This is very very tricky and possibly a waste of time. I know I want to try, so I will.
I would like to move awayfrom here because it has too many bad memories, low economic oppertunities and just because I want to leave. I have tried to raise chunks of money to fund it before.
Sorta a chicken and egg thing. Need the chuck of money to relocate, need to relocate for better economic chances. The economy has never been great here, I was willing as a college educated person to accept a job at subways...NOPE it was taken!.
Same with the mundane job at the cafe and many other menial jobs. Every job is a rat race and it always seems there's a line for any job I've tried to get into. Even no skill jobs that I am overqualified for. I never thought as a college educated person, I'd be fighting for minimium wage jobs.
I will finish being certified for massage because I switched job fields due to the economy, possibly this fall...It then that I'd like to get the process into motion. The only option I see is getting a laon. BUT will they give me a loan based on that I want to start my own thing when I get there so I can fund my move?.
It takes a while to become established in massage, and I have no desire to become established here only to raise the funds when I have been desparatly trying to leave. Which is my goal in the first place. I'd rather cut my ties and become established in my new town. I used to appy to jobs in other locations because I wanted desparatly to leave, until I was told they preferred to hire people who already lived there instead.
So anyone ever got a loan under these circumstances?. I'm willing to put my stuff into storage for a while, make the move and hopefully work on getting started with an internship in massage.
I want to be relocated from southern VT to southern NH and I want to permanently drop my VT citenship sp? and never return here. Yes I hate it that much.
I'm checking out the twon again that I'm trying to move too very soon...Wheee!...

The economy anywhere in the US is going to be bad. It's not just like that there, it's everywhere. Moving won't solve much of not getting a job thing. As far as a loan goes, it depends on your credit history and all that. There are loans that you can get for housing, but it depends on the state laws and all that so I'm not too sure how it works from going to one state to another.
I would at least apply for jobs where you plan to move and get something lined up for when you do move. If you move without any money or a job then you probably won't do well. You can always fill out applications online, especially if they have a mall or something like that around where you want to live that has a lot of big chain stores.
I know what you mean about wanting to move and never return. I'm like that with Michigan. I hate it here, at least in this area.

My younger brother is a photographer in the process of doing this very thing - moving and starting his own business. What he is doing may be the only way of doing it in times like this.
Go scout out the area you want to live. Make sure there is a call for the business you want to start there, and then set the massage aside for a while. NOW - find exactly two things: A cheap (as cheap as you can stand) place to live and a job, ANY job, to fund your expenses. Even part-time is better than nothing. If you can pay your rent an utilities, then hey, it gets you moved. Wal-Mart, McDonalds, whatever. A job is a job at this point.
Once you've got those things, you can concentrate on putting back what is needed (or getting a loan) to start your business. Assume that you will be broke and have no free time for quite some time, as this will take all your available time and money. But it'll be worth it to you. Good luck!

I found something that seemed to be calling me...Too bad it's too expensive and I need to do an internship first:(. I kept thinking, it's a sign of something that I found this ad.
An ad for a massage therapist who wants to share/rent a room with another massage therapist in the very same town I want to move to. Cost of $350 for the rented room.
Either massage pays far better then where I am from or this person has another source of income to pay the massage room rent. Because where I am from, massage work would not bring in enough money to pay that rent, let alone make a living.
I may hang on to that and contact them if they need someone after I've done the internship.
A shared room or my own place is just what I'm looking for. I'd prefer my own place due to being more flexiable and not having to pay rent.
If we stop there on the way back, I'm taking their phone number and calling them for info. I didn't have pencil and paer with me, will if we stop again. OR I may have to search for them on the internet.
I got the certification for the state I want to move to from my instructor. I need 750 hours before I can legally practice massage there.
Thanks for the suggestion. though I doubt I will make it without a high paying job like massage. I'm not sure I will make it even with a high paying job the way things are going:(/
