker's Dracula vampire? No, sadly I don't think they're real... I'd like to be proven wrong though.

I don't think there really are true vampires in this day and age. Being a 'spiritual' person myself, I think they may have been around before, but not now. Shows like that would make me laugh too.

I agree with all this. Oddly enough, I'm the type of person who loves the taste of blood, though I wont do blood-letting. I've met psychic vampires before, and have let one feed off my energy... Very interesting feeling...-Blinks some-

Lmfao, Fangbook? Wow. Okay, it sounds like a hoax. When did the riots and what not happen anyways? wouldn't everyone have heard about it if it was THAT big of a deal? By the way, all of those pics are definitely photoshopped. This just kinda makes me laugh. xD That would be cool though if it was all true. >.> I'm a big vampire fan. xD

Shows like that make me want to grab the producers, and the presenters and just bitch slap them, force feed them alcohol till they pass out, and then dump them in Las Vegas cross dressed (that will freak the guys out a little) and each one with a used condom nearby to hand.

Sorry but Vampires could be real, just not in the sense that popular fiction likes to dictate.

I was watching something on Vampires the other day that was really interesting. It wasn't the fairy book type vampires, but modern day vampires that drink blood and come out at night, dress the part and things like that. It was a bit odd, but interesting at the same time.

vampires i am not sure if they do or don't exist, I am going to say they do until someone proves me wrong, but that is how i work with stuff liek this cause many many vampires and such can be described amongst the legends, and as such, i can see people in modern day still being the relitives from the ancient time.

But yes, people pretending to be vampires, it happens alot, and as someone stated, in many different ways.

The only vampires I know that really exist are psychic vampires and people with "porfilia" [hematophilia?], an illness where people only like blood and won't eat anything else, and as a result they would become too sensible for light. Good thing it's a rarity these days.

But, seriuosly. Feeding off from blood? They would have killed their digestive system by now xP That's as unbelievable as that old man that claimed he hadn't eaten since he was 12, that he just got energy from the sunlight o_O'

I do understand how someone would not like sunshine and liked the taste of blood, but NOT to the point of becoming a lifestyle! xP

PS: ... I believe in cannibals too! :D

Of course it's fake, it's a viral marketing campaign for the new HBO show "True Blood".

Ah, you do understand that it was a parody, right?
It wasn't a real "documentary". They're called mockumentaries.

I heard that Vampires did exist once, and still do.
But, way back..hundreds of years ago, some guy (human) executed a criminal, but once the criminal's head had been chopped off, the guy drank some of the criminals blood.
Don't take my word for it, it's not like I know if it's an actual fact or not but all these books that I've read are always talking about people misunderstanding the term 'vampire'. Where it does not mean a seperate race, but a human being who might drink another human being's blood, wether it is for pleasure, or for another reason.
Heh.

I love vampire stories, but I don't think that something that came from a book written by Bram Stoker could possibly be real. He based the book on Vlad the impaler, not on some mythical being. Vampires didn't exist until he created them.
