I was thinking. maybe one of the events could be trivia about the staff? I could write out a list of questions and the staff could supply the answers, and then people will have to try to guess the answers to the questions.

But wouldn't we need gold for prizes?

That is something we need right now. We need prizes.

If you guys are still planning to have the Staff Appreciation Week at the end of March, you should really assign specific things to do for the people who are willing to help and have enough time to help (with deadlines. the overall deadline is in about a month, but the little things need deadlines too). The threads should be planned in a general way first (research if necessary, prizes, themes, etc...and make sure the people doing this stuff are checked in with to make sure they're actually doing it) and then the threads need to be set up prior to the event and pmed to a couple different people so that they aren't lost if someone gets sick last minute. And then it needs to be decided who will be running the thread and who's the backup/co runner.

Wow this post is coming off as really bossy  Sorry about that, I'm just trying to give you some idea of the stuff that needs done...which is a lot.

I was involved with the Staff Appreciation Day, which didn't happen basically because most of the people were really busy and procrastinated getting the stuff done until it was too late (including myself). I don't want to see the same thing happen to another Staff Appreciation event.

I (and other people probably) might feel more inclined to donate once the more intense event planning gets started. I wouldn't worry too much about that right now, donations will probably come once people see that you're serious.

I wasn't saying that it was the only thing important. I meant it was once we figured things out more, but that we really do have to keep in mind what we're going to do for prizes.

I have no idea if this is going to happen or not, because I haven't seen [L]ove[H]ate around much lately. Then again, I could've just been missing her when she has been online.

Sadly, I think it's too much to do in too small a time frame. Maybe we should rethink it and maybe have it in June or something.

Oh I wasn't trying to say that's the only thing you're considering, just that you might not get a lot of donations until things are more solid. And it might be complicated if you got donations and then the event didn't end up happening. You'd have to remember exactly who gave what and give it back.

I agree about the date. Thinking about getting all that stuff done in a month is enough to give anyone a headache. It'd only be possible if people didn't have any other obligations in life, but lets face it, how often does that happen?

Of course, if the time gets pushed back, it's important to start the planning right away so that this doesn't happen again. [L]ove[H]ate has probably been really busy with real life or something. Maybe she'll pop in and tell you guys whether she thinks she'll have enough time in the future or if she's still going to be too busy in real life.

Well I have gold myself, and if anyone wants to donate they can. I am in the process of selling my mask set and pudao to have some gold/items. Ummm...help me keep my thread up-and-running?

But I like your idea, and I am putting you in charge of it. I will have a plan for each thread, so just read the front post whenever, and start doing everything for your forum I guess?

Well I have been busy, but everything you said is true for real. Ummm...I am going to assign people to help out here. You and cricket are definetly in. <3

I am going to have event thread sign-ups now.

Just post the form...and I will choose who does what, blah, blah, blah. And I am going to PM a AA to let them know the days of the event buisness. =]

Well I'd like to help with the About the Staff section. The thing is, I have time right now, but I don't know how much I'll have in the future (school comes first). I'm just trying to be realistic about how much I can do for sure.

So I'm interested in doing the research part of About the Staff, but I'm not interested in making or running the thread. If you want me to work on that, I can start on the research right away. Just send me a list of staff names that you want me to pm. I can send the answers back to you or to someone who wants to make/run the thread.

I'm willing to help with advertising. If someone knows how to make a banner, I'd put it in my signature. I don't hang out in the Mene Nations though, so I can't really bring it up in discussions.

Are you planning on moving the dates of the event back?

Hey that sounds great. You don't have to run the thread, getting information is fine. I will have someone run that stuff for you. =] School should definetly come first always. What are you in school for? Or are you still in high school?

I will make a mediocre (spelling?) banner tomorrow or the next day and we can start by advertising with that, but eventually I will get a nice banner made.

Eh probably not. The dates for the event are perfect because if I make it longer from the dates planned it will cut into Easter, and if I push it forward, it will cut into that fox game thing they do and the st.patty's day stuff. So that's why I picked these event dates.

But I love how you are willing to help. I appreciate it. I will PM you a list soon.

I could help with the shout-outs thread. I'm online every day and usually don't have much to do.

Do you need more prizes?

Edit: Pfff. I completely missed the form. Bad of me. XD *posts form* Also the post where you mentioned that, yes, you're trying to come up with stuff for prizes.

Name: Wordstreamer
Sticky1 you want to help in: Show Your Love (Staff Shout Outs)
Sticky2 you want to help in (in case the 1st is taken): Show Your Staff Love (Art/Poetry/Etc.)
How much will you be online during the event (estimate)?: Definitely at least once a day for a few hours--more likely multiple times a day for a few hours each. (On weekends, the time will be slightly less, but I'd still be on for a few hours at any given part of the day.)
How much are you willing to help?: As much as I can.
Are you willing to advertise&get the event out in the public air?: Sure! *makes a crappy banner, too, if you like*

Sure! As long as my often-awkward social tendencies don't scare people. :sarcasm: I think that happens sometimes.

I have an extra January '09 set... Should I send it to you, or is there a different account?

I'm majoring in Research Psychology. I'm admittedly really obsessed with getting good grades lately because I want to transfer to a specific college.

Cool, I'll put the banner in my signature once it's up.

I've pmed all the staff members that are on my list so far, just waiting for replies. Thanks for being understanding about school. It's nice to be able to just do the research.

Edit: Oops hehe, I just got my first reply and she pointed out that we've only had one event in 2009. Maybe we should remove that question?

Bartuc, Rosebleed, and PlatinumChild are trial mods right now, too. They have been for a few months, as far as I remember. *doesn't know how helpful that is*

Also, what about former mods and those who still do things on the site? (wish04 and ChibiTotoro222 have been credited for pixelling recently, even though they aren't still official staff as far as I know.)

I also think we should pay tribute to Wish04. She might not have a colored name, but she brought us several of the gorgeous Valentine's Day items (including the awesome sneakers).

I'm not sure if I can help out with this right now. I'm on multiple medications for different medical problems and they're making me sleep an awful lot, and when I'm awake my brain feels fuzzy, even though my mother says I'm acting less-fuzzy-brained than I have in months.

I really don't think there's enough time to plan a good event. If you could push it back to maybe June or something (should there not be an event in June, I'm not sure if there will be, you'll have to ask the staff), I should be able to participate. I would suggest April or May, but I'm not sure if there's going to be a Phoenix Jubilee this year or not. (I really hope there will be.)

I can continue to try to help, but I won't be contributing until those rare hours where I don't feel very foggy, or until my medication can be adjusted to stop making me foggy and sleep so much.

It's your choice if I help or not, just keep in mind that I'm working in brain-fog right now.

Ah. I was more pointing them out for the list that Juniper posted. Sorry.

Chibi did the clothing from the Lunar New Year set, and some of the Winter Nights commons... Some other items of hers have come out since she left, too.
