I actually have never played the first one, so I'm honestly not even that sure. ><;; I get rather confused at times, too. I have no idea what exactly the eco is, but in the second one Jak had been held prisoner for 2 years and they were pumping him with dark eco for some kind of experiment. I think they were trying to make him into a creature that they could use as a weapon. Well, he should have died from all of it, but Daxter saves him from the thing, and he's able to turn into like the Dark Jak thing when you have enough dark eco. You learn from an oracle guy in the second one how to control the power by trading him gem skulls you get from some metal heads you kill. But anyways, it was just all about trying to get revenge on the Baron for holding him prisoner and turning him into what they did, but it also sounds like they're actually in the future, so they're trying to find a way to get back to their time. Not really sure how else to explain it. D: If you looked up stuff online, then you could probably find the entire backstory. :yes:

They said something about the eco is almost gone from the planet, so they found a device that'll turn dark into colored.

From the site, it just looks like its another story. Does it not say anything in the beginning that kind of tells you whats going on?

No! In the beginning it starts of with Fiona and Jak and Daxter in an airship, and they get attacked by pirates. They crash, and the beginning quest is to find something to fix the ship so it shows you all the controls as you do that. Then you bring back eco to Fiona, and the airship goes back up again. They don't explain anything. Just that they're looking for eco, since it's almost all gone.
