Birds, especially psitticines, scare the ever loving crud out of me most of the time. But some are just too ridiculous to fear. Heh.

Haha, yeah, parrotes, macaws, cockatoos. They all scare the living hell out of me. I have a hard time reading their signals, and so I end up getting bitten more often than not when I deal with them.
And at the vet's office I worked at we used to have a bunch of spoiled ones come in. So they'd hop on your shoulder and then bite you on the ear if you tried to get them back into the cage.

I totally cared for an ostrich though, and despite the fact that they can eviscerate lions with their feet and are territorial twits with a tiny brain, they don't actually scare me as much as psitticines. Heh. I'm weird.

Wow, I definitely agree--pet birds (and their owners) are really hard to deal with sometimes.
The wild raptors that I work with at my school's wildlife clinic are so much better. :)
